  1. The world is a much better place with the likes of Andrew Drummond, who is as brave as any soldier. He knows the best (his Thai wife and kids, the food, most of the people, etc..) and the worst of Thailand, an utter dichotomy that would be beyond comprehension for many, but for journalists like Andrew, and Phuketwan Editor Alan Morison, who also fits the category of brave warrior, although these folks would deny it, such is their modest mentality..

But when the lowest common denominator of foreign scum pays off corrupt Thai police, and other assorted thugs, for any number of nefarious activities, where morals and ethics are found at the end of a gun barrel, or at the tip of a machete...whether we are reading about no good Goudie on Andrew Drummond.com, or the marginalized Rohingya on Phuketwan.com.

According to the thugs, Mr. Drummond's best-buy date was up years ago, yet he remains relatively fresh, quite undaunted, however cognizant that he has a family that has to come first. He's smart enough to know that he'd be little use to his cherished family, if the thugs (farang and Thai) got their way.

Whether Islam extremists, corrupt Thai police, or expat criminals languishing in Pattaya, all those with the conscience of a plastic flower, with the morals and ethics of a cornered rat, need to be put under the spotlight, or else the rats will continue their depravities, their scams, their murders unabated...in murky shadows, where they prefer to be of course.

Virtually every one of them are cowards, when isolated. Consequently, folks of this ilk stick together, like sh-- on a blanket.

Journalists like Andrew and Alan are in the same category as Charlie Hebdo, they are modest, albeit imperfect people, light years ahead of their adversaries, in terms of a moral compass. Now it's up to readers of conscience, to help them, to emulate them in some small way, like sharing information that could save lives. After all, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Well said! and post No 7 as well, the guy stuck his life on the line he probably loves Thailand and very sad to see him go.

  2. "Two thieves attempted to rob an ATM there in June last year but also failed to get the cash out of it."

It takes practice.....eventually they will get to the money................

There was a gang in NZ called "the hole in the wall gang" who used tow trucks to rip ATM"S out of the wall, however they took the machines away with them to open at a secret location.

Something to be learned here robbers if you read this post!

  3. Whilst the parents have a deep vested interest in their son who died and possibly do not have access to the full facts their statements are very worrying:

The parents of a British holidaymaker who died in suspicious circumstances in Thailand are convinced he was murdered – and the killing covered up to protect tourism.
His parents are battling to disprove the official version of events. They think he may have been followed back to his holiday bungalow and killed. Despite being warned to keep quiet by people on the island, the family have refused to be silenced.
Tracy said: “It seems like they just want to protect their tourist industry but we need to know what happened.”
“For us it’s horrendous, a living nightmare. We have to face the awful reality we might never get the answers we need.
"I just hope that one day someone will get to the bottom of what’s happening on Koh Tao, and what really happened to our wonderful son.”
She added: “We are sure our son was murdered but no one claims to know anything.
"We will keep campaigning for justice. We hope that having Koh Tao in the spotlight might help.”
"We knew he liked a Thai girl he’d met and we wondered if that had caused offence, and that someone followed him and did him harm.”
She added: “The police didn’t look at his room or the area where he was found. There was no attempt to investigate.
"They spent most of their time laughing and joking as we asked questions.”
Tracy said her son Matt was warned there are “powerful people on the island”, and that the family should leave rather than stirring up trouble.
They also heard other holidaymakers had died on the island and their bodies “thrown into the water in the hope they’d be washed away”.

As I said why was this man murdered-- inconsistent bruising for a massive fall, (if it was murder) what was the motive, what would be the motive for the Frenchman to be murdered ? unless a female / jealous boyfriend scenario or gay involvement or just a plain physco mafia ego maniac killer at loose on killagains island -

The new name for KOH Tao

    Killagains island

  4. What's all the fuss? We all know that this will be covered up just like the last murders. There is no rule of law against the rich and powerful.

No, I think you are wrong. This mafia island is coming too much in the spotlight now so they will soon understand they cannot afford any wrongdoing anymore.

May be even justice will be done one day.

Guessing that things like the recent gruesome double murder (of course "not committed by Thai"), the suspicious death of an Englishman one year ago, the recent death of a diver and now this unclear death have happened all the time and been swept under the carpet it is good that the crimes over there are now coming into public and the internet is watching.

Sometimes things have to become worse until they can get better - even if I doubt in this Koh Tao case that they are worse now - it might be just things are uncovered.

Whoever killed the Frenchman may be the same people that killed the man who fell to his death with no bruises, I think some females are working with this scum, setting up falangs when they are pissed as chooks, but what about the motivation what is the motive? seems to not be much motive or we have not heard of any such as theft, then rape in the other case is a motivation but two deaths that are obviously not suicide have to have a female involved unless these men were gay then a nasty katoi might be to blame, the media in this country don't watch Koh Tao, quite pathetic but people are watching-- however the old saying goes and that is, "if you tell a lie long enough people will start to believe it".

Can anyone throw any light on motivation??

  5. 40k gbp in 5 days?

Where is he being attended to?

Exactly he could get a heart transplant for that amount.

I was seriously injured in Udon Thani spent ten days in hospital cost was 47,000 BHt , that was the main public hospital other treatment for scanning at a private hospital 50,000 Bht.

$4000 kiwi about 2000 British pounds so this guy must be in some swish palace.

The treatment I received was excellent and I had my own private room as well.

  6. This has been going on since May. Get yourself to civilization and claim asylum on the grounds of political persecution. Good lurk for reds who have the cash and want a valued passport. But don't try it in Aussie or we'll send ya to PNG and maybe even to Kampuchea. These MFA bozos are just proving to the Kiwi's that anyone who criticises the Junta also has grounds for asylum.

New Zealand does not grant asylum easily, there might be more to this , someone should go to Cory's electrical and ask him, the Thai in the PIC, he has the tee shirt on.

He also must have had money to get to NZ and may have employed a corrupt immigration company to act for him, one of these is owned by an ex MP for National who is known to guarantee you a visa for certain amounts of cash.

The country also jailed a Labour MP for taking backhanders to get Thais visas.

Many of the MP's involved are still MP's.

New Zealand is not clean and green it is as corrupt as any other country and something or someone pulled some strings to get these 2 passports if this is true.

At least Aussie sends them into detention pending.

What do we do with them ?, deport them or give them a house to live in and a benefit to live on.

But if you are a European with just cause to stay or retire in Thailand you fight immigration for a lousy one year visa or one month ect , then if your Russian you can come and go as you please.

  7. Good to see some Thai's speak out against the RTP for once ... would be nice if they looked into all the foreigner "suicides" over the years to determine the real cause of death and who the perpetrators actually were (as if we didn't already know in most cases).

STRANGE COINCIDENCE, the man who fell to his death 50 m or so (no bruises) a while back only shortly after leaving the same bar the British couple were drinking in, and escorted home by family, judged (suicide by RTP) and now a Frenchman dead one hour after leaving a bar.

What seems to be is that a gang of murderers is operating without fear and females are obviously involved in this gang.

Probably the same gang that murdered the British couple and they operate without fear as every death is a suicide and if not then was committed by a Burma worker.

RTP should be looking for the one armed man (Richard Kimble) or a man called Iris.

  8. If ATC cleared them , then they had permission , trying to pass the buck ?whistling.gifwhistling.gifwhistling.gifwhistling.gifwhistling.gif

Still does not explain why the plane crashed, not much attention to the black box, bet we never hear the contents of that , another failed airbus problem is more likely the reason for the crash so there will be many smoke screens, remember the door that flew off a plane I think a Boeing a few years back was covered up until the father of a victim spent his life savings to uncover a faulty door mech.

The aircraft manufacturers blocked him every step of the way it was a good documentary a few years back now but I suspect airbus and the fly by wire planes still have issues.

  9. "... the body of a 29 year old French murder suicide Koh Tao man was found hanging from the ceiling of his rented bungalow."

The prevalent official police theory is that two Burmese men escaped from jail, hanged the victim and snuck back into their cells without anyone noticing.whistling.gif

Correct he may have been a witness and as they enjoy it so much in jail they had to make sure he would not testify.

  10. Fear not. In the midst of a global downturn, Thailand will be rescued by Chinese tourist hordes and massive new government debt (aka "economic stimulus"). Happiness and prosperity will abound. Next question?

    I agree with you 100%

It's already happening bus loads of them, I used to drive tours in NZ the place swamped with them they direct all their people to Chinese owned business and shops no good for genuine Thai economy.

The tour guides rip their people off and lie to them about where to go for shopping and eating and backhanders are rife.

Hua Hin swamped some evenings with bus loads of them, I was eating on one of the Pier restaurant's wont go there again it's turned into overpriced bland horrible food and filthy toilets.

  11. More high quality Chinese tourists running amok. This is less interesting than some Hi-so tossing noodles...but it should not be less interesting.

THESE are the Chinese coming here. They are worse than the Russian mafia in Pattaya.

I don't know who is worse, I've watched card skimmers in action one lot in chiang mai looked Thai, the other gang I saw were Russian in BK.

Reported the chiang mai lot to the Kasikorn bank manager on the Monday morning as it was a sunday.

The Russians I steared clear of mainly as lots of people know me in BK and don't want to dual with death.

  12. It's shocking to see how so many people want to see these guys in jail forever, catching aids or dying... for gods sake they are "accused" not convicted.

And, it's a property offence, not rape.

Ok fine, I wish they get off with a slap on the wrist and send the message to other card skimmers it's open season in Thailand. Happy?

Card skimming is an industry in Thailand mainly run by Russians the fact that they have higher visa status than us poor old English and Co means to me that some big fat Russian wedding was made to guess who?

  13. Copied from the Scuba Junction website.

"Safety and Quality first ….with an eco friendly touch" is our motto.

All our dive groups (courses and fun dives) are limited to maximum 4 divers to ensure close supervision and a more enjoyable time under water.

This poor young girl was entitled to the supervision and safety that she paid for and instead she died through lack of it. The tragedy is even more useless as we all know that after a few days she will be forgotten and it will be business as usual for the incompetents that run the water sports in this country.

    R.I.P. Silji.

Well said, no one will face disciplinary action over obvious negligence, lod doh taxis the same it's more important to bust top police with billions of baht encroaching on others territory, that's probably why they were busted.

  14. Isn't online gambling rigged anyway? Who would want to play?

what football were they betting on? Thai matches ? then they are rigged not surprising -- rigged I mean top NZ cricket players involved in match fixing as well as overseas boys and then there is the NRL comp footballers involved in suspicious activities accused of match fixing.

If things carry on like this we will have to put up with honest gambling and there will be no more RTP left in Thailand!

  15. 'happily there was no gunplay' Oh that's nice.

Sounds to me like the play was card skimming, and the soldiers were confident that they would not be sprung as they must have been dealing with these gangsters for a while. however there must have been f all in the pot at the time and they feared greater consequences if they did not come up with the dosh.

Just renew their visas and they can start allover in a different district as they are quality tourists and deserve permanent residence.

But that's just a theory from me, might be something bigger!

  16. From buckets laced with mosquito repellent I read. Good luck to these families trying to get justice, with Thai island Mafias reach going high up it will be some task.

Probably from the cheap charlie toxic bed bug spray , the same as what happened to the kiwi girls in Chiang Mai.

An undercover news team went to Chiang Mai and took samples from the room and the air con filters, they were anylsed in NZ as being deadly toxic,I cant remember the name of the chemical but it was what killed these girls and a few other nationalities in different rooms.

I think it was a previous mayor or could have been current who owned the guest house and nothing was ever done about the toxoligy report or anyone made to answer for this.

Shame on Murry MC Cully the National MP for overseas affairs who did sweet nothing about it.

What hope is there for the Quebec girls or the Burmese 2 when our own politicians are to gutless to stand up for their own.

  17. More people should put video clips of these Kamikaze van drivers on Youtube as its the only way to get things done here as its all about saving face by the authorities. I still see these mini bus drivers Not getting stopped at check points. They are the most offensive drivers on the roads in Thailand. They have no respect for fair paying passengers safety.

Ive said it before on thai visa and I have been in one of them that smashed into another vehicle and kept going only to be chased by the vehicle he hit, then after a brief disscussion he jumped back in the van and continued lunatic driving.

After another hour of this and several more near misses ,nearly being killed as he was a complete lunitic did i give him a mouthfull and he slowed down the thai people in the back thanked me with big smiles my wife told me thai people will say nothing as the driver will loose face and drive even faster to piss them off even more.

Several of these lunatics have killed themselves and passengers all over thailand I have even written to the editor of the nation and the BK post who did not even reply.

I have also been in several where the drivers have been bolicked by other passengers its time these stupid lunatics were stopped but how ? is the question.

  18. I have said it often and say it again: The silence over this coming from Hannah's and David's parents make me sick! They are the only ones who could turn this case around and make sure that the real murderers are being put to justice.

I have no idea why you have made this insensitive and ridiculously naive and stupid statement.

    1. The family are polite, law-abiding people dealing with a grieving process.

    2. They will have been advised by the UK govt, UK police, etc. to make no public statements.

    3. Thailand has a very strong record of ignoring and becoming stubborn in the face of foreign pressure. What would any statement from the family do here?

    4. Later on, after the trial and the inquest, you may hear more from them.

See Kirsty Jones case for comparison.

    Lest we forget!

Do posters remember the Kiwi who had a gym in pattaya who was shot dead on his motorbike close to beach road 2.

His GF had taken money that was supposed to be used to set up a new Gym from his bank.'

The Thai police let her go after questioning.

Then his parents came to the LOS demanding answers with international media coverage, it turned out the GF of a few years had a thai boyfiiend all along and he and his mate shot the Kiwi man dead.

Nothing would have hapened had not the parents pushed and they did a gutsy and good job.

They were grieving as well and I hope the parents of Hannah and David can muster the courage above the terrible grief they are suffering to do the same as the NZ parents did.

I think that the poster who mentioned they should do this is 100% correct and I hope for the 2b boys they do it.

Otherwise there will be 2 more innocent dead boys and maybe a few wittnesses on the conscience of those who care.

  19. IMO, this lawyer is starting to sound as though he won't be causing too much dust........probably more than a little scared.....but I think he's a brave guy taking this on, but the system here will get him if he starts to get too cocky!!

Disclosure, no case would make court in western countrys without it! Is there no law or requirement for disclosure in this country?

As for the wittness's if they are illegal migrants they should now be in diplomatic protective custody to testify , that would be far safer for them.To remain in Thailand without this and say nothing they become fish bate.

They could then be sent home by and under protection of their embassy, if I was a wittness without embassy protection I would be gone already.

Then no one has mentioned who is employing these illegal migrants who are rife all over Thailand, probably employed by the same gangsters that run the island yet nothing said about laying charges against them.

As for the Brittish police and David Cameron they are only interested in political motives, with all due respect to all Britts the NewZealand government did nothing about the Chiang Mai poisenings even after an undercover news team posing as tourists went to the Hotel and took samples and had them anylised in NZ and the results proved the room had been sprayed with a cheap deadly toxin that killed.

    The perpertators walked.

Then in Fergusson USA cops can shoot people dead without fear of prosecution same has happened in NZ.

The world is rotten not just Thai police , however this is one of the most blatant and damming crimes to become a farce in front of the whole world and unless 99% of the people in this world following this case are stupid then Thailands tourist industry and reputation is now suffering as we wont forget.

My prediction is another murder coming soon on KOH TAO, by the same bulletproof mob and I will never ever go there as will any other tourist who has half a brain

  20. The British report is finished, filed has been read by the people that need to read it. The British are waiting for the Thai authorities to hang themselves. The report will show the Thai investigation to be a total farce and an embarrassment to this Nation. Why do you think the Thai courts won't take this case?...The British that's why...they are shit scared and rightly so.

The British Police report is due in January. May be too late for the two lads.

Assuming the Brits have sent a preliminary report (summary?) to Thai officials (and we don't know for sure, because the Brits have thus far done everything clandestinely) - it would then be up to those same Thai officials to decide what to do with it.

For starters, if there's anything in the report which might implicate the Headman's people, they'll want that stuffed and kept quiet. Similarly, if there's anything in the report which may be of use to the defense of the Scapegoats, Thai officials will also want that stifled. In sum, it's like giving Thaksin advance notice of what the tax officials are thinking/planning in order to give the tax-dodger plenty of time to hide his assets and obfuscate the issue.

Let's hope the Brits, when ready to release their findings, will do so in an open way (to the press and the public) and not keep hiding behind the skirt of diplomatic proclivities. Frankly, it makes Brit experts look like they care more for diplomatic niceties than for finding justice for two fellow Brits, and putting the real culprits in prison for life, (or death penalty). It will be sobering, even for them, when the real criminals strike again. Who will it be - your daughter or sister or niece?

Wasn't one of the brothers caught on cctv supposed to be in Bangkok that night and then takes a staged DNA test in front of the media.

And where is the cctv fottage the police have as evidence against the B2?

  21. ATTENTION:

We need to brainstorm and find a resolution to stop these harassment from the Thonglor Police! So, what can we do, any suggestions? Does anyone has a connection with CNN, Fox news or Huffpost? We should let the world know about the harassments involving tourists and expats in Bangkok from Thonglor Police Department!

BK post if you know a euro reporter there that should embarress them, remember they didnt bust the people selling child porn untill BK post reported it, however they are still colour blind they cant tell the difference between a black african or a white russian working in Suhkhomvit.

  22. A picture says a thousand words.

    Or two. Not guilty

Local police identified Mr Montriwat as a suspect caught on cctv the night of the killings. Deputy police gen Somyot Pompanmuang said both brothres denied involvement and had been cleared by DNA testing. BK post. published 30th sept writer Terry Fredrickson.

I think they must have been just exercising for an hour or so before the roads becme to busy to run up and down.
