A juvenile and a baseball bat killing, over nothing?!. What do you say here...
Just been up there, looked like a nice place , bike for dad was on everyone nice and happy while something to do.
Sign of the times unfortunately, happens in every country, gang bashings and murder are quite frequent in NZ.
Alcohol low employment , bums on seats action movies, zombie movies, and in Thailand soap opera rubbish.
The poor old world is becoming Mad Max more and more by the day.

that's the greatest turnaround since Lazarus
Do not be fooled ! The microchip technology means issueing new cards to everyone, 65,000,000 of them , the technology that goes with it will earn some company a fortune.
Information just like the chip on passports will never be declared.
The data base will let the government know who's doing what and where, then the parasites can market and target areas where they want to.
It is a spying tool and information will be sold on just like the government census information in other countries is sold to marketing companies.
This will go ahead but will seem to be toned down.
Big brother wants to make some money out of this and the boys in the park need to recieve.

Two points:
1. Farang teachers have made the news dozens of times re this matter over many years and various authorities have quickly said there backgrounds etc., should be checked. Why is it still not happening?
2. Hope Thai teacher candidates are also checked re the same subject. You can hear / read about plenty of stories of Thai teachers who also touch / molest / rape Thai students.
The education ministry needs to be dismantled totally and re-birthed with completely different objectives, principles, and values. And hopefully 90% of the staff would be new and highly capable.
To many faces to loose face here, should it not be the immigration who are checking falaang teachers backgrounds rather than a school teacher derrrrrr.

I'd like to see more effective tax collection measures implemented (i.e. Taxing those who sell online through bank transfers only), but I'm not entirely sure how the ID card scheme would help in this process?
I'd like to see 1,000 times more efficient management of public funds before they ever get within 1,000 MILES of effective tax collection.
There are, like, 99 other things wrong with what you wrote too.
Effective taxation of the people probably means taxing the poor.
This would mean closing down street vendors and markets, then building more Macros and tesco's, Mc donalds , Burger Kings.
Some political lobyists might be pressuring for this, Thailand has no wellfare system if it wasn't for street vendors and Markets the place would turn into Burma, there would be horrific poverty and crime rate would climb.
The lobyists though would insist that this would create employment, and provide the government with more funds for infrastructure ect.
The people they would insist will be better off.
Next thing he might think of is bringing in food and hygiene regulations to kick the process along, then they have already invited Monsanto (the company that poisened Vietnam with agent orange) in to wreck their agriculture system with GM seed that has created havoc everywhere along with roundup spray which goes along with the deal, I wish I could think of some more good Ideas for them.

What happened to their final warning, ban them all now
They could erect signs on the beach,
Beware help may not be on your side after being ripped off on Jet Ski Ride.

havent you heard that guns increase the size of your pecker, also makes you a man and saves face really well. With a combination of these things no wonder there are so many gun deaths here.
Saving face is probably the main reason , coupled with road rage , BF jealousy and whyskey.
And of course that they can get their hands on them.

its the same old con, Thai girl gets pregnant farang will take care, first of all could you not see by her body that she has had kids before ? it sounds to me like she really has not been honest with you and trapped you deliberately with this kid by telling you about it after its too late to get an abortion. sorry to say and I know many people wont agree with me but I would walk away quick.
Possible , now this provides a life line for her and family.
I have thai wife and yound child, born in NZ, I took in her mother who loves the child to bits and we now live in LOS.
Works out ok but I go no further than that and don't involve myself with other family finances.
You may want to be sure Baby is yours as years ago an old GF tried to convince me she was pregers to me but it was her thai BF , I got well away from her.

What the .... no police in the picture?! I've seen photo ops with 6 or more smiling broadly while standing behind a pickpocket.
Maybe don't want to blow their cover, possible revenge for non acknowledgement of having paid fines.
-
"police believe he was drunk", but the headline seems to state the true fact reeked of alcohol, so which one is better at investigating a scene the Police or the Reporter?
Maybe the smell was from the whyskey bottle that broke in the crash
Drove back from Kanchantaburi last night, saw many weaving cars, one guy cut from the outside lane straight across me and the other lanes just missining the car on the inside lane because he was going to miss his left hand turn.
Then weaving trucks, hoons on motorbikes, speeding overtaking loonies overtaking into oncomeing traffic, Just a normal day driving in LOS>

A witness told police that there were two women on the motorbike, who'd just left a nearby Family Mart on the opposite side of the road, and had attempted to make a U-turn, to head back in the direction of Patong when they were finally rammed by the pickup truck from behind.
I have always thought that was a stupid place for a Family Mart right off the busy hill road. Not really many nearby homes, seen many bikes crossing over the busy road .... just crazy.
RIP the Brit lady ....
Does not look like slight damage to me, the bumper is pushed right back over the guard, looks like some idiot going to fast.

I have a fair bit of experience with bed bugs , and if its them they should leave tell tale small dark brown spots about one sixth their body size on your sheets and particularly in concentrated spots on the mattress.
Usually they live in the piping folds of it.
But they also can live in the folds and joins of the frame of wood beds and slats and skirting boards .
Bedbugs bite in LINES as they walk.
If the bites are random then usually its another bug/insect , like mozzies or fleas.
Your treatments are fine , and what you saw at the market fits their description , EXCEPT that they are very secretive bugs and are VERY rarely out wandering around.
Ive been bitten by mosquitos on the neck and the bite swell making me think bed bug but not the case just plane old mossi.
There is a Hotel I stayed at down soi 94 Hua Hin, materess had bed bugs bit the hell out of us first night , could see them in materres folds , lucky I had put my bags well away from bed.
Moved out after complaining but the staff said , no have bed bug.

The white car just drove off like nothing happened…..lol.
Probably scarred of getting blame , if he tried to help them and they died.
Doesn't make you feel safe if you had an accident and no help arrived.

"In regard to the arrest of members of a group which set out to uncover the Ratchapakdi Park corruption plot, Gen Prayut said he ordered the arrest himself, adding that officials are currently in the process of interrogating the individuals so as to identify others involved."
Is this a simple case of arresting the 'whistle blowers' ?
They stopped the train at Hua Hin and unhooked the carriage they were in and arrested them for their own good.
The were apparently only students who were going to stage a protest for an investigation.
So now they are to be interrogated - for their own good?
Maybe taught attiude ajustment sounds more like it.

My first year in Chiang rai was the same. I ended up hospitalised with pneomonia. Needed heater in our home before Drs allowed me home. Everywhere was sold out. The issue is the lack of heating when indoors. I really did not enjoy the cold weather in the north. Interestingly all the other expats told me it had never been that cold before, but it's seems it is a regular occurrence, and in hindsight wish I would have been better prepared. In the uk no way will people work in offices below 17c without heat.
In NZ 17deg C is a nice comfortable temp , 12 or less in the winter is comfortable , but here IM frozen at 17c due to acclimatising, your blood gets thinner when you live in high temp areas.

O.K., lets all get excited about a certain poster who soon will come along to say "what public transport?"
"Conductor, drum roll please".
To be fair I think the article is about minibuses and coaches used by the public.
First time offence of 1000 Bht won't worry them.

I find most farang drivers drive that way because they can get away with it. if they drove like that at home they either got a big fine or lose their licence while in Thailand if stopped they get a 200thb fine.
True, young hoons in NZ are stupid idiots on the Rd, in Australia as well only the police presence slows them down, if lax police presence was the status que in other countries beside asian countries then the problems wouold be the same.
Given that NZ has a population of 5 mill and Thailand 65 mill then 13 times more maniacs on the Rd, couple that with lax Police or Rd education and you have a fireworks display.

Their true lasting legacy, these monuments will symbolize their mark on history.
True or false they have made a huge monumental statement that will last a very long time

I'd take Thailand over the the UK for a safer place regarding the present day dangers.. IMHO.
I think I will just stay in my local soi bar and venture into town once a week, stay away from BK and Pattaya, phuket and no worries.
Four down six to go, but they are no threat as we don't have terrorists in LOS.
It is as remarkable as the Armys investigation into corruption at the army park in Hua Hin which found no wrong doing.
Until something goes wrong don't worry be happy.

Cycle for dad should never happen in this mad driving country, four cyclists killed in the last few days by mad driviers and hit and runs.
It is bad enough driving at any time, truckies are mostly mad I rode with one once to deliver container to my house , scared the sh ee t out of me.
Cab was full of that caffeine drink he was chain smoking , talking on cell phone and overtaking recklessly all the way from BK to Hua hin.
I had to call my wife and get her to talk to him to slow down, apart from that he knocked a motorbike just after leaving the depot did not stop the bike recovered, absolute maddnes from 10 seater taxi drivers , truck driver , bus drivers and Hoons on these roads but the glorious leaders past and present can't run a road safety education campaign , just a bike for dad.
I sincerely hope that no more die tomorrow from mad drunken and crazy driving.

Am I right in thinking that one has to show prof that one has relinquished you former citizenship before obtaining Thai citizenship? And if so why would anyone wish to do this as it would create many problems when you want to travel abroad?
Maybe you would loose your pension and free medical care if your country has any, I know a Denmark man who has thai citizenship many years and he needs visa to go to Denmark.

How can television series' educate when so many topics are off limits such as corruption ?
If soaps started to get serious they'd lose their audience fast.
Maybe they could start a TV series about road carnage and driving habits
how many years can you keep a scooter in Thailand?
in Motorcycles in Thailand
Posted
If you keep it running for 50 years or more you can open a bar and use it as a prop.
