Never shy to allege conspiracy if the meme doesn't fit into your world view. From the Snopes review of this incident...

Bayan told TV2 that even though she felt insulted, she planned to let the matter rest until she found out that Hodne had posted some "sensitive" information about her on Facebook. At that point, she complained to police:

At least to me the hairdresser, with her political allegiances, is acting out an anti Muslim  political game for media attention.

Equally the Muslim woman might have previously learned off the hairdressers political allegiances. The chronology of events is difficult to prove either way. P.s There is a difference between a conspiracy theory and a possibility, especially when Muslim grievance mongering is by no means rare.

Who here, pray, has opposed the banning of all face coverings, including the burka, on security grounds?

Who indeed eh? Not all members here are privy to the Out of the Box private forum, but there was a thread there once discussing UK government proposals to ban the Birka. Here is what you wrote.

If you are in favour of banning all face coverings in public places then I can have some sympathy for your views, even if I don't agree.

But banning just the birka and allowing all the others is pure discrimination and cannot be justified.

In the meantime I suggest you hope over to Syria and give ISIS a piece of your mind.

  3. They have a large military, yes, but that does not make you a good military (as shown in other countries).

I think the leader would sacrifice his own mother to get his own way so I can see the Turkish Military in for the long haul and its only a matter of time before the body bags start getting sent back to Turkey

Have done 3 year in Iraq myself as a civi, 2 at Taji and 1 near Basra and military tours before that, I still get confused as to what is going on in some of these parts.

There have been so many purges of the military by Erdogan that it is hard to imagine this has not weakened them in terms of both leadership and morale. The tanks we see on film rolling into Syria are over fifty year old technology, the Israelis have supplied Arab special ops with hardware so advanced that it would be a turkey shoot should they turn them on the Turkish military. This does not mean it will happen, unless of course the Arab nations decide to do so. I have seen footage of top of the line recent soviet armour being destroyed so have little doubt as to who would win should Turkey have to fight them one on one.

  4. The woman is obviously medically and morally unfit to be president. There is self-evident collusion between the press and the mega rich to censor or silence information damaging to the Clinton campaign. There's a clip at the end of the video link which shows her having a seizure on camera. Look at the reaction of the journalist who asked her a question if you are still unsure what you are seeing is normal or not.

It Turkey a new world power? Does this country have a large enough military to go against Russia?  I wonder what will happen if it keeps trying to be something it is not. Wake up Turkey, you are not a large country to take on Russia, America, or even most of the European military. Defend your borders, but leave the war in Syria to the other countries.

Why has someone on not taken out a certain Syrian leader?  Maybe this would help get to an ending at least,  of the Civil war situation in that country.

    Just my opinion of course

    Geezer

But they are a member of NATO. This should be rectified as soon as possible. NATO only reduces risk of conflict as a confederation of stable democracies. Turkey is anything but at present.

  6. Turkey went into Syria on false pretenses. They took Jarablus with no fighting because IS were allowed to move out. This will imho end badly for Turkey as they have united several disparate groups against them. The U.S 'strategy' in the region has now taken on tragicomic proportions. Groups of U.S trained and supplied rebels are now fighting each other, and as Rand Paul pointed out all of this was done unconstitutionally.

  7. What really galls most honest people who have a smidgen of ethics themselves is the recognition that Crooked Hillary has absolutely no shame whatsoever at all. Will say anything to anyone to get elected.

Not to mention the media running interference for her. Twitter have been deliberately tinkering with account settings to stop Wikileaks from trending. If the democrats didn't have a stranglehold on the media Hillary would have been toast ages ago, eating breakfast from behind bars too no doubt.

  8. HRC has now gone 260 days without a press conference. At this rate she will try to go the full distance with 'no comment' as her manifesto. The press must be burning the midnight oil to try and anticipate and attempt damage limitation for the eagerly awaited Wikileaks releases.

  9. ISIS could and should have been dealt with years ago, but everyone took a step back for various reasons. The latest purported attempt to tackle them by Turkey has more to do with limiting the ambitions of the Kurds than it does tackling ISIS. This is a tragedy because the most effective local group on the ground tackling ISIS has been the Kurds, if they are distracted by Turkey it may delay an attack on the ISIS stronghold of Raqqa (sp?).

It is rumored that Arab special forces are finally dealing with ISIS, but keeping a low profile in so doing. This is no doubt due to domestic opinion if the Saudi poll is anywhere near correct.
