Of course, an over the top reaction but these three should have known that revving engines is bound to upset some people and that was confirmed to them by the verbal confrontation. From there when things escalated, the over the top reaction as often happens in Thailand was a definite possibility.

OCD is a better diagnosis, but you should also know that in most Western countries where recycling is done mechanically by computer programmed video and jets of air they ask that plastic bottles, soda/beer cans and cartons should not be crushed. The video/computer has a harder time recognizing the item to be recycled and the programmed jets of air are not as effective in the separation process as the objects move along the conveyor belt. Not sure what the recycling process is performed here.

Can any of the experts here explain why recent converts to islam seem so compelled to carry out terror atrocities? Is it just an unfortunate co-incidence, or is there something in the islamic teachings that encourage it?
It is the converts that you have the most to worry about. Always has been.

His days are numbered. Maybe he will have a few more days than I would like, but I know the search is relentless and will one day be successful.

Ridiculous for foreigners having to pick up garbage while they are in Thailand.

The prices for drugs and services need to be clearly and simply displayed. Also, made available online and in the reception/emergency admittance area. "All in" prices for common services along with a breakdown of the costs. Patients need to be able to make informed decisions no bait and switch, no padding of the bills after the fact.

No surprises here. The ambulance drivers drive with the same skill and caution (none) as the general public but think the blue light makes them invincible.

Yes, but of course safety is relative. The problem is the other guy, and in particular crazy drivers in cars/trucks, vans/busses are the most dangerous. Other scooter drivers riding with no head/lights on the wrong side of the road are also dangerous but to a lesser degree.

Time to deepen the reservoirs so they will not have to endure this again. Invest a little at the appropriate time which is now with the water drained.

I give out a little stimulus package to the local ladies about twice a week. It seems very appreciated and welcomed. It may not be the answer but I recommend everyone do their bit to support the local economy to the best and fullest of their ability.

Nothing to do with Brexit and everything to do with value. With the devaluation of the Turkish currency, you get a great deal for your money. Beautiful clear water and weather, cheap, cheap, cheap. And we all know the Brits like cheap.

From his appearance alone he has no business being a taxi driver, or maybe I am missing the point that taxi drivers are part of the criminal/mafia underground. He certainly appears to be a lowlife.

You might want to consider a METV in the future. Then you are good for six months with just border bounces.

Was there ever any doubt that this would happen. China promises everything to get what it wants and then step by step walks it back, or like trade agreements agreed to with Nixon in the 70's just stalls, saying these changes take time. And the West continues to wait. China's politics and creep is generational while politics in the West is from election cycle to election cycle. China plays 3D Chess while the West is playing Checkers. Nobody should be surprised.

"Two-thirds of American millennials surveyed in a recent poll cannot identify what Auschwitz is"
Probably true but two-thirds of Americans can't find Canada on a map and 90% can't find Isreal. This is merely an indictment on the education system. Nutters, whether harmless flat earthers, birthers, to more harmful anti vaxers and right up to extremist fringe Nazi or ISIS groups will be found in every country.

Rubbish, the rise of the right is merely a response to the left bleeding heart PC crowd that has dominated politics throughout the West. Anchored in liberal arts education it has grown steadily. As I went through school at least 80% of teachers were NDP socialists. Two of them would regularly run for office when Federal and Provincial elections were called. Fiscal and socially, balance is what is needed, not extremism, but the pendulum has swung too far to the left which eventually has brought an upwelling of the right as people get sick of PC identity politics preached by the left.

They will not be missed. Hopefully, a few more will follow them into the great unknown. RIP to the woman who was killed in the crossfire.

When I took my drivers license in Canada in the mid 70's we wrote a written learners permit referred to as a 365(valid 1 year) and booked a drivers test for when we felt comfortable being tested. The cost was 2 dollars. Of course, most everyone took a Drivers Education course that was offered out of the high school that would qualify you for a 30% car insurance discount. That said, we felt a little hard done by as the previous generation just went to the licensing office, filled out a form, paid the fee, and were issued a license. No muss, no fuss. Maybe Cambodia should adopt that system. After all, no need to know traffic laws when they are not followed anyway.
