  1. Surely we could. Yet, they have to be "allowed" to exist and flourish - which really hasn't existed forever. Any inquire regarding the possibilities of such independent or alternative opposition would be clearly moot. They have to exist and a majority must vote for them. But that is not what is happening in Thailand. The masses vote again and again for corrupt politicians or family members of those corrupt politicians. And then they are somehow surprised when they have a corrupt government. A few years the could habe voted for Abhisit. And honest highly educated guy. But he was obviously not what most Thais wanted... (and yes I know Suthep was part of that deal)
  2. Students on the streets? Are students who want to improve the country arsonists? Would they show up anywhere were they know an aggressive mob wants to create trouble? What happened today on Thai streets has nothing to do with peaceful protests and no peaceful protester would mix up with that mob. And that brings obviously up the question: Who are these people in the aggressive mob? What do they want? And who organizes them and pays for them? Which brings us back to the title of this thread.
  3. I admit I know nothing about the sporting world. But I think I know this part: There are the people who do the running, jumping, playing, whatever. And there are the people who watch, mostly on TV. I understand the people who i.e. run. My sister does a lot of that and she likes it. That's why she does it. But if people sit at home with a beer and some chips and shout "run faster" and complain that a fast runner was "only" very fast but not the fastest in the world, now I have difficulties understanding that concept.
  4. I improve, and it's fun to learn new skills and improve others. But often there is a point were it would be necessary to work a lot more for just a little progress, and then the question is obviously: is it worth it?
  5. No actually it never happend to me. I.e. I like playing pool, and I am not too bad at it. But obviously there are lots of other people who are a lot better than I am. Sometime when I try a difficult shot in a game and miss it one or the other guy tells me something like: You have to train that shot again and again and then you will be able to make it. And my response is something like: No, I don't have to do that and I don't want to do that. I play pool for fun. And if I would have to train for hours to get better what would be the point of that? Yes, I would be better, but it wouldn't be fun anymore. So why should I do it? To be a miserable champion who is a perfect player but who doesn't have fun doing that? No, that is certainly not my intention. And basically that is the same with work or whatever. I am good at a some things and I like to do those things. And I know it would be a lot of work to get better. Maybe if I have a good motivation I will do that. But in many cases I won't because it would be a lot of work for something I don't really care about. Or maybe to say it in another way: If I play pool in a pub I am happy to be in the group of the better players. But I don't care if I am the best of them. "One of the good" is good enough for me.
  6. Question somewhere in farang land: Do you have a father and a mother or two fathers or two mothers? I have some more questions ready but I guess they would offend some people and they would be anti PC and possibly not even woke....
  7. Then maybe the protesters should think if they want to escalate the situation. No escalation, no problems.
  8. Then why do they do it? It's not that they are out in a war to defend their country. They could sit at home and have a cup of tea and be happy - without any sacrifices.
  9. I am always glad that we have experts in this forum who know things a lot better than others. But unfortunately they are not able to share their knowledge. That obviously brings up the question how they know. How do they know something that can't be discussed? Some insider knowledge? Maybe the freemasons or the illuminati? And last but not least if anybody does not have their alleged expert knowledge then the others are obviously sadly out of their depth. Yeah, sure, should we call you Yoda?
  10. Yeah, if I would have cared then I could have googled it. But if I would care then I probably would have learned it sometime in the last 30 years or so. And who are Torvill and Dean? Let me guess, I could google it. ????
  11. I know lots of people who don't like Prayut and they don't like Thaksin even more. And all of them think there is no point now to have these stupid protests and spread Covid even more. More protesters with Covid, more police with Covid, more traffic jams, fires, etc. - for what?
  12. ? What is the point of those protesters? What is the point of fighting with the police and starting fires? There is no point except creating chaos and bad news. Now we can all guess which criminal fugitive wants that. If people want a better government then why don't they suggest better leaders? Where are those brilliant leaders who are honest and work for the people? Where? I think it's stupid when some people think the criminal fugitive would do anything better. Why? Because he tells them in the hindsight he would have done things differently? What a genius. 555
  13. Does it? I work and sometimes play on my PC more or less all the time. And I ride motorcycles. I have no problems at all with my hands. I use MS ergonomic keyboard and mouse. Expensive but good!
  14. Where does that number come from? Is it your personal estimation or from some PR article on fb?
  15. And will they get Covid vaccinations faster when they fight with the police and start fires?
  16. Good that they are not called activists for democracy or something like that anymore. People who really want to improve Thailand should know that fighting with the police is a stupid and useless idea. I hope every arsonist will be arrested and jailed for years. And they obviously they should pay for the damage which they did.
  17. Riding motorcycle in real or in a computer game? If in a game, get a joystick or gamepad. It is a LOT better.
  18. Summary: You have to try it yourself. And I know that is difficult in Covid times. Lots of different people have lots of different preferences. I agree with @robblok, recently I worked on a horrible keyboard and I recommended the user that she should buy a decent keyboard because that would make typing a lot more comfortable. Her reply was that she just bought this keyboard which she liked a lot more than others...
  19. Thai girl scams farang - that idiot, why did he think she loves him? Foreigner scamming old Thai women - that a@hole, how could he do that to her?
