  1. As is accepting it, so who are you going to go after?
  2. Correction: she mistook the red light for a green light, not the other way round. Of note: there are numerous intersections where lights are stacked one above, or adjacent to, each other. The ahead light goes green, but the right turn light stays red, and vice versa. I was involved in a head on collision with a driver who made the same mistake, on Chelsea embankment of all places. Made an oncoming right, right in front of me. Kapow! At combined speeds of 40mph. Yes, it can and does happen. Our brains swap things around. Red and green are complementary colours.
  3. Korn? Is that the band? Or the guy in the photo? Or ...? This new feed AN uses is hilarious.
  4. "The unnamed man named Phakin" haha that's made my day. But nothing in the article or the link suggesting ID card fraud won't make a difference, so where's the headline come from? Like the foreigners on the electoral register, of course it makes a difference. For once, accusations of a steal might just carry some weight. How can you trust the results with such nonsense openly admitted?
  5. No, from what you've quoted, you have absolutely nothing to support that. The 4 year old article only talks about money held in US savings accounts, which my reading tells me are not very good for saving in the first place, and equal numbers of people (33%) save elsewhere. And isn't it 88% of Thais, and 69% (as of 2019) Americans? How many Thais live hand to mouth? Luckily many are still able to. I don't suppose the same can be said of Americans, or Europeans.
  6. Youve butchered the article: In 2019, 69% of respondents said they have less than $1,000 in a savings account compared with 58% in 2018. Completely changes the content.
  7. Same outside kt branch in tepprasit on Tuesday. But all clear Wednesday. Maybe something to do with the holiday, and it being first of month.
  8. As a follow up, is it possible for a foreigner to register a visitor online as part of the TM30 process? I was told a Thai ID was required.
  9. Ok. We'll send your commander in chief the bill. I don't get "I am not smart but I am white boy". Is that supposed to be Ironic? Are you smart? It's not possible to tell either way from your posts. If you fully support Russia, it's unclear. From what you say above, the West wanted the war, but Russia declared it. Do you really believe that? So Putin is doing everyone a favour (apart from the whole of Ukraine and millions of others around the world). It's not his fault. It's what his enemies wanted. They made me do it. Ah yes, the sad drunk Russian weeping over his broken down tractor. Infamy infamy, they've all got it infamy. He never wanted friendship. He never wanted to negotiate. He just wanted an excuse to start the war, and now, he just wants victory!
  10. I think another instance where, for example, you're challenging the accuracy or factuality of the other party, it's quite legitimate to say " ... sure, but what about...". There's never ever just one side to an argument. It's also a tad more polite and understated than just coming out with an expletive and a flood of invective. On this forum, of course, that is impossible.
  11. Yes, but the OP was trying to identify them.
  12. I don't suppose the RTP publishes stats, but out of sheer boredom, here are my suggestions: 15% were caught on a whim (not sure how that works. Maybe along Beach Road), 20% grassed up (by whom? You'd have to know somebody's visa details, but the RTP like to mention this, for a 100 reasons I can think of), 35% apprehended for another (minor) offence (most likely reason IMHO), 30% random checks? Checking what? Passport? Anyway, they only catch a few. Maybe there are only a few. Medals all round.
  13. "Muang Pattaya police had got a call and found the assailant's pick-up parked opposite Jomtien beach soi 14/1. " Yeah, but hold on. 150 km away, someone in Jomtien spots his white Isuzu pickup parked down a side road? Thinks "Hey, I know that white pickup. It belongs to a bloke I know from Nontaburi". Bit of a coincidence. Geezer must be thinking "What are the chances?", right? Nah. They're probably YouTubers looking for views, or maybe "influencers", looking for influence, presumably.
  14. I guess it's TM30s. Possibly a bounty offered too.
  15. Traffic police? Or is that Highway?
  16. Hey, <deleted> I may be, snowflake I ain't!
  17. All I can say in parting is, the Russians I've met here in Pattaya over the last year or two have been nothing but polite, friendly and thoroughly nice people. It's insane we're locked in this bitter, savage war. Nobody wants it, except for you know who. I'm looking towards complete disengagmenr as the only hope. But with or without Donbas/Crimea, that seems to be the sticking point for both sides. Donbas lies in complete ruins. What a monument to the utter futility of war.
  18. These figures are from 6 years ago. How about they post figures for this year? I found this link, but can't make head or tail of it. https://www.bot.or.th/App/BTWS_STAT/statistics/BOTWEBSTAT.aspx?reportID=188&language=ENG
  19. If you Google "police uniform in thailand", then click "police force", then the "Images" button, there's a large selection of captioned photos.
  20. And my 800k for the retirement extension? At 5% pa inflation, that's a depreciation of 40k. Makes 12.5k to an agent look like a no brainer. And it's pocket money for maybe 10 Thais. There are places to earn in the region of 7.5% pa. But high street banks are just robbers. That 800k interest free loan they can lend out at whatever the going rate is.
  21. Well said. These figures...why publish them? 6 years out of date. Is that the latest they can find? COVID probably emptied millions of these accounts. And now rampant inflation. Buy land. Forget the banks. They won't feed you.
  22. But that's what's going to happen now, isn't it? Yes, then NATO can invade Russia. As if!
  23. Sure, go ahead. But we're talking Russia here, and Europe. Not the US or colonial Africa. And most of your arguments have been what ifs. Pointless.
  24. So you're saying NATO played no part in Putin's decision to invade Ukraine? So why did he then? And please, not the old denazification of fascist illegal Kiev government and rescuing our oppressed Russian brothers in Donbas garbage.
  25. Hmmm. Seem to remember Russia invaded Poland in an unholy non aggression pact with nazi Germany. That lasted until Hitler had the bright idea of invading Russia as well. So what do those post soviet occupied countries owe to Russia? Absolutely SFA. It could well be payback time.
