I'm 73. I do keto, no bread, spuds, rice or pasta, sugar or swerteners, except erythritol. Only fruit, strawberries and star fruit. I eat a lot of cheese and avocados, leaf veg, leeks, mushrooms, eggs, fat meat. I find cooking with cheese helps when you need something to make you feel satisfied, as no potatoes etc. I think it's the umami. Been on keto over a year. Initially I lost 10kg over first 4 months, then my weight just bottomed out at between 81 and 84kg. I'm just over 6'. Someone once told me losing weight is 70% diet, 30% exercise. That formula seems to have worked for me. Controlling carbs is good all round philosophy, at least, for me.
