Ok, I'll bite. If you mean Cambodia, in terms of the EEC, it is vital safe, robust transport links are established between Thailand and Cambodia. On the Thai side, millions, probably billions of baht have been spent widening and improving the Trad - Klong Yai - Haad Lek highway. True to say, the days of the backpackers trail may have gone, with the advent cheap flights to Phnom Penh, Sihanoukville and Siem Reap, but it's still a major border crossing. And Trad is the main town for the Koh Chang archipelago. It has a lot of very decent hotels, markets, malls, eateries, a Bangkok hospital, and other facilities. Even has its own cuisine. Unfortunately, most of the minibuses from Pattaya and Bangkok to Koh Chang and Koh Mak by pass it now, via a short cut to the island piers. The song taews from Trad to same are almost invariably empty. 5 years ago, they'd be full of foreigners. With no regular scheduled bus service, to and from North bus station in Pattaya, for instance, there's little motive to find your way down there. And there's no direct service from Trad bus station to Pattaya at all. It would only take maybe 3 trips a day. Just my 10 satang.

If the EEC is such a thing, why is there yet no decent public bus link between Pattaya, Trad and Had Lek? Only private minibuses. 2 major tourist areas and the Cambodian border with no government bus link or even a big bus. Only 35 Group goes close.

You really need to get there early. They open at 0830 and shut at 1430. I tried and failed to make it out there after I picked up my residence certificate at 1400 from immigration. When I went back the next day, there were already about 20 people, at 0745. But I got lucky and bagged number 3 in the queue. Also, for 5 year renewal, you don't need your country of origin driving licence. Plus, the stuff about the video. There are points in each video, right on 7 minutes, where you have to answer a multiple choice question, and also click "Confirm" at the end of each of the 4 sections. I'm not sure what happens if you don't. The software was buggy and in fact the app got taken down. I went on their site to do it in the end. It's not an easy ride on a scooter getting there. I think I went a different way each time. Coming back wasn't such a problem. Just Railway Road the whole way. But it took me 35-50 minutes. Plan everything well in advance. Residence certificate (2 trips to immigration), medical certificates (painless, I used the clinic on the corner of Soi Hanuman and Jomtien 2nd Rd.), and LTO, 2 trips. The first trip they will check your paperwork, tell you what you need if you don't have it, and give you a date to return for the test etc. That's where I've got to. Good luck. NB Even though it says "Or Capture your screen..." I was still told to print it out, which I've done. Can't take much more of this. I'll be lucky to survive the multiple return journeys out there on my scooter. ????

Was it more than just a QR code and some text, with "Passport / ID No", "Completed" and the date of completion? I can't get any other form of certification.

At the end of the "training" video, I got a QR code and some text saying Completeted etc, and the date. Did anyone get anything different, like a certificate of some sort? It's the only document I didn't print out when I presented mine for checking. The girl said I needed to print it out. I couldn't see any examples anywhere.

Was there today, Monday 19th, getting Res certificates for 5 year driving licence renewal. Turned up about 0815. Already long queue but by 0910 approximately was out. Told to come back at 1400 to pick up, which I was able to do. The rest of the day was a complete disaster, but would be off topic as it involved the driving licence renewal end of proceedings.
