I have a detached house, but inside a resort, which isn't gated. I have 4 CCTV cameras which all have motion detect enabled. I get snapshots emailed to me whenever the motion detect is tripped. But so what? I'm 300k away. If I see somebody on camera having it away on their toes with a TV on his shoulder, what am I going to do? I also live on an island. I've lost a load of items from my storage under the house, or from around the outside of the house, mostly to workers. Never found out who, where or when. Houses are for the most part, a liability. People get confused and like to think of them as an asset. Unless you're renting out, they just cost you. And as for starting up a property management company? Yeah, an early grave is waiting for you.

Prawit Tipped To Get More Votes Than Any Others For PM

If you want my opinion - and I'm sure you don't but here it is anyway - Anutin's the only viable candidate. Yes, yes, I know he's hated by many on this forum. They've never got over him calling us all dirty foreigners. But, in the end, somehow or other, COVID did get dealt with comparatively well on his watch. As well as can be expected considering what he was up against early on. No recent news BTW of SBS. And as for the cannabis drama. Hats off, sir! Now let's decriminalise gambling, tax it, as in the UK at 10%, and Bob's yer uncle, massive revenue for untold good works! And cleans up the whole rotten online and underground industry, Chinese triads and all. Prawit? He always reminds me of Toad in Wind in the Willows. Mr Toad, to you. Ok, asbestos suit and tin helmet donned. -
Presumably, the valuation is for replacement, not the resale value, as would be normal for insurance purposes. Second hand AC units? Maybe 3k each. A mountain bike? Maybe 3k. Sofas? Possibly 3k each. Kitchen equipment? TVs. Furnishings. White goods? Not much for a burglar, considering the hassle of removing them, offloading them and the risks of getting nabbed. If you tried to sell them on the island? Yeah, great idea. You'd need a truck for each house. But the buildings? If he has buildings insurance, then possibly 1m each for repairs. But he must have had an insurance assessor to arrive at this figure. Why not just burn them down?

You're not really providing much to go on. Your site? You mean a website? It had an error? What error? You mean your host blocked your site? The one that was hosting your website? Or your ISP? -
Somebody, I guess up in City Hall, seems to have hit on the bright idea of privatising public utilities and offloading the city council's responsibilities to provide facilities for tourists. If a 7 franchisee is willing to do this, so be it. It could be great for business. There are several "Super 7s" (my brand name) that I know of in Pattaya. Tai has one, and Soi 5 Pratamnak down on the beach, next to Sands is another. Sitting outside with a coffee and a Danish carbonara, access to clean rest room. What's not to like? Perhaps a new partnership is being launched. Note: the branch of 7 that's there now was closed for most of the COVID era. Not even open outside of lockdown. A good location in season I would have thought.

This is disgusting. These guys trashed 3 houses, and for what? Spite? Revenge? Envy? I hope the cops find them. "In your face wealthy"? Aren't you making massive assumptions? And if everybody's that poor, who's going to rent them? And sacking/letting go the maid? Where does it say that? Owning and maintaining property in Thailand is hard work. Finding someone you can trust is the number one problem. But overall, there is scant background information on this, so as usual, just to make matters worse, Messrs Guess it and Speculate, online detective agents, are hard at work, condemning and blaming. It's all the victim's fault.

The Senate has to go! A 250 strong packed jury. What a joke. -
This topic came up in a thread recently but I can't find it. The news was the waiting room was going to be demolished and a new one built. I went down there this evening to have a look. It's still standing and yes there is a large room with about 50 seats. But also a large table. Fascinating, right? So I asked one of the security there if it was opened in the day. He smiled and said no. What, never, I asked. That's right he said. He said it was only used as a meeting room for officials. So where can people sit while they're waiting for the ferry? Over there. He pointed to some benches out in the open. Next up, I asked another guard outside the 7/11 opposite the car park. The row of small buildings recently demolished next to the existing 7 is being redeveloped. I asked him what were they building there. Another 7, he said. But there's one right next door. Ah, this is going to be a really big 7 with a waiting room and toilets. So there we have it. An enormous 7 with all mod cons. Brilliant! But what they'll put in place of the existing waiting room, I've no idea. The little shop spaces round the back are, needless to say, empty.

There's no stats for nerds on the menu. It ends with "Watch in VR". I wasn't actually claiming to watch the video in 8k, just that I could watch it in an acceptable res of 1440p over a purported 15Mbps link. I don't use YouTube for watching movies or anything requiring fantastically high resolution. So I don't require huge amounts of bandwidth either. To me, my set up is an entirely satisfactory, economical solution, but of course, wouldn't suit everyone. Apologies for the confusion. -

I don't see the stats for nerds anywhere. I'm using my mobile - maybe it's not available. The highest res available is 1440p. At that res, it's great quality. Good enough for me, at least. -

"Most people do not need to connect to servers in Europe ????♂️ so noone else notice that." It's not as if everyday internet users selects their routing. You hit return to send/browse/search whatever, and your ISP will route your request via whatever servers the algorithm in their routing software selects. This might include servers in Europe for a connection in the US or China, for instance. If it's the optimal route, that's the way it will go. -

I have an 1800 THB pa 15Mbps AIS unlimited data package. From the ground floor of my condo in Pratamnak I'm able to watch 8k HDR YouTube videos on my 7000 THB Chinese phone. They run smooth, full audio. What's with the technofetish? -

Forget AIS. It's the other ISP you should contact. It's their servers causing the problems. IMHO. -

I meant the technical problems, not the choice of partner. The ISP is not faulty. Their servers are. You should email them with your screen shots. -

Looks like the problem is with Hurrican Electric. All the problem addresses resolve back to them. For example: https://ipinfo.io/184.105.81.29 and https://ipinfo.io/AS6939 -
Red Bull case: Former senior prosecutor discharged from service
bradiston replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Grasped a long time ago. But without Dietrich Mateschitz, it would still be being sold as Kratin Deng in little brown bottles out of corner shops in, and consumed nowhere outside, Thailand. Sure, old Chaleo first concocted it, but the money only started rolling in when it was launched as Red Bull, an entirely Austrian rebranding and marketing undertaking. That family owes its wealth to that. They enjoy the fruits of it. But they live by their own laws, unconcerned by the disgraceful behaviour of the scion of the family. They'll laugh in your face. What Russian oligarch could boast of such power? Yet this Thai family walk around without a care. -

Ah yes, the moral maze so many of us foreigners find ourselves stumbling around in in Thailand. Which way to turn? Where's the exit? Times running out! Best pay up and have done. Moral? -

If he's roaming around in my ex-home country then sure, I care. Just taking the xxxx. There's obviously a complete lack of will to get this guy to justice. The Brits, or wherever he shows his face, could easily apprehend him, if there was a legal means, and requirement, to do so. If Thailand hasn't made any requests for apprehension, then I guess there's nothing any law enforcement agencies can do, anywhere in the world. It's a joke! The ball is definitely in the Thai court, or should be, so why isn't he? -
Yes, it's possible I guess. Cutting ones ties with the UK is harder than it seems. But I think the "ties" rules are used as a sort of (excuse the pun) tie-breaker. They are in the 3rd test of residency. I've reviewed my UK tax residency and liabilities and I now consider myself not to be UK tax resident. I've lived abroad for 7 years, have never worked abroad and have no ties. My family are not minors, I own no property there. Yes, I just, illegally apparently, renewed my driving licence there which I'm happy to surrender. So, goodbye to all that!

I don't see how they could prevent it. A private prosecution? Why not, but who will take it up? A bounty hunter, where there's no bounty? -

So if nobody's fit to judge because of some degree of shared moral culpability in committing the same "crime", although "corruption" in itself I don't think is listed as a crime, anywhere in the world, then how are we to denounce it? Because we bend the rules, or you may say, break the law, in order to remain here, for the most part, peacefully and living in accordance with the law, hopefully of some benefit to those in whose country we have asked to stay, are we thereby prevented from commenting on a case such as this? But I agree, it is morally dubious. I don't usually turn to the Bible, but this came to mind: Matthew 7, verse 1. One of the greatest speeches He ever made. https://quod.lib.umich.edu/cgi/k/kjv/kjv-idx?type=DIV2&byte=4407881#:~:text=7,be measured to you again. " Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again."
