    Trat

I'm sitting waiting for the 35 Group Pattaya bus at the foot of Kromluang pier in Laem Ngop which takes you to and from Koh Mak. Had a house there for 17 years. But, time to call it a day. I'm 74. The house is 3 storeys. Even renting became a chore. But...

I had some really great times there, and on Koh Chang, and on all the islands that make up the Koh Chang archipelago. There are a lot! Much of it is national park, but also many islands aren't included, so in theory, no landing fee. We used to hire a 30 seat twin engined speed boat for 15k THB and spend the day landing on deserted beaches on uninhabited islands. A fantastic experience! In the days when you could design your own cruise.

And Koh Chang's east coast is really what I love. Very few resorts because very few beaches. It's the leeward side so no surf to make the sand. But follow the wonderful road all the way and you get to salak phet which has surely one of the best seafood restaurants in SE Asia. And climb high up on a scooter, and salak phet bay has to be seen to be believed. Totally gorgeous!

Around ฿90000 which included follow up appointments and medication, Dr Sante Bangkok Jomtien. It depends on the lense which is fitted, my left eye required a more expensive lense. You can have lenses where you won’t need reading specs, more expensive but I was advised they were not for me because of my glaucoma.

So it was 90k for 2, right?

I went to see her in 2019 as was having an issue with one eye.  A one person clinic and you just que up and wait.  She ultimately was able to diagnose a hole in the macula which requires surgery to repair.  I was leaving in two weeks so waited until returning home and had that diagnosis confirmed by a specialist with surgery shortly thereafter.  While her office and equipment seems basic compared to western clinics she was able to make the correct diagnosis which is a credit to her skills.

As for the top Opthmologists the Rutnin Clinic in Bangkok is considered the top eye clinic in Thailand.  I did go there with a friend about 10 years ago and they have a large clientel with many from Arab countries who come for eye care.  Depending on the severity of your issue they would be worth a visit as well.

Rutnin has had a spate of very poor reviews recently. I've never been but am looking for cataract surgery. I'm in Pattaya, so it's a bit of a schlep up to Bangkok if it turns out to be a wasted journey. But I'm not that happy with my Bangkok Pattaya eye man. And no insurance cover for this procedure (out patient).

  5. Yes, every time a province gets into the headlines, TAT chirps up with some daft story about attracting more tourists. I've got one. Crickets heard chirping loudly in Chantaburi. TAT sees crickets chirping in Chantaburi as qualifying for soft power status. Aims to attract millions of tourists spending billions of baht. And crunch power when the little critters get deep fried and eaten. Aaah.

    Yup!

Agree. My ex wife used to play. They usually had a lookout for fuzz. Just village people, you understand. But the stakes got ridiculously high. My crazy sister in law lost her pickup in one hand. In the wrong hands, a deck of cards becomes a lethal weapon.

In Vietnam I've seen games on trains stop, everything cleared away, every time the guard came through, then restart when he was gone.

That’s very cheap, I paid around ฿90000 at Bangkok Jomtien a few months back.

My thoughts and at least one other's. I've been quoted around 50k at Bangkok Pattaya for one. Same at Jomtien. He's either talking about 10 years ago or making it up I'd suggest.

    These threads are boring.

In the case of the OP he has be staying with continuous "permission of stay"

For any inter province stays and international travel (having a reentry permit) or a multi entry permit he does NOT need to file a TM30.

There are a couple of rouge offices that are sticking to the OLD TM30 rule prior to June 2020. CM is one example.

The rule is very clear with regards to TM30.

As usual in Thailand you need to be aware of games your office play.

Covered in first post of this thread from webfact.

    https://aseannow.com/topic/1169664-thai-immigration-announce-changes-to-tm30-reporting/

Paragraph 2.2 is the relevant rule change.

    Rouge? You mean rogue naturally.

Human trafficking? Why were they charged with trafficking, instead of proving assistance to illegal aliens? Why doesn't the headline say, "Two Bangladeshis charged with providing assistance to illegal aliens"?

"He (Asraf) was charged with providing shelter and assistance to illegal immigrants, allowing them to evade arrest."

"Similarly, Abu was also charged with providing shelter and assistance to illegal immigrants."

But the unfortunates were being shipped to Malaysia apparently, from Cambodia.
