  1. here are quite a few Sure brand office chairs on Lazada, depends which model.
  2. I like soft padded arms and the Ikea chair doesn't appear to have them. The one I have (vinyl) cost me less than 3000 baht from a large hardware store and it's lasted me 10 years, so can't complain.
  3. I'm tending to agree after reading some of the reviews on Lazada from people who have bought chairs. The photos can be very deceptive of the quality,.
  4. Got to give the police here some credit, they track down the perps of these kind of crimes pretty quickly.
  5. There's quite a few options, police officer, lawyer, etc, etc. I have used both a police officer (free) for my Comsuper pension and a lawyer (500 Baht) for Centrelink. All Thais of course.
  6. Already looked, can't see it anywhere.
  7. I've had the PU one for over 10 years, had the padded arms re-upholstered a couple of times, but that's it. Cost about 2500 baht fro Thai Watsadu.
  8. There are a lot to offer on Lazada priced from 1000-3000 Baht, but the photos are often a little deceptive of the quality. I'm too lazy to go looking in Index or Home Pro, so any reports on what chair they bought from Lazada would be good.
  9. Sorry, change of mind. Seems it's more economical to replace the chair. As well as needing new gas strut, the arm and the seat needed recovering, so just took it to local upholsterer who quoted 1200 baht to do the job. If I add another 150 baht for a strut I'm already up to the price of a new chair.
  10. No, it's not, they need the hard copy witnessed and signed by one of those designated on the form. You can send it back to them as a PDF document via the MyGov.au website.
  11. A Youtube video shows using a pipe wrench to loosen the strut from the top fitting, also giving it a squirt with WD40 before trying to remove it. What does putting PVC pipe over the top part do?
  12. Was it a pain or a breeze?
  13. There was no reason given, just that's the way we do it, and we're not open to any change for the better.
  14. Anyone received a "Proof of Life" form from Centrelink? I rang them this morning and asked if they could send the form by email instead of post. Answer no, only post. Reason I asked is the last (first) one I received arrived afer the due date to return it because of the atrocious mail delivery here. This can result in the age pension being stopped, but it seems sending a PDF by email is too hard or too technical for C'link.
  15. Of course you would be invaded and stripped of all that by those who don't have those means of survival, if the situation became permanent. The veneer of civilization is very thin.
  16. Aussie sent them to Nauru or PNG, reduced numbers significantly.
  17. Jussie Smollett jumped on that bandwagon.
  18. No electric to keep food in the fridge either.
  19. Wasted on me, my taste buds peak at 399 baht.
  20. If you come back you haven't really died.
  21. The Guru says: Get all the kicks you can baby, you only make this scene once.
  22. Would have thought there would be no shortage of local weed in a place like Sri Lanka.
