It's not about the amount but about the fact that somebody rummaged through his car looking for cash.

You may find a guy called wormfarmer on this forum.

This has been discussed to death here. At present it looks as though the regulations, although only meant for relatively healthy 'immigrant workers', were wrongly interpreted and only the word 'foreigners' was used. It also looks as though this mistake is being corrected and so in a year or two 85 year old Farangs won't be able to enroll any more. So don't go cancelling your present insurance just yet.
http://udon-news.com/en/law/health-insurance-for-foreigners was at the root of all this fuss.
I still don't fancy being ill (as in catching a disease in hospital) at the hospital that I would have to use./

Ha ha. I can use my Thai debit card in Switzerland but not here (except for BigC I think). Very funny.

I have taken the same guy to hospital twice, after being woken up at 2am, after he had head injuries driving his motorbike. No helmet. I was drunk, he was drunk, so I was forced to drive illegally.
I have seen a young girl with 4 other children on the back, no helmet. I have seen very young kids on the back that have fallen asleep... no helmet. Ah well, that's Buddhism for you, when your time has come...

I was told, when I went there because I was on overstay, that if I paid ฿2000.- and spent 24 hours in the monkey house, I could get an 'O' visa and not pat the ฿20 000.- I owed. Now that's a scam I think.
I finished off going to Vientiane instead.

Not meaning to be insulting, but that sounds like a Victorian slum. Anyway around Buriram, all water plant bowls are inhabited by larva eating fish, Plaa kah yung I think, dead cheap. The larvicide is supposed to not harm fish.

The uv light machines are not that effective. Only work in a small area and are further diminished when there is other light around it.
yes, waste of money. Keep the fan going in the area you don't want mozzies, spray now and again, get rid of breeding zones.

Before investing in Win7or whatever check if your computer can take it. I don't know what happens if you use a Microsoft check and you have a pirated xp, there must be other checkup programs out there .

I suppose I can quote my own post. I took the bull by the horns and checked my three year old computer, xp, to see if it was WIN7 capable, no problem using the microsoft site
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/downloads/upgrade-advisor
It told me to back up all my stuff and to update a few drivers after installation.

You read like a troll my friend.

Why do you say that? I have been a member for over 10 years and in the early days it WAS good fun, informative and...
Sorry, that was what some of us call a joke.

฿8.0 /Kg anyone? They got ฿12.0 in Laos last year, maybe they will invade Thailand if this happens. We sold for ฿12.0 /Kg months ago (Hom mali), when I was saying we should store it waiting for a better price.
It's not only the farmers, it's the little village shops that buy in a few hundred sacks that suffer also.

A (Muslim) minibus driver, obviously high on Yabah accused me of getting drunk as I decided to drink a can of beer before it got warm. That so an so nearly killed us in my point of view and was completely insane. Last minibus drive for me, I'd rather walk.

The local Chinese poultry rearers recently went around the village selling Gai pan for 10 Baht,300 Gram. They tasted horrible and rubbery. (we didn't buy any). The neighbour bought 17 with his last cash. So I shouldn't worry too much about quality .

Read again sir (!) and try to see the difference between a Baht sign and a dollar sign . The load of junk although theoretically household goods was in fact mostly carpenter's tools that I made myself plus a few machines. So us3500+ for a bunch of junk and a cat.
Well

Somor is uneatable even for most Thais. My wife tells me that she only wanted this when she was pregnant. I have seen it in the markets occasionally .
Another thing: I have often found that fruit in Macro is cheaper than in the market.
I can also assure you that many crops cannot be cultivated in Thailand without heavy use of pesticides (thinking of melons and cucumbers in particular but many others ).

Around here the only cash crop is once a year Hom mali. I can see myself supporting the whole hard working family if this goes further. Or I go home...
