  1. Yes scrutinize travers from China but don't bring back those stupid temperature check machines and QR code check in and check out apps.
  2. The only thing they need to do is greatly reduce air pollution. If one believes in climate change or not is irrelevant. The same drivers of air pollution are the same that would cause climate change.
  3. Fake news. 99 out of 100 are too lazy to look up from their phone to lift anything other than a potato chip bag. And yes I am American.
  4. Like others here I noticed they extended 90 day reporting to 1 year for this visa. I called Thailand Elite and asked if this will be offered to holders of it as well. I was told they are aware of this benefit and it is being discussed as a potential benefit for Thailand Elite members in the future. I think all long term visa holders ought to have this benefit but since I have the TE visa that is my focus.
  5. I occasionally consumed various cannabis products in California where it is legal. I enjoyed it but it is not a key part of my life so I can take or leave it. Given this there is no way I will intentionally consume any cannabis in Thailand until it leaves the wild west phase it is in right now (if that ever happens) It is not clear how the product is grown. It is not clear how much THC is in the product (if any) it is not clear if it is cannabis at all. Furthermore I'm sure an entire cottage industry is being worked up with the police where they randomly fine Farangs for breaking whatever obscure facet of the law they decide they want to enforce on any given day when they need to top up the Baht. I do respect that Thailand is trying to set a trend by semi legalizing Cannabis but I am very doubtful the horticulture or legal structure is in place to support it any time soon.
  6. No I am not confusing the forms. I drop my passport off at the Thailand Elite office and they require TM47, TM30 and my passport. Tm30 is the dumbest and most redundant form I know of in Thailand. It is not even consistently required but when dropping off my passport to use their 90 reporting service it is required. I will be trying to do the online 90 day reporting where its not required, but I have been told for at least the first time that must be done in person which means dropping off my passport and delivering copies of the forms. Thailand's dependence on various redundant PRINTED paper forms is dubious however after dealing with all the forms required by Philippine immigration just to transit through their airport I no longer call it the worst. Philippines takes that title.
  7. As mentioned in this thread the app version of the TM 30 does require a tm6 number. I have had trouble getting the web version to work in the past. If tm6 is going to be scrapped it would need to be scrapped everywhere it's required. I am not yet confident that is true. Of course I would prefer to get rid of 90 day reporting and in particular the tm30 form but until then I'm not convinced this thing longer term can do without it yet.
  8. How can I smoke the newly legalized low THC placebo cannabis if I have to wear a mask?
  9. I have never needed to transfer funds from Thailand to the United States but I was surprised to see wise.com only allows you to transfer money from the US (and other countries) into Thailand. I could do a wire transfer from my Bangkok Bank account to one of my US Banks but the exchange rate would be poor which becomes problematic for large transfers. What do people with Thai Baht use to transfer larger amounts (500,000 THB and up) from Thailand to a US bank? There are likely already threads discussing this but I could not find them.
