With Singapore as the education hub of the region and internationally recognized as one of the best places in the world for education, I think Thailand becoming the hub for education is a pipe dream. Wishful thinking. Very improbable. But ... A good soundbite for Thais to hear.

They should take lessons in how to squander money for military purposes from the USA ... bury the request in a 5,000 page document that really doesn't make sense. This keeps all the critics busy trying figure out what's going on while the military goes ahead with the purchase.

Nuclear energy is mid 20th century technology. Better for Thailand to be ahead of the curve than behind it.
They should be considering wind and solar ... it would be way cheaper and also no nuclear waste to deal with and increase costs.
Provencal co-op power would do the trick.

Put speed bumps at zebra crossings

Oh. So now Turkey decides to stop IS recruits trying to cross their border. They are a pathetic bunch.

What is the average life expectancy in Pattaya? (Age)
Something to consider before retiring there.

Those who have evolved beyond farang and evolved beyond stereotyping find that we, as humans, have more in common than differences and we know the cultural prisons in almost every society hates to see this kind of change.Young educated women are traveling outside Thailand now and have a different perspective about the world and about people of other nationalities. It is also a cultural issue of how men treat women.

So ... a lot of nice restaurants just got screwed.

Strike ISIS ... then appease ISIS with Kurdish strikes.
Is there any doubt Turkey has been assisting ISIS? .... leaky borders going both directions .... inaction .... never any condemnation ... foreign fighters and teenage girls crossing the border with ease...
I do not think supplies and ammunition have been getting to ISIS over the Iranian or Jordanian border.
I am no rocket scientist but I do know 1+1=2.
H-E-L-L-O NATO! Are you awake?

Thai kids don't go into pubs and restaurants to buy alcoholic drinks.
Thai kids do go to 7-11s and these little outside places with tin tables set up just for drinking.
If they want to find underage drinking on an orgy scale ... go to Route 66.

Well now. If they were friends and just had a falling out ... What's the harm?
Hummm .. Have I been in Thailand too long?

I think, from what I have seen, Thai police are notoriously lazy. This comes at the expense of public safety. I wonder what they think their job really is? Seriously. I would like to know what they think about their job.

I think in this case reciprocal justice is in order .. and I want to see the video.

So when will we get something definitive? I'd like to plan an evening out with the wife which includes a couple of drinks with dinner and I don't want to waste my time on restaurants unable to serve alcohol.

Every country I lived in had regulations ... period ... not to be interpreted .. black and white and every office was on the same page.
"Interpretation" is for the purpose of Immigration officers receiving tea money and I am sure the "interpretation" allowance is deliberate.

For the newbees whose first expat home is Thailand, I have lived in 9 foreign countries ... and none of them required a 90 day check-in. The only requirement was to stop by the local police station to register a new address. Plus all of them issued an ID card with my visa status.

A lot of inaccuracies ... not reliable info if seriously considering a start-up.

If the USA were a person, that person would be diagnosed as having Multiple Personality Disorder.
Don't worry about it.

Didn't answer because charging for overstay can be abused by the staff or manager.
If the coffee house or fast food is busy, like during peak hours YES, but if business is slow NO.
Marketing strategy will tell you if business is slow, it's good to have people at a table even if for appearance sake.
I can't count the places I passed by simply because they were empty. I assume the food and or service is not good.

WE NEED TO RETHINK OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH NATURE
Lawrence Anthony, a legend in South Africa and author of 3 books including the bestseller, The Elephant Whisperer.
He bravely rescued wildlife and rehabilitated elephants all over the globe from human atrocities, including the courageousrescue of Baghdad Zoo animals during US invasion in 2003.
On March 7, 2012 Lawrence Anthony died. He is remembered and missed by his wife, 2 sons, 2 grandsons, and numerous elephants. Two days after his passing, the wild elephants showed up at his home led by two large matriarchs. Separate wild herds arrived in droves to say goodbye to their beloved 'man-friend'. A total of 31 elephants had patiently walked over 12 milesto get to his South African House.
Witnessing this spectacle, humans were obviously in awe not only because of the supreme intelligence and precise timing that these elephants sensed about Lawrence's passing, but also because of the profound memory and emotion the beloved animals evoked in such an organized way: Walking slowly, for days, making their way in a solemn one-by-one queue from their habitat to his house. Lawrence 's wife, Francoise, was especially touched, knowing that the elephants had not been to his house prior to that day for well over 3 years! But yet they knew where they were going. The elephants obviously wanted to pay their deep respects, honoring their friend who'd saved their lives - so much respect that they stayed for 2 days 2 nights without eating anything. Then one morning, they left, making their long journey back home. -
So .... was it a shakedown or a bust? We'll never know.

It has been made clear that human trafficking by boat has been going on for many years.
What the Navy does not realize, is that it is unreasonable for the public to think the Navy was not aware of the traffickers.
The only conclusions are they were incompetent or they were involved.
Attacking "the messenger" makes the situation high profile for the Navy and continues to damage the Navy's "face".
If the Navy had never filed the defamation charges the story would be dead now. Or at least not so noticeable.
The Navy can turn the situation around by dealing with the problems of incompetency or corruption in this case.
That would give good "face" to the Navy, to the current government and to Thailand.

Thais don't know what zebra crossings are for.
Police don't know what zebra crossings are for.
The government has failed to educate the public.
If the government doesn't know what zebra crossings are for then they should remove them or ask a developed country's police.

I've found discount airfare websites aren't at all discount. I can always get a flight way cheaper by booking direct.
