  1. It's a common misconception that wearing a common mask mostly protects the person wearing it. There is some protection but It's actually mostly the other way around. Wearing a mask helps protect OTHERS from being infected if the person wearing the mask is infected. If someone wants to wear a mask to completely protect themselves, those masks are much less common and expensive and from what I understand must completely seal around nose, mouth etc. Eyes are not nearly as much of a concern. The nasal cavity and lungs take in air. Eyes take in next to no air at all. I have never read anywhere people being infected by covid or other airborne pathogens via the eyes. Rare if ever I would assume.
  2. Another in the endless parade of slow thinking sots that land in Pattaya and unfortunately sometimes get worse than a beating. He's one of the lucky ones.
  3. You're welcome! thank you for your comment. Fortunately for alcoholics looking for a way to recover, a human named Bill Wilson wrote a book called Alcoholics Anonymous in an effort to precisely communicate to the world how he and about one hundred alcoholics recovered from alcoholism. On it's pages are a wonderfully simple and practical program of action which when followed gives recovery from alcoholism. (The 12 steps) My choice to finally take all of The program steps, even though I didn't like some of the work or found it difficult at times, gave me recovery. My experience is doing what I thought I needed to didn't work to get recovery from alcoholism.. I had to start following all of the 12 step directions even though I thought I didn't need to and didn't want to at times. It was then that I got recovery from alcoholism and all my skepticism, best thinking and ideas were proved wrong. I found out through trial and error that what I had thought I needed was just me trying to get sober my way and as a result I kept relapsing. Following my own ideas (taking what I thought I needed) didn't work. I found out the hard way I needed to do all of the 12 steps of the AA program. Forever grateful to Bill Wilson and the founding AA members for taking the time to write the two books that contain the AA program. The Book Alcoholics Anonymous and the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions book.
  4. yea, who buys these products anyways? When one can have an agent do a retirement visa at a small fraction of the cost what's the use why drop 1 million THB? Bragging rights? Maybe rich young tourists/regular visitors? Confounds the imagination.
  5. Mensa has a test on the landing page of it's website. No need to go through all that conversion hog wash. Just take the test.. about 20 min of your time and volla! You will either 1) have access to club "parties" ( I wonder what those are like?) 2) Know a bit more about yourself I scored 125 so I won't make the cut... I suppose I could try again. Have to be over 132 I think.
  6. There's got to be a Mensa chapter somewhere in Thailand. Take a test, join up and see how you fare. https://www.mensa.org/
  7. LIkely grand standing by this outgoing official to create some noise and get attention as he "exits the building"
  8. Got any pictures? Are you kidding? That is nuts. I guess it's not too tough to believe though. I've seen Thai kids wearing t-shirts with Swastika symbols as well as "F-You" printed on them. More than likely they just don't know what it means and like how it looks etc..
  9. You know you are living in Thailand right? What do you expect? The Klong Toie slum is just a kilometer away. I mean, you live in Thailand dude. It's Thailand DUDE. Most people have very little here .. same goes for a large portion of the world. Be grateful with what you have and learn a little compassion. It goes a long way in achieving happiness. You want no beggars on the streets? Go live in Singapore or Tokyo.
  10. Excellent report. This is exactly the kind of content that makes this board worth visiting. Other times, well.. you know. A lot of sophomoric opinion at best.
  11. Yes, real alcoholics as described in the AA book are powerless to abstain completely even though they may honestly want to. Will power does not work to achieve moderation or complete abstinence. They will suffer from the insanity of the first drink over and over again unless the alcoholism is treated. And as most all real alcoholics know - abstinence does not treat alcoholism. Fortunately the spiritual program of AA treats alcoholism for those who are willing to follow the directions in all of the AA 12 steps. Anybody with questions about AA please feel free to DM me here on the board. See other posts for information about AA meetings online or in person.
  12. If any board members are careless and happen to impregnate a Thai girl (by accident) please be aware that if the infant is unwanted that The Pattaya Orphanage is a very good facility and will take the child for care and possible adoption. https://www.thepattayaorphanage.org/
  13. Anybody check to see if they are answering the phones though? Website is nothing if nobody is answering the phones LOL!! ????
  14. Salary? Rescuing? WTF? While in Pattaya I flirt whenever I can with whomever I choose. 7-11, Walking on the beach road. Shopping at Big C, restaurants. Many times I've met girls who have a "farang boyfriend". How many times do you think I've been successful with having fun with these gals? Many will side hustle whenever they can get away with it. You want to pay her salary and have a full time private detective service follow her around to make sure you're not going where no man has gone before lately? How many board members have had lasting, faithful, satisfying long term relationships with a live in bar girl paid on salary? Most I've heard about end badly.
  15. Great service, especially for some of the less fortunate residents in the area who may not have the funds to pay for a haircut. Sorry if the program has been discontinued. I would bet the school still provides the service .. just somewhere else. check it out!
  16. About as many as you think are worth talking to. Personally I find farangs in BKK to be a bit more educated, interesting and cosmopolitan. Pattaya tends to attract what my friends and I call "The Pattaya Strange". Generally these are the bar statues who talk on endlessly about conspiracy theories and heavy right wing politics.. my personal opinion only of course. Your mileage may vary.
  17. Man with flash light: "I'm sorry to inform you sir. I now can confirm what the problem is. There appears to be a lack of brain in here. We often see this problem with tourists who try to deal with lady boys on beach road".
  18. He lost his Speedos at the hotel. ... next best option to let everyone know just how much of an inconsiderate, entitled nut job he is, is to wear swim shorts, steal a hat from the airport sovegneir store and carry a skateboard onto the plane.
  19. Translation brought to you by Google Translate: See my skateboard? You must bow to it's power!! I can have this hat for free because Thailand must give it to me since my skateboard has much power. My swim trunks show how powerful and great my skateboard skills are. I have the power of the skateboard and you must recognize that or the skateboard will it be brought to bare on your body! See! See! see my skateboard.. it will hit you. My skateboard will hit you!
  20. It's my understanding that CW is more by the book and follows documented requirements. For instance I have heard some local Immigration offices (Jomtien) requiring 800k "seasoned" funds for the initial Non O retirement visa. Meaning they want to see bank documents showing the funds deposited for at least 2 months before Non O application. This is not per documented requirements. Differences: 1) CW only requires that 800K THB be in a Thai bank on the day of application 2) They do not require "permanent address" documentation. A Hotel is sufficient of the initial Non 0 application. question: if it's OK to be in a Hotel on the day of application ( using CW office ) what documentation do they want? Hotel booking? Or do they simply look up and make sure that the Hotel has reported you as staying there on the day of application? TM30? What other differences do long timers in Thailand know of? I've lived both in BKK and Pattaya and used both offices. Last time in CW was around 2016. What are the differences lately? Especially in and around a Non O for the purpose of retirement.
  21. This is good news. I have also heard some local Imm offices (Jomtien) requiring "seasoned" funds for the Intial Non O retirement visa. So it's my understanding that 1) CW only requires that 800K THB be in a Thai bank on the day of application 2) They do not require "permanent address" documentation. A Hotel is sufficient. question: if it's OK to be in a Hotel on the day of application what documentation do they want? Hotel booking? Or do they simply look up and make sure that the Hotel has reported you as staying there on the day of application? TM30?
  22. I concatenated a pdf of both my arriving and departing tickets and uploaded in both #4 travel booking confirmation and flight confirmation document item. Worked fine for my SETV. Issued in less than a week. I think you'd be fine just uploading an itinerary for the ticket out for the #4 item. From me they did request a ticket out of Thailand. If they want additional docs or a correction you generally will get an email requesting the extra information. As said above if they request additional documents or info you could make an explanation in the email reply .. for instance.. if you will be traveling out of Thailand via land etc.. Or, if one perhaps plans on getting a Non O visa and doesn't plan to leave. Worth a try.. although I have had the best luck just giving them what they request no matter what my actual plans are. I've obtained a SETV 3 times in the last year or so.
