  1. Thanks Ric, will be looking forward to updates. Hoping for the best outcome and relief from your BPH.
  2. Anyone looking for help with a drinking problem feel free to DM me here. I am sober 30 years using the AA 12 step program.
  3. Yea, easy to solve this problem. Live in Thailand, don't pay for a live in girl friend otherwise known as a sugar baby, jump on Thaifriendly, get himself a list of gals he likes and call them up every other day at average 1.5k baht a go. If the OP can't make this kind of adjustment than maybe some money should be spent on therapy to determine why he's so stressed out about having to NOT have a sugar baby around all the time.
  4. What is most likely to change? I would bet it's the amount held in a Thai bank. Even if it goes up 100% that's still only about $50k USD at current exchange rates. I have a distinct feeling that VISA agency services will still be available to take care of the lack of lump sum problem as well... not my choice as I like to DIY my immigration business but he could opt for an agency as the years go by and more than likely achieve a long term visa for purpose of retirement or other LTV.
  5. Why not just use the Non - O for purpose of retirement with the annual extension? Tack on the multiple re-ntry permits. Why use a LTR wealthy pensioner visa?
  6. Why get a LTR wealthy pensioner visa? He could just continue to use the Non O for retirement with yearly extensions.. no brainer in my view.
  7. If you have already lived there and own a condo here why is it you even need to ask these questions? Doesn't make sense to me. But here is my advice anyway. The only problem I see is you are grossly over paying for your "sugar baby" services. Forget that sh*$%t. Personally I would never pay for a live in girlfriend. It is a total farce and illusion. I've bedded down plenty of girls who have so called "boy friends" who pay them a monthly salary. It's a joke. I know of more than a few who are never loyal to their "sponsor". I was the guy on the side for a go here and there or as a "real" not for profit boyfriend. I don't want to be one of those suckers who is paying a girl to be steady meanwhile turning tricks when she can get away with it. Or worse has a real boyfriend (Thai or another farang - I have been the real boyfriend in one circumstance) Just get yourself some fun every other day at 1.5k baht a time in Thailand and your budget will fall in line and more than pay for a comfortable living in Pattaya.
  8. Well, to say it's low class is a bit bigoted in my humble opinion. But Nirum is a "low rent" and old condo project that is quite crowded and is pretty much as you describe. I used to do my laundry there 5 years ago since the laundry was close to my condo down the street and had proper wash machines. I regularly saw the kind of thing you are talking about. There was a restaurant bar next door to the laundry and more often than not a shirtless farang drunk off his ass sitting there being waited on and fed Leo after Leo. I've seen rents as low as 6000 etc there. Small rooms from what I remember.
  9. Individual experience is where God begins. I've had a very positive and life changing experience with a Higher Power. There is no need to convince anyone else. No need for me to be evangelical or convert anyone. My personal experience is all that matters and my life is better for it. No need to argue. It's simply a personal relationship I choose to foster. I have a personal relationship with a Higher Power that has brought me back from hell on earth. I wouldn't live any other way my friend. You go your way I'll go mine.
  10. Where is this conclusion from? This IMHO is hyperbole. This looks to be opinion and not any kind of established statistic. There are plenty of very intelligent and accomplished scientists in many fields who believe in some sort of Higher Power, Creative Intelligence, God, Power Greater .. Higher Intelligence etc. In the field of physics the more they uncover the more mysterious the laws ruling nature become. I believe there are some actual converts from atheism to belief in that field. Just look at Quantum Physics. If the double slit experiment or quantum entanglement aren't enough to boggle the mind and question conventional thinking I don't know what is. There is much much much more than the 5 senses can perceive. Beyond the 5 senses is where God works in my experience.
  11. Posting in the chance any board members have had iTind done at BNH hospital. iTind is one of two minimally invasive BPH treatments offered by BNH hospital M Centre by Dr. Suntchai. Hoping any board members who had the treatment might kindly post their experience with the procedure. I could always take one for the team but hoping to know more to choose what's right for me.
  12. I don't know about now but just only a few years ago it was very difficult to find decent underwear at any department store in Pattaya. Big-C, Tesco Lotus etc.. none of them had farang size.. maybe now at Terminal 21 but I bet the prices are Western prices if not more. TIT. I'll be stocking up on underwear and decent sports clothes before my next trip to stay another few years.
  13. Sounds like you don't have much experience renting property. Half the reason a landlord gets a security deposit is to insure that the tenant doesn't break the lease. Losing 50,000 baht is a incentive for tenants to stay the entire lease. If tenants leave early - landlord keeps the entire security deposit. This is stated in most all long term leases. It gives the landlords some compensation for having a vacant property if a tenant breaks lease. If there wasn't a significant security deposit most high season holiday makers would just sign a year lease at a cheap rate and leave after 5 months. Landlords like long term tenants because it ensures steady income. In your case 50,000 not only covers damage to the property ( by accidental or neglect ) but it also gives the landlord some assurance that either the tenant will stay long term or if the tenant breaks the lease compensation for having the property vacant. I have never had this problem when renting any property in Thailand. Why you ask? First, if I break a lease I understand I forfeit the deposit. It's in the lease and it's cost of doing business. Second, because I do research and find out who I'm renting from and if they are reputable. I suspect you did not. Bad landlords can be identified.. but if you don't' do your research and due diligence you'll get one who keeps security deposit even if the lease terms are fulfilled. As a foreigner it is tough to fight it even if you have a real case. Do yourself a favor. Get it out of your mind to be vindictive and seek revenge. You will find that it's a very bad idea to start sh** with Thais. From the sound of things they completely justified to keep the deposit. Don't cause any trouble for the Thai landlords especially those who have money and some connections ... understand? You made your bed now sleep in it. Nuff' said
  14. Thank you. Just wondering if there have been any bad Rezum experiences or iTind experiences at BNH that had complications there? I am almost positive I am a candidate for iTind which seems even less invasive than Rezum and no catheter necessary after treatment. iTind is not offered on my insurance plan here in the USA and as I'm anxious to return to Thailand I was thinking I'd pay the money and go for iTind. Any board members have iTind or Rezum experiences that went badly? Complications worth noting? BTW I have a small prostate so I'm a candidate for both procedures/therapies. Rezum and iTind. I have been thinking of using Dr. Suntchai at BNH, The urologist my insurance connected me with here in USA has had some bad reviews, not specifically for Rezum but for rushing appointments.. my apointment was rushed toward the end.... so I'm on the fence about all this. The urologist I saw here in USA is fairly new and has a history of rushing her appointments. thanks for any further information.
  15. is this fairly new? I have applied and recieved 3 Non-O's over the last 10 years and the last two I don't recall having to date the letters that same day of application? Perhaps I'm mistaken.. for the extension of stay is a letter a day or two old still accepted? I know I've not ever needed to show same day documents for extension of stay.. all this was at Jomtien Soi 5 office.
  16. Thank you very much for your detailed Rezum experience. I'm a candidate for the procedure and have been trying to decide whether to wait awhile and get it done here in USA or go to BKK and have it done there (as I'm anxious to get back to LOS) I've also been looking at iTind (removable expanding stint) I am a candidate with a smaller size prostate. Anyone on the forum have that done? I'd be curious about experiences. One thing that bothers me about BNH and Bumrungrad is that they have priced Rezum to be more than twice as much as it is out of pocket in the USA (at least one clinic in Portland Oregon offers it at $2800 dollars + usual prep visits etc. at 200000 THB and a 34 baht /dollar conversion thats $5882 -- about $3000 USD more.. I can't figure it.
  17. I get the feeling you have very little investing experience. Best thing I ever did for myself was study investing by just doing a fair amount of reading about personal finance and investment. Learning about the different investment vehicles IE.. Bonds, Stocks, Mutual Funds, ETF s, commodities, REITs etc.. is very important in my view... If you are not so inclined then just seek a good fee only financial planner to take care of it.. Just don't run with the idea of buying the S&P 500 index... if you have a next egg and want to draw on it for retirement then it would be a PRETTY BAD IDEA to put all your money into an S&P 500 ETF or Mutual Fund... this is because the S&P 500 basket of stocks is susceptible to market swings at large.. For most people at retirement age the would want a balanced investment portolio adjusted according to their risk tolerance.. perhaps a 60% Bonds 40% Equities portoflio... etc etc.. STUDY PERSONAL FINANCE OR PERHAPS BETTER YET GET A FEE ONLY FINANCIAL PLANNER IN YOUR COUNTRY OF ORIGIN>
  18. Wow. Exactly what do you spend your time doing anyway? What do you consider "super-smart" anyway. Date a Doctor or an experienced RN ... if they will have you. Date a corporate officer.. if she will have you.
  19. Grace us with your words of wisdom eh? LOL.
  20. The regulatory agencies will be forced into establishing clarity about what really constitutes a security and forced into establishing clear guidelines which they do not have as of now. . This will be good for the crypto industry. Coinbase will likely come out a big winner in this and business will go forward. This dip in Bitcoin prices is temporary and is FUD. Europe actually has given much better clarity as to regulating central crypto exchanges. This is actually all for the good. Once the SEC is confronted in the courts with Coinbase and Binances legal positions they will have to establish clear guidelines. At present the US regulatory agencies do not have clear guidelines for these central exchange businesses. Bitcoin could and most likely will go much higher when the dust settles ( this could take a couple years in the US courts ). I'm HODL ing for awhile and looking forward to big gains later with Coinbase coming away with guidelines and being the major North American player in Central Exchange business. As of now Bitcoin has bounced back some what.
  21. Pictures of dead presidents and royalty are much better eh? USD, Euro and all national currency is FIAT currency. Virtually no different than any crypto currency. Have a look at what actually constitutes "money". Some of us are doing very well having studied and used cryptocurrency. Blockchain technology is not going away. Early adopters will be rewarded. Just because one doesn't understand something doesn't mean it's "shight". Again I'll say before making rash and blunt generalizations one should do some research about what money really is. Do you know what FIAT currency is?
  22. Just sad, I can't count the number of times I have either witnessed the aftermath (2nd Rd. Jomtien decapitation of a Russian on a rice rocket 2013) read or heard about Russians dying by big bike. The 2nd road Jomtien collision was particularly gruesome as pieces of his body were strewn about. It's a tragic fact, but this guy is just one in the endless parade of tourists in Thailand dying on motorbikes or big bikes. I hate to say it but Thailand is a place where Darwinism and survival of the fittest is quite operative.
