  1. When was the last time you made a visit? Is your experience recent? Last year around this time it was like that.. but what about now and tourism in full swing?
  2. Does anyone know if the original OP got his Non O from the iron lady? How about any recent success stories getting a Non O from her? Has anyone been to Chang Wattana and gotten a Non O without "seasoned funds"? My experience with her @ desk 7 was similar but it was in 2018 - the very last few months where you could still use an income affidavit from the US embassy in Bangkok. I got push back from her and had to come back and jump through her hoops but I made it through and got the Non O being very polite, speaking in Thai and talking calmly. How about some success stories? Anyone able to get a Non O from her recently showing 800k in the bank? I'm going to have to do it in about 2 months. So I'm guessing it's time to wire my USD to my Thai bank? Whats the news gents??
  3. Thanks very much for replying VBF. I got crickets chirping on my forum post! Not one reply! Wow! Well the story is I'm applying soon. I've got all the required docs. I booked a one way ticket from USA and just booked a flight BKK to MNL for about $140 USD (which I may or may not use on the date ) The air ticket can be changed/cancelled for credit with the carrier. Interesting that you concatenated the two one ways into one PDF. What did you use to do that? Seems smart just to make sure they see both tickets. I was just going to put the return trip confirmation in the number 4 item marked: Travel booking confirmation. Since I'm using the USA forms I wonder if you saw that item also? I found out that the return ticket is required according to USA Thai consulate general and I was told to submit all requested documentation or risk denial and forfeit of the fee. Thanks for mentioning the hotel booking requirement got over looked in your case. Just emails worked for you. Good, that seems reasonable. I'm not taking any chances though so I booked all 60 days with free cancellation. I of course will cancel after they issue my 60 day STV. The bank statement is a new twist. They apparently need to see at least $700 USD in the bank? Funny but I'll give em one of my bank statements. TIT and I'll roll with it and get in and get my Non O retirement visa and extensions during the 60 or 90 days with extension. Thanks again for replying and enjoy your trip.
  4. I think there is quite a lot of misconception that these immigration programs and new restrictions are not without much thought. Ask yourself this. Who brings in more revenue? A person that stays in country and takes advantage of the cheap living, cheap food etc. Or Tourists visting for two weeks, who pay top dollar for hotels, meals, transportation, sight seeing and use of the airport? Do the restrictions on the regular LTV folks now seem to make a bit more sense? Thailand seems to be making an effort to "weed out" the bad actors that land on her shores.. dudes trying to evade prosecution, scammers, out right thieves etc.. Fairly recently there has been a big Indian phone scam setup operating right in Pattaya swindling thousands from folks in the USA, Australian and UK.
  5. Seems that a visit to the Thai Embassy Website Washington DC did the trick. Here is the info: Attached is a screenshot which answered my questions.. I'll make a good guess where I need to upload the required paperwork.. Hopefully this post will help anyone else who is looking to get a 60 day STV on the eVisa site. Now what I'll do is post later if I was successful.
  6. I've searched around a bit and haven't seen a thread or posting explaining some of the questions that come up when applying for a 60 Day STV on the eVisa https://thaievisa.go.th/signin website. I am a USA citizen and over 50 years of age. (please send a link if there is a good and thorough one) For instance. Is a return air ticket required? ( I have a one way ticket because I plan to change to a retirement visa in the first couple weeks) I do not want to use Visa on entry because a return ticket is required and I want to take my time. 60 days + 30 day extension to to get the retirement visa in case there are any issues etc. There are some confusing document requirements: ( I realize some can be fulfilled with a jpeg of a picture saying N/A or not applicable) But I don't want to fuss about and get one without any delay. Here are some of the issues I see: 4 . Travel booking confirmation (what do they want? another copy of the air reservation?) It's unclear what this is for.. because there is already a document requested item #8 8 . A copy of flight confirmation/reservation 6 . Financial evidence, e.g. bank statements, proof of earnings, sponsorship letter why this? can I just upload a picture stating N/A not applicable? Or do they actually want a bank statement? If I have missed some kind of comprehensive guide then please include a link. If there isn't one, might I suggest some of the forum gurus pin one to the top. thanks again!!
  7. HaHa, I've dealt with her (iron lady) before! I think she wants everyone to use an agent (for obvious reasons) and gets angry if guys try to get the visa legitimately. I was able to get one with her though but she made me jump through some hoops. I think my map drawing wasn't quite artistic enough LOL.. But I got my Non O in 2018... BTW any information on if a 60 STV eVisa application would get rejected showing a one way ticket to BKK?
  8. I only booked a one way ticket because I'll be getting a Non O. I wonder if my eVisa 60 STV application will be accepted just showing a one way ticket? I'll be applying for a Non-O for the purpose of retirement at Jomtien Soi 5 immigration. Initial 90 days then extension to 1 year. I want a 60 day STV so I don't have to hassle with visa on arrival and then doing an extension. Also if I need to extent the 60 day STV to 90 I can. In the case I need more time for my 800K THB to season in my Bangkok bank account. BTW I understand there is now a health insurance requirement. Did I see something about a health certificate too? Or is that for the O-A?
  9. Hey, did you get your 60 day Visa?? I'm in the same boat. Do they require a return ticket? I'm planning on converting to a LTV Non-OA. Do they want to see a hotel booking for the entire stay?? thanks!
  10. I meet the requirements but why on earth would anybody pay for an elite visa unless they are not 50 years old and have a strong desire to stay long term? I'm not throwing away 600,000 THB when I could just leave it in the bank and pay an agent to get me a retirement visa and then do my extensions.. or better yet get the visa and extensions myself which I've done at least 3 times in the last 10 years... folks who throw away money like that never become wealthy.
  11. Funny, I'm applying for a 60 STV single entry online and there are a couple documents they request that don't make sense.. (USA application) 4 . Travel booking confirmation (what do they want? another copy of the air reservation?) It's unclear what this is for.. because there is already a document request # 8 . A copy of flight confirmation/reservation 6 . Financial evidence, e.g. bank statements, proof of earnings, sponsorship letter why this? can I just upload a picture stating N/A not applicable? Or do they actually want a bank statement?
  12. I've been thinking of trying to get an O-A retirement visa from Los Angeles using the eVisa website.. Would really like to find out if you were successful. I've gone through it and some of the document requirements are a bit funny... for instance getting a "health certificate" .. what did you do for this? Would be very interested to find out if you were successful in getting the retirement O-A from Los Angeles while still in the states. thank you
  13. Any updates as to where in pattaya 3rd booster shots can be gotten from today on? I have contacted some of the local hospitals that have Moderna for sale but they say they are sold out... any other ideas? thank you!
  14. My attempt to report online was well within the window and I still got the message in the screen shot provided by the previous poster. Was at Jomtien Immigration yesterday and for the first time in a year reported in person. A bit of a wait I wager because the online system is not working properly.
  15. Thank you for confirming that. The Jomtien/Chonburi Office was closed last week for 4 days. Today I stopped in and it looked to be close to a one hour wait for 90 day check in which in usual conditions is walk in and walk out. I'll wait for awhile perhaps end of the week unless the website miraculously works by my deadline date.
  16. It's not technically "down". It is not working correctly. The first form page appears and can be filled in but on submission it gives a message and does not give the usual second page confirming information for final submission. Very typical of all Thailand technology whether it be Internet service, cable TV service etc.. just not up to par with the standards most farangs are used to in their respective countries.
  17. Been trying to do online 90 reporting as per my Retirement Visa extention.. the last two days Mon 15 and Today 16th of Nov it is not working. I usually have no problem with it.. but it's broken... again. Anyone had any luck? I went to Immigration at Jomtien.. big wait line for 90 reporting today. maybe will wait till it dies down.. From what I recall I have until 7 days after my reporting date to check in for 90 reporting. Is that correct? thank you in advance for INFORMED answers.
  18. My sister is an RN in the USA and had back problems also. She said the same thing. Absolutely need xrays and/or an MRI to make sure there are not structural issues etc.. and a proper diagnosis. Thank you Sheryl
  19. Anyone had any luck with any of the Doctors available at Bangkok Pattaya Hospital or Pattaya International? A spine specialist is what I "think" I need now and/or perhaps also a chiropractor. This back problem was probably brought on by an injury I suffered some two years ago and then made even worse by sleeping in a soft bed at a hotel for awhile.
  20. I've been experiencing lower back pain on and off for two years, some days better than others.. not acute but ache that comes and goes. Anybody recommend a good Doctor in Pattaya or BKK that will xray and make a good diagnosis and recommend treatment ( I will not go to Nigel Kelsey, he's not a doctor ) Thank you for any help from experienced people. Please only recommendations from people who have had experience with solving lower back problems.. thank you.
  21. I have been living in country (Pattaya) for the last 3 years.. considering the recent out break and my global travel health insurance NOT covering me for Covid 19 I wish to buy Covid 19 coverage in country. Anybody know of any reputable and reasonable companies offering Covid 19 specific insurance in Thailand or even better here in Pattaya. thank you for good solid answers coming from experience or direct references in media or otherwise.
  22. You don't know my girlfriend.. she's been over spending the budget on cucumbers and carrots while I've been away. She is complaining and jealous of her friends toys. She says.. honey carrot have no USB!!! It's back to blightly for me and a trip to the ye olde sex shoppe to keep the woman happy. In the mean time I'll get my 2 shots of Moderna and a couple penicillin (you know just in case). 2 weeks in Quarantine and back to LOS
  23. The real challenge is to find good sex toys in this country... my girlfriend is at her wit's end and more jealous by the minute as her friend's expat husband brought her a Hitachi super wand with the power prikley attachment from home! Now that's about put me over the edge ... I swear I'm on the next plane back to blighty.
  24. Didn't give up, I actually run my own email servers and domains as I have 20 years in the dot com industry. Created about 5 more email addresses on my server. One finally went through and I finished the registration. But as I said the web site is poorly coded, was obviously not load tested or put through any quality control which is standard for any web site offering an important service. TIT .. yea it's Thailand.. there is a reason it's inexpensive to live here --the infrastructure, education, management techniques etc etc are far below western standards.
