I've not really been following this story. By chance I was talking to three Kurdish guys a few minutes ago. They said they were pleased to see the end of Assad but worried about the rebels. I saw commentary yesterday indicating ( from a Muslim source ) that the rebels are bad news with the worst traits of the Taliban and ISIS running through a couple of the groupings. The Kurds said to me that at best Syria will stabilise as Egypt did after the Arab Soring, but they think its more likely to result in a Libya level collapse. I can't see how that helps anyone and Turkey in particular will be like a cat on a hot tin roof in that event.

I already explained. The real target here is to bring the federal deficit down so that the cost of borrowing can be reduced. I'm not goin over that again. You clearly don't understand the concept of open source ( lol ). Would you be amazed to hear that the entirety of X ( Twitter ) is open source? The company that was supposed to go bankrupt after laying off 80% of it's employees and is now the number one news aggregator with record user metrics in the world? Can you explain the benefits of open source? Do you even know what it is?

He didn't say $2 trillion a year. You made that up in your head. And I just posted about open sourcing. The assumption that the Federal; government is going to attack people's income entitlement is just another disgusting Democrat lie. They are not after people's pensions. That would be political suicide. They are going after rip-off contracts and unnecessary management structures etc

The Congressional issue = watch out for political opponents to DOGE saying that Congress has the final say. Correct. Here's the problem. Congress has hundreds of agency programs operating with expired authorisation. Literally laws are being enforced by people who don't have the necessary permissions. So all Trump has to do is sign an executive order banning all these programs from continuing, and force Congress to go back over each and every one and either cancel the program or re-authorise. Sounds easy, right? The problem is - Congress doesn't have the time to re-authorise every program. But the problem for Trump is - some of the programs will suit his agenda. The next two years is going to see a Battle Royale in DC, and with people such as Sanders, Fetterman and Khanna lining up behind DOGE we may well witness the American Left saving Trump's MAGA agenda. This is going to be fun.

I would like to be polite to Democrats but they make it too difficult to discuss anything in a rational fashion. Let me explain what Musk will do, it's his modus operandi on everything. He will open source every government contract. What that means is that every contract will be viewable online and you'll find an army of autists swarming over every single line to see where money is wasted. Medicare is a prime example, not a single end user is happy about the US being ripped off compared to prices in other countries. The savings available to the US government by open sourcing medical contracts will be massive. Therefore the budget can be slashed without affecting the end user experience. Apply the same to every single Federal agency and two things will come to pass. The first one is virtually dream territory - to balance the budget. If that is achieved, or near achieved, then the cost of financing the national debt will drop. On top of that thousands of employees in zombie programs will be laid off - I reckon by the mid terms there will be a reduction of 300,000 Federal employees. Then we have the Congressional issue.

Biden Administration Weighs Preemptive Pardons Amid Trump’s Return
theblether replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Picture the situation. Adam Schiff, who led the impeachment against Trump, receives a blanket pardon dated to Jan 1 2016. By law, he then cannot use the 5th Amendment in front of Congressional inquiries or Grand Juries. He could refuse to testify to Congress. The last guy that did that was Steve Bannon, and how the Democrats celebrated when he was jailed for contempt. "Oh, what a tangled we weave, When first we practice to deceive." The Democrats should be wary of outsmarting themselves. -
Biden Administration Weighs Preemptive Pardons Amid Trump’s Return

Correct - these are untested legal waters and its an extraordinary move by Biden. In my opinion the Supreme Court would love to clarify this part of the Constitution. Tom Fitton, of Judicial Watch, has already said that pre-emptive pardons won't work. You can guarantee he will be all over this issue like a rash. -
Biden Administration Weighs Preemptive Pardons Amid Trump’s Return

Correct - you need to accept your are guilty before being pardoned. There are legal ramifications including the loss of the 5th Amendment right if you are pulled before a Congressional inquiry or Grand Jury. The notion of pardoning a "phantom" crime would almost certainly end up at the Supreme Court. Before that happens, Hunter would need to be charged with a felony that occurred with the pardon period. SCOTUS wouldn't take it on until 2026 at the earliest, we'd maybe see a verdict in June that year, otherwise 2027. Jack Smith is already being investigated for misconduct by the DOJ, it will be interesting to see if he is given a "phantom" pardon. -
Ah, yes - I notoriously know nothing about US politics. What an idiotic comment, truly astounding.

Worthless comment, truly worthless.

Trump Condemns Biden's Pardon of Hunter as 'Miscarriage of Justice'

I just told you why Obama issued so many commutations. And by the way, George W Bush was the man who moved first to undo the scandalous racist attack launched against African-Americans by the Democrats in the 1990's. A true stain on the Democrat party and it's unbelievable that they were not seriously punished for it by the A-A electorate. -
The village knows, the police know, the professionals know. The police will move when they decide its appropriate. In some cases, that is never, as they know they are dealing with the hopeless dregs of Thai society. Action will be taken when the village, and the police decide, not some blustering farang.

Kash Patel's "Government Gangster" Hit List
theblether replied to Walker88's topic in Political Soapbox
I can't be bothered going through all of that. You need to accept guilt prior to a pardon. Check Burdick v United States. -
ps - 2025 is going to be the year from hell for the Democrats. If just10% of what is alleged is true the Democratic Party of the USA may cease to be an entity next year.

1. As a Brit, everyone believes the TV presenter is guilty. 2. As a sane member of the human race, no one believes the rape fantasist who actually said on national TV she has said fantasy. 3. As an observer - every single one of you Democrats would have voted for Bill Clinton this year if you had the chance. The guy who ejaculated on an intern inside the Oval Office. By the way, read the transcripts of the Hunter Biden trial, where he admits he turned his brothers widow into a crack whore. Between Weinstein, P Diddy, Epstein, Clinton, and the Biden family, you Democrats need to shut your stupid mouths.

Trump Condemns Biden's Pardon of Hunter as 'Miscarriage of Justice'

I did do the research. Now feel free to explain who double-launched the brazen racial attack on African-Americans during the drug war. Apologize to the forum when you answer. -
Okay, this is the second underage sex thread I've read on this forum today. I didn't reply to the last one as the last time I did it ended up 35 pages worth of toxicity. I jest you not. I'll answer this one as the OP deserves an answer. 1. Get rid of this low IQ clown. Write off the money, she is not worth the effort and there is no solution to her feckless dumbness. 2. If your wife raises her name again, reply "not my house" then shut up. 3. Thai professionals are involved in this case. They have a duty of care. At this point you are excused of all legal responsibility in this case - assuming you had any in the beginning ( you didn't ). Every Thai village has a percentage of the population that are truly worthless. They are beyond help, but hey, every society can say the same. I'm sorry you have allowed one these individuals to interfere with your Thai dream. Put an end to that, right now. I've said continuously on this forum that way to many of you are bumping up against low IQ, bipolar, psychologically inept, personality disordered weirdos in Thailand. This is the true reason why Thais cringe when they see you wandering around with their equivalent of crack whores ( literally in some cases ). Yabba is a hell of a drug. Setting aside the sexual element of this catastrophe, the bottom line is that the OP knew he was continuing to here a dumpster fire with a label called chaos hanging from her ass. Give it a rest. Walk away.

Trump Condemns Biden's Pardon of Hunter as 'Miscarriage of Justice'

Foolish talk. Trump pardoned or commuted 237. Obama 1900 plus. Do some basic research before commenting. Trump had the third lowest number of pardons/commutations of any President since the year 1900.
