China Halts Critical Exports as Trade War Intensifies
I'm in the market for a new phone and pc so I'm hoping a lot of stock will be dumped in Europe when the price gets too high in the US.

Good points but hell will freeze over before gorgeous George would apologise for anything. That said he is one of the best old school orators who can talk on the hoof we have had post WW2.

Devastation in Sumy: Dozens Killed as Russian Missiles Strike City Center
President Donald Trump’s special envoy described his talks with Russian leader Vladimir Putin last week as “compelling,” saying they discussed steps that could end the war in Ukraine and perhaps lead to business opportunities. At the end of a nearly five-hour meeting, the envoy, Steve Witkoff, told Fox News in an interview on Monday, Putin made his request to secure “a permanent peace,” a development Witkoff said “took a while for us to get to.” https://archive.is/78Avr#selection-1497.0-1501.222

Even the blinkered Trump and MAGA fans must smell a rat now?
Very true — the collapse is incoming, and you're right: Trump or no Trump, it's baked into the system. At the end of an empire, they rise and fall. (Though China has endured far longer than any in history — six to seven times longer than the U.S. so far.) Trump’s delusion is that he believes he can fix it. His powers of persuasion and low cunning have roped in half of the U.S., betting it all on one big red or black spin of the global roulette wheel. But in reality, all he’s "fixed" is the massive wealth he can skim through insider trading — for himself and his cronies. The Western billionaire class could have allowed much of that wealth to flow back to the middle and working classes — the very people who earned it, and upon whom society is built. Instead, they’d rather ride rocket ships into space. We’re all going to die anyway. And for those of us still here, there has never been a better time to be alive — to understand our world, and our fate.

Actually the USSR. The west was desperate to de nuclearise where they could because of the threats of nuclear material getting into the hands of terrorists , and rightly so.- Devastation in Sumy: Dozens Killed as Russian Missiles Strike City Center
I totally trust WillyOAM on his takes. Will go and have a look now. All attacks on civilian places are horrific wherever they happen in the world. No ifs no buts. We are entering an age of barbarism where the international rules based order no longer holds. The ICC for all intents and purposes is dead.- Devastation in Sumy: Dozens Killed as Russian Missiles Strike City Center
Are you mad or do you genuinely beleive that ? The world and their dog would come down on Ukarine like a ton of bricks in that scenario if they ever had that ability. The whole point of both sides having nuclear weapons is you get to nuclear stalemate so neither side will use them. That and the huge costs of developing and maintaining them which would have diverted resources from more conventional arnaments.- Devastation in Sumy: Dozens Killed as Russian Missiles Strike City Center
It's not the first time that Ukarine has gathered AFU award winners in a single place. You would think they had learnt by now that Russian spies are everwhere. https://kyivindependent.com/sumy-governor-organized-military-award-ceremony-on-day-of-russian-mass-attack-official-claims/ Artem Semenikhin, the mayor of the Sumy Oblast city Konotop, accused regional Governor Volodymyr Artiukh of planning an awards ceremony for the 117th Brigade in Sumy on April 13 — the same day Russia launched a devastating ballistic missile attack on the city center. The event posed undue risk to civilians and military personnel, Semenikhin claimed.- Even the blinkered Trump and MAGA fans must smell a rat now?
The irony for the MAGA blowhards long on dollars via the exchange rate and 401 funds is they along with many others are going to be rinsed as Trump wrecks the finacial plumbing of the world. The global financial community has increasingly perceived Trump as unreliable, leading to a growing trend of nations diversifying away from dollar reserves and U.S. Treasuries. This shift is a primary driver behind the surge in gold prices, effectively reversing the Bretton Woods agreement. This divergence is occurring while Trump receives praise domestically. The impending financial crisis, though yet to fully materialize, poses a substantial threat. The U.S. government's massive debt, which is largely financed by foreign entities that once viewed the U.S. as a safe haven, is now at risk. With diminished trust, higher interest rates will be required to compensate for increased risk. Furthermore, Trump's proposed tax cuts will exacerbate the situation, creating a downward spiral of federal financial instability. This could jeopardize essential programs like Medicaid and Social Security. That's what winning looks like but on the plus side we only have 2 genders. When the gold price is soaring, we should all be afraid Donald Trump is at war with himself – and putting the might of the US economy at risk https://archive.ph/ymwcQ That huge debt- Trump is an idiot.
America's Brexit moment on steroids. Market undergoing ‘rapid de-dollarisation’ The financial markets are undergoing a process of “rapid de-dollarisation” as it reassesses the attractiveness of the greenback as the world’s global reserve currency, an economist has said. The dollar has also seen a historic weakening, with the euro on Thursday posting its biggest gain against the greenback since 2015 (+2.30pc) and gold trading at an all-time of $3,215/oz this morning. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2025/04/11/trump-tariffs-latest-ftse-100-markets-share-price-china/ So it begins https://www.forbes.com/sites/joelshulman/2025/04/09/us-rally-at-risk-as-china-may-be-dumping-treasuries/- Poll -- Who will cave first in the momentous China-USA trade war?

I know who I'd be betting on - what come up quickly goes down quickly. 🇨🇳 China Civilization began: Around 2100 BCE (with the semi-mythical Xia Dynasty). Unified empire began: 221 BCE, when Qin Shi Huang united the warring states into the Qin Dynasty—this is where the name “China” comes from. So China has over 4,000 years of continuous civilization and over 2,000 years as a unified state (off and on, with dynasties rising and falling). 🇺🇸 United States Independence declared: 1776 CE That makes the U.S. about 250 years old.- Poll -- Who will cave first in the momentous China-USA trade war?
At the end it was just the kids that worshipped Hitler all the old folks who could hold a rifle were probably dead !- Poll -- Who will cave first in the momentous China-USA trade war?
As Vlad Vexler implies in his chats it is over - we are at the end of a huge bubble of everything which American finacial trickery and huge debt and huge QE has made possible. The young know they aren't rich as they can't buy houses, have decent long term jobs or pensions and are saddled with debt. This decline could probably have been unwinded slow and progressively - the Trump put has gone for the blow it all up route. No that he knows that yet. 7th bankruptcy on the way - USA.- Thanks to Donald, finally we know.
He's a lunatic - that's all you need to know and one who persuaded half of America to vote for him. setting aside the specific concerns about residual 10% tariffs, we’ve entered a window now where the world wants to check out of US investments as the trust and confidence in the US regime has evaporated. This is what happens when you don’t play nice -you soon find that nobody wants to play with you. Consequences will eventually be catastrophic for US citizens, amongst others.- Thanks to Donald, finally we know.
New MAGA party line that follows on from Trump had the best stock market ever. Wealth is being destoyed needlessly by an idiot and we will all be poorer in the end. Except his inner circle mates who are trading the chaos with insider knowledge.- Poll -- Who will cave first in the momentous China-USA trade war?

Markets crashing again. This is looking like a start of a catastrophe. He pulled back, but his off-ramp plan aint working and he and his friends insider traded. Nobody has confidence in US and it's crashing! This orange clown caused it - there is only one question how do we get rid of him before he destroys us all. But it may already be too late - we are cursed to live in interesting times. https://archive.ph/TiACZ- Economist magazine sounds alarm about new market 'convulsions'
https://archive.ph/B7XJq Both sides’ tariffs are causing deep economic harm; they may also raise the risk of a military showdown. A more promising route for America was to marshal its allies into a free-trade bloc large enough to force China to change its trade practices as the price of admission. This was the strategy behind the Trans-Pacific Partnership, a trade deal that Mr Trump binned in his first term. Scott Bessent, the treasury secretary, talks of doing a trade deal with allies and approaching China “as a group”. But now that it has bullied its allies and reneged on its past deals, America will find they are less willing to co-operate. Such is the short-sightedness of Mr Trump’s reckless agenda. In a mere ten days the president has ended the old certainties that underpinned the world economy, replacing them with extraordinary levels of volatility and confusion. Some of the chaos may have abated for now. But it will take a very long time to rebuild what has been lost.- Economist magazine sounds alarm about new market 'convulsions'
Markets in turmoil again - the world and his dog knows that The Trump Organisation America is not to be trusted. Smart money will try and get as far away from the dumpster fire as they can. https://archive.ph/B7XJq But when prices on imported goods, particularly from China, rise many times above inflation, this will lead to higher interest rates and all the negative consequences for a nation already relying too heavily on credit rather than savings. The next impacts are as predictable as they are depressing: a sluggish economy results in less job security and lower jobs growth as employers cut their cloth. Then, as the competition for jobs increases, wage levels fall and people fall further into debt, generating an inter-generational rise in poverty that future administrations will have to tackle or, more likely, ignore.- Poll -- Who will cave first in the momentous China-USA trade war?
Indeed with the ability to shake down or even arrest and execute rogue billionaires if they are getting too rich and/or corrupt. Now I like that a bigly lot. A billion is more than enough for anyone - the rest is stealing the worker's labour.- Poll -- Who will cave first in the momentous China-USA trade war?
