Just figured out how hard it's actually to get to contact Thai Airways. Wanted to take a flight in near time to Europe, I don't have a problem with Chinese airspace. I spend my best 5 years in China, but that means from there they going into Russian airspace???? I'm not yet 50 years old, but the only two civilian aircraft's I remember shot down were by Russians. Ask Korean Air, and the other over Ukraine not so long ago was a Malaysian flight???

I like living here and it is better than when I first arrived.

I would say because you know your neighborhood by now.

The locals have almost never been a problem.

It's the government's policy decisions not to welcome us anymore.

Why many reasons, first of all starting our friends starting to ask questions about things are handled.

"Appropriate license" can obviously be a Thai license, but also an International Driving Permit / License.  It must be accompanied by a valid driving license from the license holder's country of residence and must be issued for the class of vehicle being used.

Thailand is part of the convention.

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Driving_Permit

In fact I was given back the national license all the times without any checking. They had only looked at the international one, and it didn't appear that police was knowing what to check.

More interesting would be if you covered insurance-wise without a Thai DL?

  5. Some close friends had grown some Palm trees 10 or so years ago. Actually on my advice. They have done not so bad. And it's been farmland before. So are all the other places I,'m aware about. It might be different in the south, however, I doubt there much Jungle leftover.

So if Thailand is now going to B20, I am good with that. The only thing what makes me wonder is why did they stop the B5 a copple of years ago?

You mean it is the duty of the check-in / boarding staff to check the expiry date of your passport?

So, one has to come to the airport to know if the passport is valid for onward travel?

YOUR passport is NOT your responsibility?

What a state this world has dropped to?

Of course is it my responsibility, I actually meant that airline staff should check as well and let you not board, b4 you end up beeing denied by an IO

     - a glaring example of one such is, when someone forgets the expiry date of his/her passport! Now, is that a duty of the IM of ANY country?

No, should be the duty of the check-in / boarding stuff from the airline. But I should have made a video from my last flight with stop-over in IST, how secure the boarding stuff was. They had not a bloody idea 'bout visa regulations for Turkey, hell, is that so difficult to get a piece of paper where all the nationalities are listed. After all they have daily flighs not once in a month. They asked about the misus, I tell them wer're on transit, but there was no check on that  either.

On a Technicality when you do that, once you've passed immigration  you've entered the Kingdom

On a Technicality it's probably illegal to install a Thai ATM-machine outside Thailand (aka b4 immigration), however you can find exchange booths there. In swampy it's run by SCB if my mind serves me well. Never ever someone tried to get cash from there whilst using CC?

  9. I was on a chat with Lazada last week, and it might be possible, but actually you have to deal with the actual shop.

I ended up to buy a bit of a lower version of a Xiaomi phone, the Poco F1, it was just below 10000, and not worth the hassle.

After all it's only 7% vat and there is a handling fee as well.

On the other hand, I had 2-3 years back a computer purchase in Germany (online, VAT 19%), after stamping it out at the airport, I sended back the stamped bill, and got the full amount back on my CC. Made the purchase in the GF's name (Thai passport).

I read a bit through the Amazon website a couple of weeks back, they offer the same servive, you just have to know.

  10. I'm after the Xiaomi MI8, found an offer on LAZADA for the 256GB version which matches almost the Aliexpress prices.

As I'm on a short trip to Cambodia anyway next month, I would like to claim the VAT at Swampy. Is the yellow form mandatory, or could you claim the tax as well on Swampy, assumed you have the correct receipt, which you should actually have if ordered online.
