Seeing as immigration are asking for updated TM.30, this might be of interest to some. I went and renewed mine on Monday at the Immigration Crime Suppression Unit in Choengmon. There was only one officer present, and the whole yard outside was full of Burmese doing whatever they do. I went inside, sat and waited. Was called to desk in about five minutes, and out in another five.

If I recall correctly, I used an app on my computer called Vuescan, to scan both sides from printer scanner, and saved them as files. I then printed them, but used the “Print as double sided document” or words to that effect. i did the same for TM.8. Pretty sure they are still there, but as I said. I broke my screen.

I got all the forms yesterday, but couldn’t find the list of requirements and staff didn’t understand what I wanted. Also. Can anyone explain what no.13 on that list is? Documents order of Royal Thai Police. Are they asking for something? Or is it just stating an order? TIA I will go to Choengmon Immigration today to try and get an updated TM.30.

Has anyone got an up to list of all latest requirements to renew extension based on retirement? I went to immigration this morning to pick up TM.7 and TM.8, tried asking, but couldn’t get any joy. Just “copy passport”, “copy visa”. Reading on here recent new requirements of new TM.30 report and photos showing accommodation address. Trying to save myself being turned away. TIA

Most probably came to avoid problems associated with the war against Ukraine, liked the vibe and the sunshine and decided to stay. With large numbers of their compatriots around them doing the same thing, it probably feels like ‘Little Russia.” Some are opening businesses, some just wealthy, and others working online. Probably a criminal element as well. But that’s the same for all nationalities. They have as much right as the rest of us to be here, and I don’t doubt there are many nice ones. Unfortunately for me, I got some bad ones. They were evicted for constant noise problems and ignoring many polite requests to quieten things down. Drove me and my neighbours mad for months. Another Russian family two doors away are as quiet as mice.

He was never worried one little bit about going away. Not one grey hair on his head.😊 -
I used the 13 digit number that is in the yellow vaccination book. My one starts with 600000xxxxxxx I entered that as username/ ID number and clicked on forgot password. I was then sent a one time password to allow me to set a new login password.

App has now been updated again. Problem is now fixed and can access again.

Spicy is subjective according to the taste and familiarity and acclimatisation with spicy foods. What the chef or some diehard Isaan or Souther Thai ( they seem to like the really spicy stuff) might consider normal might blow the socks of someone who has never eaten spicy food. e.g. When I used to regularly eat Som Tum with a group of Thai's might chilli count went up to seven. The Thais were eating ten, fifteen, or more. Can't do it now though, as don't eat it so much.

Anyone Else Finding AseanNow Almost Unusable Recently❓
phetphet replied to Skeptic7's topic in Forum Support Desk
I am still getting the Invision 4 page whenever I enter the www.aseannow.com web address. The only way I can access the site is by doing a google search for aseannow. -
Don’t know if this has already been reported, but as title says, Bangkok Airways hacked and customers information accessed. They recommend changing passwords and beware of anyone contacting.

Same as you, I have never needed to enter a username or password. Just always opened the app on my iPhone. After today’s update it would not open and asked for username and password. I finally found my yellow book and got my 13 digit ID number for foreigners. Used that with ‘forgot password’ to create a new password. Received a one time password to do this…all good until trying to login again without success. When I press login a screen full of computer code flashes up. See a few lines below for any code savvy members. It does show my ID number and name in the code, so there must be some sort of error. Cannot screenshot for some reason. DatabaseExceptionErrorDomain=FMDatabase Code=1”table user has no column named dspname “UserInfo={NSLocalizedDescription=table user has no column named dspname})sql ‘INSERT INTO user (id, pid, pid_enc, dspname, dspename, passcode, biometric, http_token) VALUES (?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?) args…

Heads up! Noticed there was an update for the Mor Prom app on my iPhone this morning. Did the update and now is asking for Citizen ID / User number and Password. Never happened before with previous updates. As I recall, there was a 13 or 14 digit registration number as User ID. I don’t think there was ever a Password, so maybe have to re-register before being able to open the app. Might be better not to update for now.

Seeing as Christmas is coming, I thought I would maybe treat myself to some Hayward’s Piccalilli. Goes well with cheese and cold meats. But boy was I shocked at the price. Now I know we have to pay a premium for imported western foodstuffs, and I do often order UK foods from Food Variety etc, but the cheapest prices on Lazada ranged from THB557 to over THB800 per 400g jar. That’s almost £14-£20. UK varies from £1 to £3.18 according to price check. See attached. Anyone know why some imported items are marked up so much more than others here?

Do you put up the Christmas lights ?
phetphet replied to CharlieH's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Yes. But only on the Christmas tree. -
I remember that a few years ago, Bangkok Bank ceased offering Visa Debit cards. They replaced them with either MasterCard or Union Pay. I saw somewhere today that they are now offering both a Visa M Debit Card and a Visa M virtual debit card. The M seems to stand for a tie up with the Mall Group, giving some special offers to cardholders.

Saw in the news that this merger has been approved. As a happy 3BB customer, I cannot see anything good coming of this. Even though the NBTC has put a price cap on AWN (AIS internet subsidiary) increasing prices for five years, I can’t help thinking this will create a more expensive, possibly lesser quality service. AIS is already more expensive than 3BB. Thailand does seem to love a monopoly.

Your Mic is Open and Google is Listening
phetphet replied to Chris Daley's topic in IT and Computers
OP. Not saying you are wrong, but Google’s suggestions might just be location based. if you had previously searched for a restaurant, it might just be a suggestion sent based on your location. if you have Google Maps running on your phone, they can probably track you by that. -
Your Mic is Open and Google is Listening
phetphet replied to Chris Daley's topic in IT and Computers
It’s not just the phone companies. There were several reports, both in the U.K. and US about all those Chineses manufactured security cameras having ‘back doors’ in them Apparently, even if the camera and microphone were turned off, it was still possible to listen in on conversations in the rooms where they were places. I think the U.K. government were warned to remove them from many buildings and / or offices. The US likewise. -
Germany grants 16 billion baht to Thailand for climate change projects
phetphet replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Someone somewhere must be rubbing their hands with glee, thinking all their Christmas's have come early. Thailand should invest in more, bigger solar projects for a start. Offer better incentives to encourage domestic solar installation as well. Tighten up on diesel emissions too. Far too many vehicles spewing thick, black smoke.
