phetphet replied to snoop1130's topic in Koh Samui News
So many competing for business that they are diversifying into serving drinks, food, gaming, and now apparently mushrooms. -
Do you guys feel good about this ,the reporter says to ICE agents as…

Nothing wrong with getting illegals out. I just don't like the way Trump and his cronies are going about it. Sure. send them back to their own countries, and if criminals, convict and deport them. But just grabbing people off the street and sending them to virtual concentration camps in a third country without due process and likely for life is wrong. -
Crime Brutal Bloodshed in Pattaya: Briton Stabbed, Suspects Vanish

Hopefully the victim will be able to give more info to the Police on the cause of the attack and identities of the perps. -
Extremely popular in the UK as a quick snack, meal, or as an accompaniment. Brits eat more of them than anyone. You might not like them, but each to their own.

I once tried to read the Terms & Conditions of I think it was the the Rabbit Card for travel on the BTS. They were very extensive, and stated that customers agreed to being videotaped on BTS stations, recorded on microphones and tracked throughout the system. Seeing as nowadays, under the excuse of preventing money laundering, users are required to give ID or Passport details to obtain the Rabbit Card, it's easy to track and identify anyone and everyone as they pass through the ticket barriers. It's not hard to imagine that the BTS are doing exactly the same. I tried posting them here on AN once on a thread about privacy, but they were removed for some reason by a moderator.

Report Thai submarine plans sink as Germany halts engine sale
phetphet replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Thai submarine plans "sink." Great play on words. 😀 Germany halts submarine engine sale. That will "go down" well with the Thai gov't. Has all this "torpedoed" the Royal Thai Navy's desire to have a submarine? -
The security guards on the platforms with their whistles.

I think there is something to be said for such so called celebrities allowing their children to grow up away from the spotlight, not spoiling them, and allowing them to try and have as normal an upbringing as possible. Two that come to mind are Paul McCartney, who I believe sent his to children to the local government school, and Gordon Ramsey, who has stated his offspring need to make their own way in life, and makes them travel in Economy on family trips.

Maybe buy online from Aliexpress once you are here. Pretty sure I have seen them on there. If you do want to take the risk of bringing one in, I would suggest you remove the batteries first. 1. it will show up less on any X-ray. 2. You wouldn't want it accidentally turning on and creating a suspicious buzzing noise from your luggage.

Perhaps they don't like their neighbours.

Tops occasionally sells fresh Australian spinach leaves, and also Waitrose frozen spinach balls. Also seen spinach leaves in Makro. I didn't look at any scientific names as Zaphod Priest has mentioned, but the Waitrose frozen was definitely spinach.

It's getting more difficult. Those that have been here many years under the radar might manage it. More recent ones though. Sooner or later their passports will expire, even if they are using another identity. Renewal time may present a problem, but if they can renew, but never leave the country, they may continue to lay low. Nowadays the finger printing might be the downfall. Do the Thai authorities fingerprint travellers departing by land or sea? They have done by air for a few years now. Are these prints checked against any foreign databases? Or just to check who enters, leaves?

Credit card hacked !
phetphet replied to ravip's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
I had mine hacked when back in Europe. I only used it in two places to buy a coffee. both via handheld terminals. It was only when I was checking my bill that I saw someone had run up £400 on Facebook Ads. My bank took the hit, but new card is in the UK so I can't get it until I next fly back. I don't trust the post. I use the scan to pay option here for shopping with my Thai bank account as I don't have a Thai credit card. Other than that, cash. But I am very wary of using my actual UK debit cards anywhere. Unlike credit cards, no protection on debit cards. -
He doesn't need them to buy him a plane to bribe him. That's what the $TRUMP coin is for.

I am pro vaccination, and I do recognise that their will always be some people that are allergic to, or will have adverse reactions to some vaccines. But I too would be nervous about giving so many vaccinations at one time to a child. The body has to fight, and build immunity to each shot. So many at one time seems a lot to ask of the immune system.

I am happy with 3BB. When I last went to their shop, it seems they were still offering their same packages. I have the 1Gb/500Mb. Around THB 750/ month if I recall correctly. I paid one year up front which gets 7% or 8% discount when I renewed late last year. I noticed that they now have newer WiFi 6 routers. Mine is WiFi 5.

The tariffs are here to stay. No way they can be removed if Trump expects to re-shore US manufacturing. Anything made in the US will be more expensive, and tariffs will be needed to make them competitive against foreign imports. If Trump's first term China tariff negotiations are anything to go by, these upcoming ones will take months, if not years, and Trump's tendency to offend the Chinese could still put things right back to square one at any time. Any future deals he might sign will not be worth the paper they will be written on. Trump's word is certainly not his bond.
