Have you changed your mind on the COVID Vaccines?
phetphet replied to Chomper Higgot's topic in COVID-19 Coronavirus
Have had one AZ shot. Second one due this month. But like others I feel a bit nervous about the new mRNA type vaccines. Even though I did register in a couple of places earlier this year for Moderna when it was looking like there would be no vaccination for foreigners. I am glad to have had AZ. I do feel the drug companies are rushing to push out whatever they can under EUA's. -
Got to recoup those covid losses somehow. No tourists. They must have taken a very big hit on their bottom line.
-
Have you checked for any safety concerns regarding mixing different vaccine types before you go ahead?
-
What does he mean? I thought Thailand, through Siam Bioscience had agreed the the rights to produce AZ. Is there a time limit on that? Seems a very short one if cannot produce next year.

I doubt they will be burning much in Samut Prakan. According to the news the place is under about four feet of water. completely flooded. Daily News reported on severe flooding in Samut Prakan particularly at the industrial estate in the province south east of the Thai capital Bangkok. Many workers in the estate were unable to save their vehicles and were getting about in boats after heavy rain yesterday. -

Bangkok Airways Notice of Cyber Security Incident.

Not sure what I will try next. Still investigating. I like 1Password and have been using it for about three or four years, but from version 8 it is going to be subscription only. I only need it for passwords, not all the other stuff they now bundle it with. Reading reviews on LastPass, KeePassXC, EnPass, Keeper , BitWarden. I might even go back to DashLane if they are offering discounts as it was pretty good. I can't understand why you could not sign up using their discount code. Maybe try another code. Just google dashlane discount codes. Alternatively go to their website and they offer discounts for yearly memberships https://www.dashlane.com/plans -
Doesn't Amazon any VPN or geoblocking and only let you watch things that can be watched abroad? I have tried several times to watch movies or series on Amazon Prime even with a VPN set to the UK. I still get a message along the lines of: We have detected that you are not in the UK and can therefore only watch permitted items for abroad.

Bangkok Airways Notice of Cyber Security Incident.

Yes. A password manager is a must nowadays. I have used both Dashlane and 1Password. Currently using 1Password, but looking to change to something else as it is going subscription. But no password manager can protect against bad, or a lack of security, or hack, and this one seems a bad one due to the types of personal information stolen. Once the hackers have got your information you are compromised. It will be sold or shared on the dark web, and aggregated with other information about you gleaned from other hacks. Be prepared for lots of personal addressed phishing scams as well as credit card fraud. It seems Bangkok Airways might have been victim of a ransomware attack. from the excerpt below, today might be the day that all our information is released into the wild. This announcement, published last Friday, coincides with the posts of the LockBitransomware hackers, who claim to have access to around 103 GB of information extracted from the airline, so all this fuss could be related to a ransomware infection. The hackers claim that the compromised information will be exposed this August 31, although LockBit is not characterized by honoring its word. A few weeks ago, ransomware operators threatened to leak thousands of sensitive records extracted from technology services company Accenture, though this leak never came. -
Seems like Bangkok Airways was hacked on 23rd August and a lot of customer data taken. https://www.securitynewspaper.com/2021/08/30/bangkok-airways-became-victim-of-lockbit-ransomware-hackers-leak-passengers-passport-and-personal-data/ This is a lot of comprehensive data on customers, including passport data. See below from an email I received. We write to inform you now out of the greatest caution that this incident has exposed some of your personal data in our possession to be compromised by the attacker. From our investigation, the personal data that has been accessed are passenger name, family name, nationality, gender, phone number, email, address, contact information, passport information, historical travel information, partial credit card information, and special meal information. Please be assured that such incident does not affect the aviation security and we are still open for business as usual.

Good luck with that. Only mentions domestic agencies, Team Thailand, and for Thailand. Nothing about international standards, international acceptance or export to the rest of the world. They might be able to force it on the Thai public, but unless the international medical agencies recognise it as safe, it won't be going nowhere. Even if they are hoping to make big bucks.

On my list for the next time I am able to return to UK: A mix of 1/2" and 3/4" BSPT brass fittings. Had a hell of a job fitting new bathroom taps. Kept leaking because of straight threads in to pipes in wall. Tapered would have done the job perfectly. Also some proper thread compound for domestic water.
