  1. You are entitled to your opinions and in the the same spirit I am entitled to not have to waste my time reading them. Blocked!
  2. Now that is an opinion and you are welcome to it. Scary video about burning BYD recently in Thailand Is not an opinion, it’s just not true
  3. Scaremongering more like. The BYD Thailand incident was an electrical fault not a battery fire. The car is being repaired under warranty and returned to the owner. BYD hybrid fires in China is not relevant to Thailand as BYD doesn’t sell hybrids here. Please keep your personal (uninformed) opinions to yourself
  4. BYD Seal Prices announced in Europe at the Munich motor show The BYD Seal is offered in two versions in Europe with starting prices of 44,900 euros ($48,210) ฿1.7m for the 82.5kW RWD and 50,990 euros ($51,675) ฿1.8m for the AWD performance. These prices should be lower in Thailand due cheaper shipping costs and Government incentives here. The BYD Seal is currently available in five versions in China with a starting price range of RMB 189,800 ($26,000) ฿926k for the 61.4kWh RWD to RMB 279,800 ($38,300) ฿1.36m for the AWD performance model Still no word of the official Thai price. https://cnevpost.com/2023/09/05/byd-presents-6-models-at-munich-auto-show/
  5. I’m not comfortable posting negative comments about companies on a public forum, but will respond to a pm
  6. I was on the building committee of a 300+ unit condominium in Pattaya for 5 years. We changed management companies several times. Optima Management Services is the only one I would recommend. Not the cheapest. Small company run by a Brit. We had many non payers when he arrived, he started taking them to court and they soon starting paying.
  7. Did you sit inside? They are surprising roomy inside due to having wheels at each corner and a tiny electric powertrain. I thought the fit and finish was excellent considering the price.
  8. Incorrect, the break pads are not involved in the power generation and neither is thermal energy. When I drive my electric car, I don’t touch my breaks, I just lift off the throttle and the same electric motor that was propelling the car forward now acts like a dynamo to charge the battery. Potential energy is involved as it powers the motors in reverse much like pumped hydro.
  9. Excellent introduction to the history of electric cars. The author is extremely knowledgeable.
  10. Make sense financially. You get most of the savings to power the house and EV without adding batteries
  11. It makes sense for China EV manufacturers to employ European designers for cars designed for Europe. BYD employed a previous head of design at Audi who was responsible for the first Audi e-tron to design the BYD Seal
  12. Home Solar and EVs make a great combination. I have excess home solar production in the middle of the day which I put into my EV. The result is no fuel bills and no bill from PEA.
  13. In response to the the usual “China Crap” comments. MG has a design studio in London, which is where the cyberster was designed.
  14. Have test driven multiple MG EVs over the years and never had to sign a form accepting liability. Try another dealer, there are plenty about.
  15. You might have to worry about where to get fuel for your old clunker in a few years time. EV sales in many countries already out strip Diesel sales. Fuel stations are being converted to EV charging stations.
  16. Australian website has gone live already showing the discounts have been removed now back at ฿1.4m for RWD
  17. “Wall box” is what EV owners call the box they fit on the wall to facilitate home charging. It can support EV charging at 7kW single phase and up to 22kW three phase as compared to … which only supports 3kW in 220v countries and half that in 110v countries.
  18. Even pre-facelift model 3s in Inventory are at list price
  19. Since we are talking Tesla Thailand. We have had no price changes here since I posted price information on 7th December 2022 Other countries have had steady price cuts. In Australia the RWD is ฿1.3m
  20. Took a snapshot to the model 3 page this morning (I know pretty sad) just checked now and you can’t order a model 3 but there is a link to inventory that wasn’t there before.
  21. @macahoom Any more to share? I am sure many will be interested.
  22. The loss of the Build Your Dreams Logo and the fish scales I will gladly live without, but no karaoke! ????
  23. I don’t know how much the Seal will cost in Thailand. We can’t use the price in China as it’s LHD and the Chinese market is super competitive right now. So my best guess is that the BYD Seal will cost more than the Atto 3 in Thailand as it is the Atto 4. BYD has been undercutting Tesla on price so we can expect that the Seal to be cheaper than the model 3 especially as Tesla doesn’t get any government subsidies. In conclusion I think the Hong Kong prices won’t be far off what the cost will be in Thailand. What we do know for sure is the price difference for each Seal model.
