My father just came back from Europe and now he has to deal with that mandatory TM30.

I would like to help him to register online.

He owns his house registered as a thai company, but I'm not sure about the documents to provide:

It only asks to give a copy of his passport and tabian ban.

But the Tabian Ban is registered with the name of a company: is it enough or does he have to add copies of the company (where they will see his name) ?

I checked and now I can answer to my own question:
"9 o' clock in afternoon" = 9 AM (not 3PM)

NOT  the "DLT QR LICENCE" !!!

That new (?) appilcation is ONLY for the thais, you can't register with a passport number, it only works with a thai ID card !

9 o clock in Thailand is 6AM + 9 hours = 15H in afternoon

If they wrote only 9H in that application done by thais for the thais ... ok that's 3PM for sure. But that "afternoon"... I dont know what to think ?

I just would like a confirmation... appointment at 9AM or 3PM ? but not easy here because we are all farangs and that new system is for the thais !

PS: it looks like that for the thais now they have 2 options to renew their DL:

1 - As the farangs come early before 8AM, wait hours etc...

2 - Use only the application "DLT Smart Queue", come at 3PM and everything will be done in 1h30 (including the 1h video watching)

That would explain why my wife has been rejected for the video: she came too late (8h15 AM) and all the video cessions of the morning were full (afternoon videos are for the people coming from internet), and that's why they told her: "come at 7AM (to be sure to watch the video in morning)) ok book on internet (to be sure to watch the video in afternoon).

My wife tried to renew her (5 years to 5 years) driving licence. We came at 8AM, she took a ticket and she has been called at 9h30. They told her than the video cessions were fulled, come back tomorow at 7AM (!!!) or book a ticket online.

She went to their website, and if you are thai (LOGIN = Thai ID Card), you can book a ticket.

She booked a ticket for a few days and it asks to come between 9h and 10h30 AFTERNOON.

Does it really mean between 15h and 16h30 ? (the office closes at 16h30).

So does it mean than she can come at 15h, do their tests, watch their video 1H and then they do photos and obtain her DL ?

Can it be SO easy ???

I'm pretty sure that's going to happen, that's why they need time to rethink the TM30.

That's why they need time to rethink that TM30.

And 2 months is a short delay, they have so many options to talk about:

- TM30 only for hotels and exempt the residents from that TM30, but if those residents host some "bad guys" without TM30 ?

- Landlords would have to fill a TM30 only for people on VOA / tourist visa but not for foreigners on 1 year visa ?

- etc etc... not so easy !

I'm not pessimist as you.

They had old procedures as this 40 years TM30 that has to be redone. They also have much more residents on 1 year visa that 40 years ago, that population do they 90 days notification (TM47), so that TM30 is useless.

Let's give them 2 months to redo/rethink what's they really want to do with this TM30 and how to track those "bad guys". For me that TM30 is only for the foreigners on VOA or tourist visa, but that's not so easy to manage so let's give them time to find a good procedure ????

End of TM6 = 90 days notification online will now be possible for all + less paperwork / photocopies.

Let's be positive, that was a good first move.

And about a new TM30 in less than 2 months, maybe that would be a complete new TMxx form. Something not obsolete as those TM30/TM28 that force you to register all the time and that could be done online. That announcement is great too, they improve communication, another good move, peace ????

Maybe online TM47 registration will be fixed for people who got a new passport (and TM6 still linked to the old passport) ?

Sorry if the answer has already been posted, I did a search but I found nothing.

Next month I'll need to renew my driving licence and I'll need to do a Residence Certificate in Jomtien.

I know that now a TM30 is required.

I did it online but I didn't see any paper to print.

So what printed document can we bring to prove that we have been registered online ?

OK about "lose face" etc ... but can not they make a good move, grant a TM30 exemption to all people with a one-year visa who complete their 90-day notifications? (= same address).
This would relax the atmosphere and the media pressure would fall.

You are certainly right, because so far the immigration service in Jomtien did not ask for this TM30, and that changed 2-3 weeks ago.

visa, visa extension, reentry permit, 90 day report, tm30, passport, tm6, financial requirement, work permit, etc

Add also the Residence Certificate (TM30 s now required), Yellow Tabian Ban (doesn't work anymore to renew your driving licence) & the Pink ID Card (that has zero advantage if you have a thai driving licence). And they think that's really easy for us ?

They say that online registration will be fast now ? I tried to register again this morning and 5 hours later I'm still waiting their email to validate my email. They are not working the week-end ?

100% they never wrote back to the applicant and told him he submitted the wrong documents!! And what they require!!

And if that farang is 80-90 years old and living peacefully with his thai wife in Thailand for more than 30 years, that's not really that funny.

If your status is validated, there is an option to get back your forgoten password, have you tried ?

I have an idea for immigration to clean their database: give us a "resident" status.

That article only tells that there is a decline of CHINESE tourists coming in Thailand with TOUR OPERATORS.

That was perfectly predictable. Do you remember the first russian tourists maybe 12-13 years ago ? The early first waves were coming with tour operators and it took only a couple of years to see them coming alone. (BTW a couple of chinese have just purchased a pool villa 100 meters away from mine)

The only conclusion is that we will see more and more chineses coming alone, not in groups.

I've just tried their new Android app, registered and got validated a few days later.

Then I tried to do my 90 notifications:

- Bug n°1: DMZ scan doesn't work, it can read the code in the bottom of my passport but I have a "wrong...." error message

- Bug n°2: I tried to fill it manually but as Internet Explorer I got the error message "please contact...". But now I know that's because I changed my passport and my TM6 departure card is still linked to my old passport.

There are clearly 2 bugs in their application (maybe the 1st bug is linked to the 2nd one because the app can not find the key Tm6 n°/passport n°). And about the 2nd bug, the developers should have display a more comprehensive message, instead of "contact...", that would be better to display "passport xxxxxxx & TM6 yyyyyyy not found in the database".

How can we report bugs in their app ? That's easy to fix ! Just add a table with "Passport change" (old passport n°, date of change, new passport n°) and add a few sql lines to update the "TM6 table" with the new passport n°.

That wont happen: the new 800-400k requirement for the > 50yo has been exactly created for this purpose... and wait for the mess in march 2020 when officers whill have to check the balances of the bank accounts for 1 year !

When poeple answered that poll I'm pretty sure they had in mind the short time visitors who have accident on motorbike etc...

Anyway, in both cases those 2 categories of people bring much much cash than those few non-paid hospital bills, so I really doubt nothing will really change soon.

I've found many versions of the map on google.

A few years ago I heared a rumour about a train station close to the lake Maprachan (east side of the lake), but today I also found a map showing the train station in north Jomtien, a road at the west side of the lake.. I'm confused !
