    Yes, and Thailand closed its borders, the US did not.

    And Thailand closed its border to China in december/january/february/march when hundreds of thousands of chinese tourists came to Thailand with their covid-19 ?

    Do you really think that the covid-19 has start to come in Thailand only in march 2020 ? Same month as in Europe & USA ?

    China & SEA countries had that covid-19 at least 2-3 months before the rest of the world.

    So your answer is to throw open the gates, and encourage the virus to come flooding back into Thailand from all the places in the world with far worse rates of infection and death... So Thailand can become more like the U.S. or U.K.???

    You cannot compare because Thailand reached its peak of the epidemic several months ago:

    Well New Zealand thought they had cracked the nut, they are now heading for a very severe shutdown... Thailand will follow this model and crush the economy .... the military will get harder.   No planes in until 2022 at the earliest...

    NZ & Thailand had exactly the same policy: border closed to tourists + 14 days quarantine.

    Both countries were proud to announce that there was zero local new cases for more than 2 months.

    And surprise in NZ with 4 new local cases in Auckland 2 days ago !
    That clearly shows that the virus was still spreading in NZ even if the borders were closed.

    No countries will stop the virus when they ban their international flights. The virus is everywhere in the world now, sooner or later it will come back in Thailand. Ban international flights is just a waste of time and money ?

    In Thailand the virus was everywhere in february/march, I just hope Thai people are allready immunized.

    PS; Thailand immunized because I believe in that cross immunity, that covid is a "local" covid for people in SEA, that could explain the few deaths in SEA & China... but that's another subject.

  4. Only 59 dead in Thailand at the peak of the epidemic. In February / March I and a few of my friends got mildly ill. What's the worst that could happen even if the tourists were back?

    I have not seen anyone go to the hospital because of covid-19, however what I see is that a Thai couple committed suicide in their house 500 meters from mine 2 days ago . They weren't as old as the deaths from covid-19. They had a restaurant business on a boat, but no more money because of covid and the lack of tourists.

    This is the ONLY serious impact of covid-19 that I will have seen around me:

    ... but of course more research evidence is needed.

    I dont think we need a kind a scientific research to try to understand everything, because it's a new virus and there is an emergency.

    What we really need today it to observe:

    - observe the countries that had 1st the covid (China etc...): no 2nd wave, still some cases but the deaths count is falling
    - Why countries in China/SEA had so few deaths ?
    - Only HCQ helped to treat people, Remdesivir etc ... were a failure

    - A new vaccine wont be available untill at least 6-9 months and wont be tested 100%. But for what if that virus starts to disapear and kills today only few eldery people ?

    That's what I thought about for some time now and could explain low Mortality numbers in some South East Asian countries but of course more research evidence is needed.
    It's believed the virus originated in Horseshoe Bats which are also in Thailand.

    Those bats must also live in Vietnam, Korea, Thailand etc...

    That study told us that 4 other families of covids must help to fight the covid-19.

    As you I can not see other explanations why the covid-19 caused so few deaths in China and SEA ?

    High Temperature : no (cf. Brazil)

    Seasons, winter with lower temperatures: no (cf. new zealand)

    Ethnies: no (cf. Indonesia)

    Seriously ... what else could explain those low figures figures in China/SEA ?

    Others say there is no guaranteed immunity or that it isn't long lasting. That is one of the reasons that making a vaccine is so difficult.

    Your article is from 1st jully and that last study about our T cells has been published only 2 days ago.

    The huge different is the past studies: immunization (& vaccines) were based on our antibodies.

    But TODAY they start to understand that 50% of the population were allready immunized not because of their antobodies BUT their T-cells. They also say that 4 famillies of other covids (animal flues) gives us T cells that immunize us against that covid-19.

    second wave? oh no, another 60 death in 6 months predicted ? oh wait, that is the daily road deaths

    There wont be any 2nd wave, the thai population is allready immunized.

    50% of some populations were allready immunized BEFORE the covid-19 and if you are infected once then you are immunized forever (cf. memory of your "T Cells").

    This is not "conspiracy", that publication came 2 days ago from a really serious institute: https://science.sciencemag.org/content/early/2020/08/04/science.abd3871/tab-pdf

    I really believe that's true, just relax and take a look:

    - That covid-19 killed really few people in China and nearby countries (because population have allready contracted same local covids = high immunization of the people)

    Quote
    Deaths per countries:

    China = 4,634
    South Korea = 301
    Malaysia = 125
    Thailand = 58
    Vietnam = 8
    Taiwan = 7
    Myanmar = 6
    Cambodia = 0

    - The further you move away from China (or the northern hemisphere of Asia), the more severe and fatal the cases of covid-19 will have been. Conversely, the further we move away from it, the more the virus will have killed: Europe <USA <South America

    You could already do your 90-days reports on-line with a new passport (without having left and re-entered the country with that new passport).  IO has updated its 90-day reporting IT system a few months ago, and several reports confirmed that that previous problem has now been solved.

    I tried to do it online 1 month ago (after the "update") and it was still not working.

    I will give anoter try online in 2 month 1/2.

    I was ready to mail mine in,as I have been doing for last 3 years,

    as cannot do online as I have a new passport

    I did my 90 days notification 2 days ago at Jomtien.

    For the 1st time, the officer checked my first stamp Visa from my old passport + my arrival card then he filled something in his computer.

    Maybe after that update, I will be able to do my 90 days notification with my new passport ?

    Would you REALLY want tourists from USA or Europe at the moment?

    Take a look at my post above: even if Thailand would reopen his borders to US or Europe today, there will be less contaminated tourists than early in march when there were zero protection in Thailand.

    The first wave is over in Thailand with 59 deaths, do we have to fear a 2nd wave with 5 or 6 deaths in a country of 66 millions people ?

    Here lies the problem. Thailand isnt a huge country like the US so this province by province decision in stupid! If they say you can buy it then you can buy it, end of story!

    But you will be able to buy booze in Bangkok, so if they want to avoid people travelling to Bkk... they know what they have to do.

    I doubt the ban wont be lifted in Chonburi, we are too close to Bkk.

    1:30 p.m. Saturday 2 May - doing reconnaissance at Villa Market Pattaya in The Avenue Mall. I asked if they were selling booze the next day, gal said they weren't sure if the parent company (HER words!) were allowing it. Just a heads up.

    Because that's not 100% sure, that's up to Chonburi's governor now.

    He will confirm or not the ban this afternoon.
