Attract foreigners by investing in Thailand in exchange for a temporary 5-year visa? It is more like a 5 year lease and cannot reassure investors.
I think a genuine easy-to-obtain resident visa would be much more effective. And not only for the new people willing to settle in Thailand...

100k/m2 and up for badly build condo block. ... Just look around how some look after a few years
Are you really living in Thailand and do you just repeat what you are earing in some bars during your hollydays ?
Because as a resident in Thailand for 17 years:
- that's what are saying all residents who are renting and can not afford to purchase a condo or house (most of them are just jaleous guys with a small budget)
- all farang owners I know are happy of what they purchased... all !- 2

Or spend 500k (soon 600k) on an Elite visa and not an overpriced condo.
Elite Visa is a total waste of money when you are able to do your visa/extentions by yourself. Overpriced condo ???

Nothing has been voted yet, but that's a good news they start to think about the long time residents and their visas.
I hope next step will be to think about all the residents; not only the new ones.
They already thank us during those difficult covid times, but something about a special resident visa would be much better. -

Soi 2, 3, 7, 8, drinking street etc... ? You'll be shocked next time you'll come to Pattaya.

Neo Pattaya is no longer about seedy bars and nightlife.
"Neo" is only for marketing. That's not really "new" that seedy bars are disappearing near beach road for instance. First area was soi 2 and now that's the turn for soi 7 & 8. Nowadays seedy bars have already moved near soi Bukao and with the years they will move even further to the East... With the years the bright side of Pattaya will be emptied of this kind of bars.

In Banglamung, we dont need anymore to wait for 2 months for an appoinment, I went last week and they gave me an appointment for this week.

I think that's possible because I asked her an appointment in afternoon and her answer was "no problem" and she gave me an appointment for 2PM (1 hour video first, then the tests).
PS: Finally not so bad for people like me who dont like to wake up early in morning, this year I didn't need to wake at 6h30AM to start the queue at 8AM. I came at 2h30 PM last week to get an appoint at 2PM this week.

If we can no more order booze delivery online, then for big c for instance, we'll just need to go their dedicate desk for free home delivery. Just a little waste of time.
-
Maybe they didn't anticipate that after their alcohol ban, people will change their habits:
- stock booze online,
- drink at home, stop & go drink in barsSame for international flights, once they will reopen, it will take a lot of time to bring back tourists: they have to plan their hollydays, book flight & hotel at least 2 or 3 months before their departure etc...

Since the delay is so long for appointments I would go now
Thank you @topt for all your updated infomations, I'll go and take an appointment next week ????
-
Does that really mean that we wont be able to order online booze delivery at Big C Extra for instance ?
To preserve some kids, instead of drinking peacefully at home, they prefer that we go drive drunk in bars or to pick up more booze in one 7-eleven ?

Today I can see some visa agencies advertising about the DL appointments in Chonburi.
But why, the process looks quite easy. I have to renew my 5 years DL to another 5 years.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I dont understand why we would have to use the services of a VISA agency ?
Can someone confirm the process and those 3 followings points please ? (underlined below)
1 - A residence certificate has to be done at immigration, valid for 1 month. Even if the appointment is in 2 or 3 months, the residence certificate will still be valid ?
2 - Go and take an appointment at the land department:
Do we need to come at 8AM and do the queue with thai people, or can we come later ? 11AM or 2 PM ? (no queue)
There is a "police amnesty" about expired DL.
My DL expires in october.
Do I need to come and do an appointment before or after my DL expires, or it doesn't matter before or after ?

I cant' stop thinking that the pic of the epidemia occured in january/february.
The virus was/is still there in Thailand, but as we can see today in every countries in the world, once the pic of the epidemia/deaths has been reached then the virus kills only a few people.- 1

After all that's a pretty good news that the virus was still spreading in the country.
Untill now, EVERY countries that have reached their peak of the epidemia have still some cases but close to zero deaths. End of the story for Thailand ????

Thailand should think about all the foreigners ready to relocate to Thailand and for long term.
A 9 months Visa is not enough:
- 3 weeks in jail for only 8 free months ?
- people wont settle in Thailand and purchase a property for only 9 months. Thailand has to reward them with a new kind of visa 1 year + 1 year extension
The world has gone crazy and has changed for a very long time, it's time to Thailand to think about:
- new kind of visas,
- they have to ease the 1 year extensions of 50 years old and married visas that live in Thailand for dozen of years. Those people who stay in Thailand during the covid-19 have to be better accepted in the thai society.

Conclusion: I will get my Certificate of Residence (based upon Yellow Book) in Jomtien, and be prepared to wait out the scheduled appointment approx 2 months downline.
Correct me please if I'm wrong:
- The Certificate of Residence is valid for one month. If you appointment is planned in 2 months, do you need to get a new Certificate of Residence ?
- If police check you, as long as you'll show an apointment to DLC,, everything is fine ?
