Like I say, any government that has carried out countrywide immunisation will see unvaccinated countries as high risk.

As professor Raoult said, only 1-2% of infected people can recatch another new variant of the virus.
With a countrywide herd immunisation, if a new variant is imported then the R0 will be extremly low... something as R0 = 0,1 ? It will infect only a few people and disappear quickly.

For those countries, the benefit of reopen the borders will be much higher than the risks: in Thailand, more than 20 millions jobless people VS 80 deaths per year ?
Tourists will also have much less risk of catching a new variant in Thailand than stay at home in their own country.

PS; those 1-2% figures and the so low cases of covid-19 in Thailand (and China etc...)... I'm pretty sure thai people were allready immunized against that covid-19. That virus is coming from animals... There must be a common animal that is living in China, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam ? The covid is not a new virus.

Governments are concerned with new variants. Any country with a population that hasn't been vaccinated will be classed as high risk. The problem isn't how full the hospitals are now.

3 days ago the professor Raoult confirmed that only 1-2% of infected people in the past may catch a new variant of the virus.

Herd immunisation is the key, vaccines are not magical wands: when Pfizer and Moderna will publish the efficiency of their ARN vaccines against the new variants ?

  3. Only the Moderna vaccin is effective against UK & South African variants, I just hope this vaccin will be available soon in Thailand. Even if my thai wife can have a free vaccin, I will pay a Moderna vaccin for her.

I dont understand why WHO dont give the right to every countries in the world to start and produce their own production NOW ? (and for free!)

    Sure there was!

IT went from 70 percent efficacy to 50.4 percent, LOL.

    Sounds like typical china junk.

If in Brazil they do PCR tests:
    - PCR tests are not working 100%

    - PCR tests with 40 cycles may give you positive, because you are immunated but your body has not yet eliminated the virus 100%

Why wont you believe the chineses ?

China offically says that their vaccin is a classical vaccin, it works 70% but ... in reallity works 100% because nobody is hospitalized !

Today they are the best in the world about immunilogy... why China has produced the 1st vaccin in the world that is a "classical" vaccin, and not choose to use an "arm vaccin" that has not been fully tested ?

I changed my 3 years ago...no extra requirements, just keep in mind, Jomtien will renew and change your extension to retirement from date of application and not from when your marriage extension ends...

If I understand well, if my extension ends 28th ferbruary 2021, and if I do my extentions 5th february 2021 => my new extension will end 5th february 2022 (not 28th ferbruary 2022) ?

Photocopy of Drivers License (front and back) as proof of address
Photocopy of Bank Book (page with name/account number and page with latest balance update)
Bank letter (I used the "money in bank" method).

Only Drivers Licence and not bring a photocopy of your TM30 ? (that looks so easy ???? )

About the balance for all the past year:

1 - Your method: only photocopy your updated Bank Book. But if you wait for more that 3 months, they will update your book with only 2 lines: total debit / total credit

For sure if for instance, balance 1 year - total debit for 1 year > 800k then you are good. Do they compute that way ?

2 - Method "The Pattaya City Expats Club" (thank you @soisanuk https://pcec.club/CHECKLISTS-Extensions-of-Stay

    2.jpg.752099e6075c17549be43d694373f976.jpg

Does it means that if you dont update your bank book every 3 months then you have to ask your bank to print a statment for 1 year ?

  6. For the 1st time I will extend my non-o mariage for a 50yo extension in Jomtien (it looks much easier when you dont have a kid with your wife).

I did some research on the forum, someone can confirm the "special requirements" for Jomtien:

1 - Draw manually a map of your location

2 - Print some photos of your house/condo. For a house what kind of photos do they want ?

And about health nothing special ? No health certificate done in a clinic, no covid test, no health insurance for non-o ?

However, Thailand’s Department of Medical Sciences director-general Dr Supakit Sirilak maintained that a vaccinated group was able to prevent 78 per cent of infections and 100 per cent of severe symptoms.

Do they know if vaccinated people have 0% of risk to contaminate non-vaccinated people ?

And that vaccine does also work at 78% with the new variants of the virus ?

But being vaccinated doesn't mean you are not capable of infecting people......or that is how I understand it.

In my original post, my idea was to vaccinated all the population in Phuket and control the movements of people leaving the province.

("control" vaccinated locals because they could still export the virus to other provinces... so other idea was to only allow those locals to go to areas where locals would be also vaccinated... ZERO risks wont be possible untill 2022, but something has to done before, so many thai people are starving now ???? )

How is that any different from now except you don’t need a vaccine? The whole point was to remove quarantine.

Because vaccinated tourists could do a kind of soft quarantine, they wont be isolated 2 weeks in their hotel.

Tourists could walk around their hotel: go to the beach, restaurants, bars... for one week, and then they would be allowed to live Phuket.

  10. They should open Phuket first and only open international flights to Phuket:

    - vaccine all the population in Phuket

    - allow only tourists with Pfizer or Moderna vaccins (because efficiency > 95% and also works with the new variant virus)

    - do PCR tests to the tourists on arrival + after 10 or 14 days (because 5% of vaccined tourists may have the covid)

    - tourists wont be allowed to move further than 2-3 km from their hotels

    - after 10 or 14 days, tourists wlll be allowed to move only in tourists areas where the population has been vaccined (Pattaya, Kho Samui etc...)

It's time to reopen everything, vaccines are coming but everything can't be solved in only one day.
