But to avoid any hick-ups it is recommended to enquire beforehand at your local Imm Office to have them confirm that in your mother's case it is not needed (and do ask for the officer in charge when the Imm Officer does require it, as the desk officer may not be aware of the normal waiving practice in such cases).

    Success!

Yes I'll go next week ask them how to sort it out, thank you ????

I think many people will have exactly the same problem as my mum: many people with retirement visa came back to their countries and were not able to come back to Thailand for months because of the covid. Now they have to restart from zero the visa process with a sleeping 800k deposit account and a bank transfer from oversea done decades ago ! Or maybe @ubonjoehas another answer ? Showing the old visa on your passport + bank book of your deposit account is not the proof that you allready showed that you did an international bank transfer years ago ?

  2. @Peter Denis

Thank you and you are right, that may depend of the office.

I did my Visa more than 10 years ago and for 10 years they never asked me the "Evidence of foreign currency fund transferred to Thailand" at Jomtien Immigration.

For 1 year extension I'm sure that this document is not required.

But someone who did a new Visa this year at Jomtien could confirm that this document is not required ?

    (maybe guru @ubonjoehas the answer ? ???? )

  3. After a stay of 10 months in Europe (because of Covid), my mum finally came back to Thailand.

She came with a TR Visa and she has to redo all the process to come back to a retirement Visa.

I will prepare all the papers for her.

The first thing to do at Jomtien is a new 3 month 50yo retirement visa non-o.

Here is the list of the required documents: https://bangkokimmigration.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/08-edit_NON-O.pdf

That's the first time I read something about the "Evidence of foreign currency fund transferred to Thailand":

My mum has a fixed deposit account with more than 800k that she opened 8 years ago.

I know I need a letter from her bank: does that letter (in thai) tells that the funds came from abroad or does she need another paper ?

    Thank you.

  4. Dont forget that wearing mask outside is NOT mandatory in the kingdom, that's just an order from Chiang Mai's province.

Imagine that you're a foreigner that:

    - don't speak thai, don't watch thai TV

    - don't meet friends because bars are closed etc..

    - don't have internet to read the last rules of your province, translated in your own langage ... and imagine you're born in Moldavia ! ????

  5. @onthedarkside

I just answer a last time to "follow the topic", this little chalenge is fun after all ????

If the OP do not reformat all for a new clean install and find a trick, I'm just curious to see if the issue was not about privilege (= my "diversion" because I'm a kind of troll or spamer or whatever).

    Privilege => Windows UAC & Windows Defender => ... solution ?

    Original post from the OP:

    Quote

I have administrators rights and whatever selection I make is fine until I click OK when it reverts back to Disabled and refuses to change to anything else.

PS: @conndaI read the solutions of your link, nothing about privilege, if one of your solution works, I will of course apologize ????

    Do an easy test:

    - login as admin

    - find a folder "read only"

    - unflag "read only" and recheck if it's unflaged (even if previously you didn't have any message): if it's still "read only", then you too you have priviledge issues. In 2019 that would have never happened.

PS: It's like the OP that set a service to run automaticaly, no message and windows doesn't save its new setting.

You still haven't explained why he would need to Desactivate Windows Defender in the first place.

Because I and my friends we had MANY issues in 2020-21 with the last Windows 10 & Windows Defender updates. Especially about priviledges. And if the OP can not run one service, guess what...

  8. If that's a priviledge issue caused by his antivirus and windows 10 priviledges (= windows defender), then the OP should try to:

    1 - Uninstall his 3rd party anti-virus & reboot

2 - Desactivate Windows Defender and tell the OP how to do it because that was possible years ago but not today !

  9. That's exactly what will do my mum when she will come back to Thailand this month: she has a TR Visa and she will apply for a new non-o retirement visa once in Thailand.

    @ubonjoeCan you confirm that:

    - She can apply for her new non-o retirement visa in Jomtien ? (she wont need to go to Bangkok ?)

    - She has to apply for a new visa at least 15 days before the end of her TR visa ?
