There is organised motorbike racing near us almost every night. The police attend maybe 1 in 3 calls to inform them and complain, recently we were told to stop phoning and live with it.
At the point of sounding heartless, until attitudes of the authorities and the usually unhelmeted participants changes the carnage will continue, another night in Thailand.

Question 4 - Should I drive when I am tired or drunk ?
Answer - In Thailand this does not matter.

He has stipulated that all street racing will be strictly forbidden.
So it's OK to do it during the other 51 weeks then

Nice finger pointing, but don't cars normally have 4 wheels ?

Yes sir that is definitely yaba in your boot, would you like to come with me ?

I heard that in some countries they use things called tachographs ( not sure of the spelling ).
Apparently these are inexpensive pieces of kit designed to stop drivers of commercial vehicles from
being <deleted>driving too fast or too long. It would be shame if they were introduced here, the number of daily news stories like this would plummet. -
Does any journalist ( and I use the term loosely ) at the Nation ever read what they write ?
32.5m tourists over 365 days is 89,000 / day. 16,389 over the 3 busiest days of the year on 65 charter flights
Someone should be slashing their wrists, not popping champagne corks.

Why not issue a warrant right now to arrest the temple’s former abbot Phra Dhammachayo, why after new year? Someone should do a film about this farce.
No one would sit through a film of that length.

Having checked Hotels.com website, 18 hotels do not have rooms for the whole period 15th - 22nd December, while 36 do. Of the 36 some have discounts of over 40%.
If Koh Lipe is the jewel in the crown of Thailand's tourist industry it does not bode well for the others.
There I go being subversive again !

This soap opera is going to run longer than Coronation Street. Nobody involved in this fiasco can come away with a shread of credibility.

So the plan is to turn FIT into ROUTED. Ripped Off Until They Exit Dejectedly.

Can the Chanthaburi boys in blue be given time off to come to Jomtien and teach their ineffective colleagues here how to stop a bike ? I would gladly pay their travel costs.

The police chief said that the criminal case against Dhammachayo has dragged on for a long time and he wanted the case to settle once and for all. However, he noted that the case had to be handled with great caution so that it would not impact on Buddhism in general.
That will come as a great relief to Dhammachayo, he can see out the rest of this life unmolested in the temple. Business as usual !!

Don't you have to pay tax first before you can get a rebate ? How many Thais will this apply to ?

"Watch and learn, when we get to Dhammachayo, anyone in our way gets this".

This is even
more worryingbetter news since the first week of October is Chinese Autumn festival and Thailand should be have been mobbed with Chinese. -
Sad that innocent bystanders get caught up in this sort of thing but not at all surprised.
Have phoned the police many times to report these gangs for racing and intimidating road users during evenings, not late at night. Invariably the response is that the police cannot do anything, even though many of the bikers have no number plates. Instead of charging them for this, they are ignored as "taking things further would be pointless".
Welcome to law abiding Thailand, stay indoors.

Prayut should stick to what he has control over, things like leading exercise sessions. Things like enforcing law and order seem to be beyond him
-
Thailand should be a leading member of NATO - no action talk only.
How many plans do they need. Arrive at the temple in force, read him his rights, cuff him and drive away. Anyone trying to stop this gets nicked as well. End of.

Elections and referenda are dangerous things, Prawit has reason to be cautious. The way the world has been recently the wrong party might win. That is why they have warned us that the votes will take months to count, so the result will be "correct".

Reading the whole story, each tourist will spend AVERAGE THB 80,400.
In ATTA's dreams.

Wonderful idea to showcase Thailand as THE place to come for golf. I am sure that all the invited attendees will have a wonderful time.
They can then return home with photos to show the less fortunate of a golfing paradise that is a private club and beyond the reach of any tourist wanting to play there.
There re so many excellent courses open to the public as visitors, why not use one of these. Elitism rules !

Once again Thailand is aiming to be #1 in the world. This time it is setting a world record for the length of time to count votes. Laughable.

Looking forward to the time saved in getting to the real bottleneck at Thepprasit.

I trust this was a totally sarcastic comment ?
Good way for NST Pure Spring Water to differentiate itself from others by giving it a local flavour. Consumers can then spend hours discussing flavour of what.
Perrier started the trend years ago by adding toluene at no extra charge.
