The OP is short on details. If you're applying for $5 million of life insurance for someone making 300 baht a day... Of course that's an exaggeration, but the gist is there. I'd also be open to the possibility that there are other factors that the nice lady wouldn't want to reveal to the foreign boyfriend. But that's my mind wandering, and I'm not inclined to speculate.

harris campaign, clean up on aisle Electoral College
impulse replied to riclag's topic in Political Soapbox
The EC itself isn't the problem. It's the states (most of them) that have decided it's "winner take all". The EC was the only way through when it took weeks for the votes to come in from across the country. Now... Not so necessary. But even if they change the rules (as long as the rules are fair), it'll change the way the campaigns are conducted, but probably not the results. Admittedly, it will appear more fair. -
Harris Voices Outrage in Interview with Howard Stern

I’ll use up some more bandwidth. I have huge respect for rank and file members of the military. I have zero love for our fidiot leaders who treat illegals better than our own kids in uniform. The ones that are pushing DEI instead of competence. The ones that are sending our kids on fools’ errands without the resources they need. The ones who tolerate horrible living conditions across military bases. The ones that abandon them when they get back, damaged by what we asked them to do for us. Resulting in recruitment shortfalls, inhumane military housing, no support for struggling vets, and on… and on… -
Pattaya Police Raid Poker Gambling Ring, Arrest 9 Foreign Players

So they were using chips to keep score and there wasn't a significant amount of money found? I wonder if they found the money in their wallets, or set aside to pay the dealer, the food server and the Grab delivery guy? Sounds like the only crime was having too many decks of cards. Book 'em DanO. -
There are a lot of people who would gladly forego social security in favor of a self-directed investment. Remember that SS takes 15% of your pay for your entire career (with limits if you make a bundle). Disciplined investors could do a lot better in the market if they invested that 15% themselves. The key word there being "disciplined". He won't take SS away from anyone who has contributed. That's a different bucket from income taxes.

Here, I'll correlate it for you. In 1960, here's the list of childhood vaccinations: Diptheria Pertussis Tetanus Polio Smallpox https://vaxopedia.org/2019/03/26/how-many-vaccines-did-kids-get-in-the-1960s/ In 2020, here's the list of childhood vaccinations: Diptheria Pertussis Tetanus Polio Smallpox Hepatitus B Rotavirus Haemophilus Influenza Type B Pneumomococcal Conjugate Influenza Measles, Mumps, Rubella Vericella Hepatitis A https://www.mayoclinicproceedings.org/article/S0025-6196(20)30601-7/fulltext During the same time period, autism rates have increased from less than 1 in 150 to 1 in 36. https://www.cdc.gov/autism/data-research/index.html Until they do figure out what's causing the increase in autism, how can they rule out vaccinations? They can't. I'm not claiming it's the vaccinations. I don't know. I suspect it may be dietary, or some other environmental or industrial chemical causing it. The science is far from settled, until they do find the culprit. Ruling out vaccinations reminds me of my experience when I went to the ER the day after my 2nd Pfizer and the doctor told me they didn't know what caused my symptoms, but it wasn't the Pfizer. Over 2 years later, the ER staff (another visit) finally told me that my symptoms were a commonly reported side effect. Of the Pfizer. So I can understand why people don't trust them.

Then they edited her response so she wouldn't look as bad. A courtesy they wouldn't have extended to the Bad Orange Man. -
Harris Voices Outrage in Interview with Howard Stern

You mean the same "top of their game" people who got us into Vietnam and Iraq, got us out of Afghanistan so catastrophically, keep claiming the border is secure, have us $35 trillion in debt, focus more on equity than saving lives, and on... and on...? Those disgruntled ex-employees? Good riddance. They're the reason those DMV employees can keep their jobs, while being incompetent, unproductive, and rude. -

The problem with that is most voters are fed up with gub'ment employees. I can walk into any county office or DMV and point to a goodly percentage that are just stealing oxygen, on the taxpayer dime. Not to mention, rude. So when I hear about embittered ex-employees, I suspect they're bitter because they were actually required to do something, or find the door. Of course, there are great gub'ment employees, too. And they're just as fed-up with carrying the weight for the dead wood. -
Which guy is that? There are hundreds of doctors correlating the increase in autism with the increase in the number of childhood vaccines over the past 50 years. It may just be a temporal, and not a causal correlation, but there is a correlation. Autism rate is increasing. The number of childhood vaccines is increasing. Whether they're related is the question. If one guy lost his license, so what? You still haven't provided a source.

Yes, rich people vote for getting richer. What you're seeing there is a concentration of wealth, with the little guys being forced to move away. Harris/Biden has been great for zillionaires. The normal people can't afford to live there any more, so the population is decreasing while the GDP is going up. Is that a good thing?

New Law Allows Buyers to Inspect Online Orders Before Payment
impulse replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
New Law Allows Buyers to Inspect Online Orders Before Payment Furthermore, logistics companies must promptly collect returned goods from customers within five days without imposing a collection fee. They are tasked with reviewing complaints and thoroughly examining returned items to ascertain their validity. I'm confused by the title. If I get to inspect before paying, why wouldn't I just decline the order and have the driver take it with him on the spot? Seems like a contradiction... -
Most voters support Trumps Mass Deportation of Illegals, Pew Survey

Eric Adams of NYC said the quiet part out loud when he requested $12 Billion federal dollars to help NYC care for the 110,000 "newcomers" in his city, for 3 years. That's $36K a head per year. While I am open to the possibility that he was padding the numbers a little bit, if you multiply $36K times 10 million illegals, you're talking real money. That's $360 billion a year. With the USA already in debt to the tune of $35 Trillion, we simply can't afford it. Some of us suspect that's why he's being punished with accusations of corruption. He was a party hero right up until he exposed the true cost of the Harris/Biden migrant crisis. And it's not like the "corruption" he's accused of is unusual in politics. Personally, I'd like to see them start with the convicted criminals, then move onto the parasites, then (and only then) deport the ones that aren't contributing more than they're costing. But that's not my job to decide. -
Meaning? Idiot speak. Maybe. Or maybe he's alluding to Harris's choice of venues to do an interview with a channel that usually focuses on <deleted> coaching... I don't know who on her staff made that decision. But Trump needs to send her a gift basket. I'll let you do your own Googling. Hint: You won't find it on CNN or MSDNC. But it's all over the right wing sources. Edit: I see a word was censored. But the initials are the same as Brian Johnson.

I don't know of anyone that's against immigration. Properly vetted, knowing who you're letting in, and making sure they won't be going on the dole for life. But that's yesterday's immigration policy. Most of us are against opening the border and letting Venezuela (and before that, Castro) empty their prisons so they can enjoy a nice decrease in violent crime in the home country. Not to mention thousands from Iran, (et al) and other adversarial regimes that may not have the USA's best interest at heart. -
No more slack: Thailand tightens the noose on illegal workers
impulse replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
But they're driving tourism $$$ to Thailand and not taking work away from Thai people. Quite the reverse, in fact. I think Thailand is actually encouraging them. Regardless of the disdain we old farts may have for them. The OP specifically mentions selling online, in pretty much the same breath as foreigners working illegally in jobs reserved for Thai nationals. I just don't recall "selling online" being on the list of jobs reserved for Thai nationals.
