  1. So the guy's a pig. But how did she go from the carpark to inside his condo? And why did she get back in his car and not flag down a taxi? There's something missing from the story.
  2. Wine is duty free, cars 30-50%. It's more insidious than that. Here's a basic primer for how it's calculated: (Source: Asia Business Assembly) So a 700K baht car (CIF) will cost over 2 million baht when it lands in Thailand. Then the dealer needs to add a markup... Depending on variables like engine size, etc. that number does vary, and there are some special rates for EV's from "up North". https://asiabusinessassembly.com/en/imported-cars-in-thailand/ So a $100K Corvette would land at a cost of about $300K.
  3. I hope they brought him a fresh pair of undies. I'd have code brown'ed, stuck in a cab with leaking gas cylinders all around. Drunk or sober.
  4. I think you'd be surprised how many Thai people would buy Corvettes, Mustangs, Chargers and F250's if they weren't tariffed to death.
  5. But you can get a permit to hunt and trap them in Florida. (In season, of course- Aug15-Nov8 in 2025). And they're delicious. Edit: I should mention that the number of permits is limited, and issued by lottery.
  6. Says who? (I mean, besides random internet whackjobs.) Anyone who can read numbers and know what they mean: Almost a $trillion annual trade deficit isn't sustainable.
  7. Liz isn't a lefty. She's a Neocon war monger with the syndrome. She's a chip off the old block. I paid attention, and I was never a Trump fan. Often referred to him as a "despicable human being". His first term changed my mind and Obama and then Biden were so bad... Then DEI Harris became the Great Dem Hope. Talk about an "own goal".
  8. The far left in the DNC keep misreading their constituents, who are telling them to give up ICE violence, MS13 and dudes in chick sports. They're calling for even more violence and insanity, thinking they're losing because they haven't been crazy enough.
  9. You mean, rules have to be applied for others but not for you? I'll live with the same rules. And as a bonus, I won't need to pay for an extra storage shed to keep all my imported crap that I upgrade from. I'll just have to get by with the 65 incher.
  10. It hurts me to even look at them. She's got nice eyes. Must have been a looker before "that".
  11. Lots of countries have become dependent on decades of US largess. It's going to take awhile to convince them the gravy train is over. And many are going to scream like a baby that's been denied their ice cream cone. You think this is sustainable? A lot of Americans need to be shaken awake, too. It's gonna suck, but the addiction to cheap stuff from overseas needs to be broken. Best done by a guy in his second of 2 terms... I'm as guilty as anybody, buying a 65" big screen because they've become affordable, when my 50" was perfectly adequate. Keeping in mind I grew up when a 20" screen was considered a luxury.
  12. 2% of the tourists and 90% of the tips.
  13. You can now buy a right-hand drive Chevrolet Corvette Stingray courtesy of a company called Lumen Automotive, and it costs less than £95,000. Right-hand drive Corvette available to buy in the UK All-out American muscle car costs less than £95,000 6.2-litre V8 engine with 475hp Head-turning exterior design Quicker to 60mph than a BMW M4 Competition https://www.carwow.co.uk/news/8146/right-hand-drive-chevrolet-corvette-stingray-on-sale-now Edit: £95,000. That's why the UK will get reasonable tariff terms. Thailand, not so much... A new 'Vette in Thailand is probably $400K if you can find one.
  14. Adults in the room would rather they be done right, than to be done fast. You can't fix decades of bad trade policy in 6 months.
  15. Some of us still hold out hope that there are good people left in gub'ment that have preserved some of the JFK, MLK, RFK, Epstein (et al) evidence.
  16. Only if Thailand knuckles under... Like if we could buy a new Corvette in Bangkok for list plus shipping. Not list plus shipping plus 200%.
  17. After you destroy something, it doesn't exist. That's kinda the objective...
  18. I used to kayak the shoreline from Pinnacle Resort early mornings before the wind and surf picked up. Having "seen some things", I'd never swim that water. There were some stretches near outlets where the stench from runoff made it unpleasant. BTW, I loved the Pinnacle Resort (shameless plug, I know). Lots of great swimming pools and a wide assortment of rooms, villas, etc for almost every budget. And they used to have a great breakfast buffet. I assume they still do, but haven't stayed there since Covid. (Edit: I'd add that when they started getting a lot of Chinese guests, they added a separate buffet in a different building catering to their tastes, which I thought was a great idea, even living in China like I do. They do eat weird stuff for breakfast) I mentioned the resort name to narrow down the stretch of beach I'm referring to. "Jomtien" is a big area.
  19. Sadly, I'm in agreement with this guy: However, former CIA officer John Kiriakou appeared on Fox News on Monday evening and told Jesse Watters that the Epstein files were likely destroyed before Kash Patel and Bongino got to the FBI. “I’m not blaming the FBI director Kash Patel or the Deputy Director Dan Bongino,” John Kirakou said. “I think that that layer beneath them, that’s part of what we like to call the Deep State, has taken this bull by the horns, and they’ve probably destroyed information,” he said. I've always thought it was a 50:50 shot that the public will ever know the truth about JFK, RFK, MLK, Epstein, et.al. You can't find data and evidence that was long ago destroyed or altered, no matter who's currently in those positions.
  20. So the guy retired just 2 months ago, the Dems and activist judges are blocking every new Trump appointment and somehow it's Trump's fault? In spite of extra staff on duty for the storm...
  21. Especially if it takes extra time each time I give them my phone number (with the inherent language issues), all to save a few satang on a future purchase or qualify get some free junk I wasn't even looking for. I will admit that I was popular around the office when it was time to dispose of the "free stuff stamps" they used to give out. My co-workers loved them. But I didn't have to be a member to get them.
  22. So your source is a fleeting Fox screen on a random YouTube. Right. That's definitive. In Bizzaro World. The St Louis Fed says different. You can listen to the pundits' spin. I like to go to the root numbers.
  23. Bigger GDP on 1/4 of the population. I'll bet a lot of Mexicans wish Trump would annex them. They'd be much safer and better off financially.
  24. Defending MS13 members and dudes in chick sports are certainly strange hills to choose to die on. Add in the "mostly peaceful" ICE protests and socialist mayoral candidates... Even Carville is rolling over in his grave and pulling his hair out, and he's not even dead. But he knows the DNC is. Their only hope is that the new 3rd party siphons off enough conservative voters that the promise of free stuff from OPM rules the day. Again.
  25. I'm not against slowing down and being careful. I am against banging people up if pedestrians do what pedestrians here often do, which is suddenly change direction and cross the street without looking. You can't be going slow enough to avoid some of them. Not to mention, you claim the ...driver is guilty of neglect manslaughter without even seeing any evidence. You'd feel different if an idiot pedestrian jumped in front of your car or your wife's car, or your kid's car.
