  1. I wouldn't dismiss the possibility that millions and millions of Americans that don't have TDS are right. And millions of foreigners see through the lawfare travesty. Maybe they're on the right side of history. Trumps foibles have played out in public, on TV and in the news for decades. And each time they lay another bogus charge onto Trump, his numbers go up. Voters seeing through the nefarious treatment. Yet another indicator...
  2. Glad you enjoyed it. If you get a chance, try the breakfast taco (actually a burrito). Starts with scrambled egg wrapped in a soft tortilla. Then you can add bacon, sausage, potato or chorizo. Adding cheese makes everything better... My ethnic friends swear by the chorizo, but I looked that up once and I stick with the sausage when I'm on a meat kick or potato when I'm not. I swore off bacon after my bypass surgery. They come with picante sauce on the side, and I opt for the wimpy mild sauce. A braver person would choose the spicy. Worth a try for breakfast... On a more Thailand based topic, can you get a breakfast burrito in Bangkok? The closest I found was the chicken Caesar wrap at Starbucks and Amazon. But no egg... Back in South Texas there were roach coaches that did a booming business selling nothing but breakfast burritos from the parking lot. They'd pre-wrap dozens (hundreds?) of them in the wee hours and sell out by 10:00 am. I'd bet there's a market niche in BKK.
  3. I love Whataburger. It may be an acquired taste because they use mustard, which is kinda rare in fast food burgers. That may put some folks off, but not me. Of course, they'll make it to order. My recommendation: Double meat Whataburger with cheese. Standard toppings (lettuce, pickle, mustard and onion). Their fries are also great and their ketchup has a hint of cinnamon or something exotic. For breakfast, get a breakfast taco, sausage or bacon. With cheese. I also love them because they serve brewed ice tea instead of the instant crap out of the machine. Downside is they're sometimes a little slow (I like to think it's because they don't pre-make the burgers.) Let me know how you liked it. Edit: And I'd add that it's hit or miss, but some of their counter staff are a hoot. Catch them on a good day and they'll make you feel like you're part of a family busting each others' balls. In a good way.
  4. I love pulpy orange juice. Always have. I just used plain psyllium husk to make mine extra pulpy. With all the fresh squeezed fruit drinks you can buy on any street in Thailand, there's no need to get used to anything. Unless you don't like pulpy fruit drinks. In that case, get the psyllium husk powder and make it a fruit juice frappe. Not a scientific study, but my cholesterol went down when I started drinking psyllium husk. Not enough, but a definite improvement.
  5. I have to admit it's been many years since I tried Libre Office, for the reason I'll discuss. So I hope the compatibility has gotten better... I found them both to be very adequate for composing a spreadsheet and great graphs. My issue was when I tried to open a spreadsheet made in one, with the other. The formatting never seemed to be right on. It always took too long to rejigger the formatting, especially on graphs. And since the majority of graphs I'd download or receive were done in Excel, it was just easier to stick with Excel. If I were just doing spreadsheets, analysis and graphing from zero, and for my own account, I'd save the $$$ and go with Libre office. But that wasn't the real world for me. Maybe someone who's done it more recently can give us an update. Because my Office 365 subscription is due for a renewal. I think 3,000 baht a year. I consider it a great value, but I'm a cheapskate at heart. Maybe the compatibility is improved?
  6. Not the Taiwan earthquake, but here's a Green candidate blaming climate change for the earthquake near New Jersey, where she's running for senate... “I experienced my first earthquake in NJ. We never get earthquakes. The climate crisis is real,” Khalil wrote in a post shared on X, formerly Twitter. https://dailycaller.com/2024/04/05/new-jersey-green-party-senate-candidate-earthquake-blame-climate-change/ Greta probably gave her a like from jail... Kindred spirits.
  7. You may want to look at Judge Cannon's possible jury instructions (that are the topic of this thread), which include this second option: A president has sole authority under the PRA to categorize records as personal or presidential during his/her presidency. Neither a court nor a jury is permitted to make or review such a categorization decision. Although there is no formal means in the PRA by which a president is to make that categorization, an outgoing president’s decision to exclude what he/she considers to be personal records from presidential records transmitted to the National Archives and Records Administration constitutes a president’s categorization of those records as personal under the PRA. She may be over-ruled on appeal. But I'm pretty sure she knows the subject matter better than any of the wannabe legal experts spouting off here. The source I got that from isn't an approved link. But Google (or Bing) that entire paragraph and you'll see it all over the MSM. Most of which is blocked here in China, so I can't provide an "acceptable link". WaPo, MSNBC and several others come up on page 1 of a Bing search. Then quit arguing with the guys agreeing with her here on AN, and argue the topic with her. Let us know how you do.
  8. Did the Fed have to deal with all the free tax money causing inflation under the Trump giveaways? Oh wait. Those were Biden giveaways. Trillions of tax dollars for pie in the sky programs that have so far led to just a few crappy jobs and (at last count) less than 10 electric charging stations for $$ billions, subsidies for those who can afford EV's at all, $$ billions to feed, house and buy drugs for "newcomers"... Nice try, indeed.
  9. I don't claim to know. Here's a thought. I linked to all the data you need, to brain that one out yourself. Why don't you let us know what you calculate? https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/CE16OV Edit: Just eyeballing the slopes, if you compare Biden's job growth after mid 2022 (when you say he surpassed pre-Covid), his growth numbers look pretty anemic compared to the Trump numbers before Covid struck. But be a peach and calculate the numbers for us...
  10. You need to get a new calculator. Pre-pandemic, employment was 158.7 million. When Biden was inaugurated, it was 149.8M. Today, it's 161.5M. 8.9M Covid jobs came back (158.7 - 149.8), out of the 11.7M jobs that Biden claims to have added (161.5 - 149.8). Meaning Biden only added 2.8M new jobs (161.5 - 158.7). The vast majority of them (76%) are just Covid jobs coming back. And that was my claim. To make it worse, that's all jobs, part and full time. It's worse for full time jobs. And devastating for American born workers, who have gained no jobs since Mid 2022. Not to mention, he's added somewhere in the neighborhood of 10 million "newcomer" workers. But only 2.8M new jobs. Yet, they claim unemployment is down? That must be the new math. All jobs: https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/CE16OV For full time jobs: https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/LNS12500000 Native Born workers: https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/LNU02073413
  11. Is that headline from the same folks that brought us "the border is secure", "safe and effective" and "most secure election in history"? And the same knobs that claimed a measles epidemic (10 cases) was ravaging Florida? Color me unconvinced that more than one or 2% of the burglars are tourists. In fact, let me make the claim that it's a tiny, tiny percentage (with the same evidence as the OP- bupkis) and see how long before someone calls me out for not providing proof. Because that's only required from the right. Lefties can lie like rugs and just call doubters racists or anti-immigrant to shut down any discussion.
  12. If she's a legal adult, not spending tax money and not selling surgery to the kiddos, more power to her. Not to my taste, but I doubt she cares.
  13. I've been skeptical of IDF explanations since the USS Liberty incident (that's a long time), but I can't imagine it's a good idea to conduct aid deliveries after dark in a war zone. Has anyone seen an explanation why they were out after dark?
  14. And the majority of Biden's "new jobs" have been people coming back to work from Covid shutdowns, and part timers picking up more work because they can't make it on one job under Bidenomics.
  15. Just another hit piece on DeSantis, who's likely to be a 2028 contender. Anything they can do to damage Ron or Florida is fair game. Like that hit peace they did a few weeks ago on his Surgeon General for the measles epidemic of 10 cases that "swamped" Florida. They're pretty quiet, though, about the 57 measles cases (and counting) in the migrant centers of Chicago. Doesn't fit their narrative. Blue mayor and Biden's border disaster. https://www.chicago.gov/city/en/depts/cdph/supp_info/infectious/get-the-facts--measles.html
  16. I was picturing a different kind of pumping.
  17. Even if he had, it wouldn't fit his risk profile. He'd rather have a decent return on a sure thing than bet on a huge return with a high risk.
  18. I don't know about the Russkies, but we paid several times what the Thai companies paid in the same field for the equivalent positions. More than worth it to be able to recruit and retain the best Thai talent.
  19. Whatever you do, don't look directly at the cuties with the nice legs in the local shops. Or you're doomed to overpay. +1 more on Zenni.
  20. HE was white. That's 2 strikes nowadays.
  21. 3 questions (okay, 4): 1) How many of those are full time jobs and how many are part time? 2) How many of those are gub'ment jobs? 3) How many are they going to adjust downward, like they did pretty much every month in 2023? And finally: How many of those jobs went to American citizens and how many to foreign citizens?
  22. Gosh. I missed that data in the CNN report. And the LA Times report. And the MSN report. And the NewsNation report. And the Daily Beast report. And... None of them indicate what percentage are illegals and what percentage are legal. But I didn't miss the fact that a dozen MSM outlets on the same day did a report blaming legal tourists, quoting "prosecutors", but no numbers. Almost as if there's a coordinated effort to shift the blame away from the Biden Border invasion. Carrying water for the Dems.
  23. Looking backwards, had Musk not bought Twitter, Truth Social would have been the #1 outlet for free speech. And worth a mint. Looking forward, if the Dems' dirty tricks take a toll on Musk and X, it still may end up be the #1 going forward. And worth a mint.
  24. Good luck finding new voters that can be counted on to vote Biden. It's a crapshoot now. https://aseannow.com/topic/1323947-democrats-spar-over-registration-as-worries-over-young-and-minority-voters-grow/ Peruse the right wing rags for juicier details... Not approved sources, but pretty amusing.
