Scotus hands America’s communities a big win on TPA
impulse replied to riclag's topic in Political Soapbox
Stephen Miller nailed it in response to a CNN hack: MILLER: When you say, ‘Do we believe that district court judges rubber stamp each action?’ There is a premise that is built into that that is absurd. The President is the sole head of the executive branch. He’s the only officer in the entire government that’s elected by the entire American people. Democracy cannot function…In fact, democracy does not exist at all if each action the president takes has to be approved by individually approved by 700 district court judges? That’s democracy? So if there’s 15 communist crazy judges on the court, that each of them as a team working together, can block and freeze each and every executive action. Joe Biden was allowed to by this same court system to import 20 million illegal foreigners into this country. -
It's great to have a leader, eh? Pelosi and HRC tried to keep the Dems in line, but they keep leaving. Here's hoping they run AOC in 2028!

I found it occasionally at random pharmacies, but they were usually sold out the next time I looked. Last time was at the Foodland on Soi 16 in Bangkok. But they only had it once. Still, that was a good day. Otherwise, it's the 80 or 100mg baby aspirin for blood thinner at ridiculous prices. Available all over. I'm wondering if anyone has ordered any (successfully) from overseas. Like Amazon or... or...

Tourism Phuket Leads Southern Thailand's Tourism Surge with Record Revenue

It'll be interesting to see how it changes when Ukes and Russkies are no longer hiding from conscription. -
Strangely, I don't see many Repubs going Blue. Why do you think that is???

Report Expat Confusion Grows as Thailand Cracks Down on Helmet Law Violations

Don't let those kids get near Biden... -
I'm becoming convinced that a lot of European (and American) politicians won't be satisfied until they get NATO into a shooting war with Russia. They're still reliving the '50s.

Report Expat Confusion Grows as Thailand Cracks Down on Helmet Law Violations
impulse replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
What if you have 90% chance of getting nits and cooties vs 1 in a million chance of getting a splattered brain? Then, what do you do with the helmet when you're not on the scooter taxi? Do you carry it around all day? I wore one when I was scooter taxiing between home and office because I had a place to put it on both ends. But not going point A to point B where I had no place to store a decent (spelled e-x-p-e-n-s-i-v-e) helmet. And the plastic crap on offer are less than useless. -
Russia's got better hackers than the Brits. This could be an own goal for the UK.

The only ones getting false hope are the broke ones. If they have money, the lonely (and the ugly) can have a harem around them if they want. I still remember Donnie from when I first moved to Asia (not Thailand). Poor guy was uglier than a kick in the nuts. But he paraded around the expat bars for over a year with a hooker on each arm. Then, the Joint Venture fell apart and he got sent home. I think the saddest day of his life was when he found out that the US Embassy wouldn't give visas to hookers.

Report Thaksin Rallies Behind Yingluck in Rice Case Drama
impulse replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Is there any evidence that any of that money came back to her personally, or is it just a case of bad policy? If it's just bad policy, how is it that they're going after her personal assets and her freedom? -
You mean other than the doctors and nurses telling me that my symptoms are a commonly reported side effect? But only on my 2nd trip to the ER a couple of years later... On my first trip, they said that they didn't know what caused my symptoms, but it definitely wasn't the vaccine I had the day before. Here's a better question. What motive do I have for lying about it?

Let's dissect that Grok statement. First, they claimed that there was no evidence that it left the injection site. Then data rolled in. Next, they claimed that it was in the blood, but it was transitory and wouldn't get into organs. Then data rolled in. Then they claimed that it is in the organs even years later, but it won't cause problems. Now, data is rolling in. Had someone posted up a couple of years ago that it would still be in organs (and tumors) years later, it would have been deleted as heresy. Now, that's widely accepted, but maybe there's no evidence that it caused the cancer. Until more data rolls in. How far do they have to move the goalposts before people snap to the fact that they just don't know?

Democrats Reckon With Deeper Crisis Beyond Fundraising Woes
impulse replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Did they not end up in debt after too? The Party did. (End up in debt) But if you look at the big discrepancy between Blue and Red spending, it was how much they grifted to their respective staffs. Lots of Dem staffers got filthy rich. No so many Repub staffers, though. I'm sure the Dem staffers are looking forward to getting even richer in 2026 and 2028. It really eases the sting of the big honking L. -
Report Phuket Villa Development Halted Amid Local Outcry Over Mudslides
impulse replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
Surely someone in the Thai gub'ment has access to a GIS map showing what land is off limits to development and access to Google Earth or some other commercial satellite data to show what development is encroaching? As I recall, a lot of Phuket is off limits because it's too steep to develop safely. -
But he's not doing that. He's posting updates as the data comes out. Feel free to disagree or even debunk the data if you have actual information. But some of us are interested. So don't advocate squelching the data.

Are high end smartphones worth the money (to you)?
impulse replied to impulse's topic in Mobile Devices and Apps
I'm well over 18 months on my cheapo A05s and I still get the full day out of it. I rarely get below 75% left at the end of a day. Even on travel days when I'm flying and using it relentlessly, it lasts the whole day with lots to spare. Of course, YMMV. -

Money wasn't their problem. The money was their grift.
