  1. Put the Baht where it should be among other currencies, it will make Thailand 25% cheaper straight away. Ah, but then the rich would have to pay more for their offshore assets they buy to avoid tax.
  2. Well spotted Sir, two mistakes. One hundred percent. It is actually nice to have a bit of banter without someone throwing their toys out of the pram. Take care Sir.
  3. Little typo on my part, was not supposed to be a capital letter, however, as we are being pedantic today Brought has only one "o".......
  4. I did some investigating, and as the article states His main problem was not operating as a guide, but rather not having a licensed Thai National guide with Him.
  5. Who in their right mind would think that spending a day as depicted in the file photo, herded like sheep, crowded beach, no chance to enjoy the nature, as a pleasant experience.
  6. Mine was due 27th. First online with new visa filled in on Monday 21st. Had notification email inside two hours, had new 90 day Wednesday morning 23rd. Best of luck to Andy. Coud He not phone the office and check?
  7. Same here, my sim is in Wife's name, but have had it for well over 12 years. The crazy thing is that about two months ago my phone was playing up, saying no sim inserted. Took it to AIS who said I need new sim as it was outdated.....He knew it was my phone, but it is still in the Wife's name....
  8. Gormless morons do not realise that in doing so, all that happens is the oil is bought overseas, and transported to uk. which utimately increases prices.
  9. The ceo of Nestle, who has just taken over the chairmanship of the WEF as well. Should be a warning of things to come.
  10. I stopped buying them. Many times there was a strong chlorine taste, maybe not flushing out after cleaning, and then several times picked a bottle up, and it was leaking around the cap. In my mind if water can get out, germs can get in. Fitted a filter system instead, maybe a little more expensive, but what price peace of mind. As for JB300 situation, it may be worth taking a look at the storage tanks on the roof of the condo, and talk with maintenance on their routines, if any?
  11. Thai hospital, money talks, even in the government ones.
  12. The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) The Centre for Road Safety Administration Ministry of Interior and Chairman of the Special Subcommittee on Road Safety Lots of departments, all full of talking heads, spouting condescending platitudes to a populus that is neither capable, or willing, to accept change. Sadly the death toll here is a daily occurence that will only get worse as the number of drivers increases. We all know (and I am including the indeginous population), what the main problem is, and it will take more than a generation to rectify it.
  13. Yes, a userfruct is a good option to have upon the demise of a partner, but many people do not know that in the event of a divorce a court can terminate it as part of the division of the marital assets.
  14. So, ban alcohol, but support local businesses................
  15. Yes, thank you. He got the massive sentence of one year 15 days in prison.
  16. My Son regularly travels from University in Bangkok to Hua Hin. He does not use that road any more, He takes a slightly longer northern route (I think). He says it is about 25 minutes longer, but a lot safer.
  17. Forgive me if I am mistaken, but was there not an outcry several months ago when a prominent doctor was killed on a crossing. They were howling from the roof of Government house saying we will make all crossings clearer, safer, and improve education of drivers..........quick as a flash........bugger all is done......until the next fatality.......and the next.......ad infinitum.
  18. So true. Slightly off topic, but I have just purchased two new smoke detectors for the house, 520 Baht the pair, 10 year lifespan. The old ones were past their 10 year cycle. When they were delivered the Wife asked why change them, we never used the old ones.......they just sat there on the wall doing nothing.........I went out for a walk, figured it was the safest option. However, it is the lack of safety awareness that still confounds me after 30 years.
  19. Brilliant, gave me a good laugh. Wanted to give you 4 laughing smileys, but can only add one so......
  20. I thank you for looking out for my best interests, keep it up......
  21. ...If by that sentence you mean do I think for myself, have the ability to analyse different situations, and scenarios, go with my own thinking, and not be part of the flock mentality, then I thank you very much.
  22. Thank you for that Redwood, the sheeple will always comply.....another booster shot.....oh, yes please....
