I am sure the old man I helped today who was shuffling along with two broomsticks for crutches, carrying three rice sacks of bottles and cans will be over the moon for them. -

I would hazard a guess there is a very long queue to do just that.... -
Good Morning, I know this was covered before, but it was 13 years ago, and info changes. I wish to sell a bunch of SIP shares I hold in a U.K. company I worked for. I have the physical certificates. They are registered with Equniti who say they cannot do anything because I am not resident in U.K. I have no family left, and no-one with whom I can use a U.K. address. The Company say they cannot help, contact Equiniti......going in circles. I am trying to dissolve my portfolio in order to simplify things for my Wife & Son. Can anyone recommend a broker or trading Company they have used that is trustworthy, and will not rip me of. As you can imagine, I am wary of anyone in the land of scams getting hold of my assets.....so to speak. Any info that can be offered would be gratefully received.

Report Thailand Tightens Alcohol Sales: New Rules Take Effect
AhFarangJa replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
In our nearest town Prasart, there is a sort of warehouse store called "The One" they are a kind of Makro in that they sell bulk packets of things, but also like a normal store selling single items. I use a lot of the boxed wine in cooking, (you also have to have a glass or two while cooking.....it is the law...). Anyway, we go in to get things for the Wife's shop, always around 8.30 to 9 a.m. I buy 2 x 5 litre boxes and there is no problem. Try to buy one.....wait until 11 am. -

Of course that is correct. My point is,(maybe you missed it the first time), that at say 9.45 in the morning I am shopping for a dinner party. I cannot buy a bottle or two of wine, but I can buy 10 litres of it. -

In all our shops here, Tesco, The One, Makro, Big C. However, I always remember arriving on December 5th. in years gone by. Being the old King's birthday the bars were closed, a no alcohol day. Yet I could go to the tops supermarket below McDonalds on Sukhumvit and buy whatever I wanted. -

I to am confused, as this is the dictionary definition........ A service establishment is a business that primarily provides services to the public, rather than selling tangible goods. These services can range from personal care and grooming (like a salon or barber shop) to maintenance and repair (like laundry or appliance repair), or even professional services like legal or financial advice. Essentially, it's a place where people go to receive assistance, benefit from skilled labor, or have tasks performed for them. Have tasks performed for them..........happy ending massages.......maybe..... -

What really makes me laugh is that at 8:30 in the morning I cannot buy a bottle of wine, but if I want to buy 2 x five litre cartons.......no plomlem. I cannot buy one bottle of beer, but I can buy 2 cases. I defy any sane adut to find the logic behind that. -
There is an unseen, but established hierarchy on Thai roads. In order of importance are....... Hi-so Drivers in expensive cars are at the top, next comes your average car owner along with delivery trucks / pick ups, then come the motorbikes, along with their various additions, after that there are the pushbikes, and finally, you, the pedestrian, at the bottom of the pecking order. Lorries and buses can be placed anywhere in the group depending how rich the owners are. In the countryside Buffalo and Cows are at the top.

I went to a doctor with a wax build up problem, he said they are reluctant to syringe nowadays because of the risk of damage. Just given drops, which worked. Now you can see clear through from one side to the other. Maybe try sleeping on the affected side, it may drain out.

Report Thailand Tightens Rules for Foreign Drivers: Tests Now Mandatory
AhFarangJa replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
My take on this, right, or wrong, who knows, is that they want to introduce more stringent tests, but do not want to be seen to have dual standards, so foreigners will have to comply too, regardless of qualifications. A bit like the introduction of tax on income, they want to grab money from Thai expats abroad, so include foreigners so they are not seen to be just picking on Thais.
