What part of the word "retired" does the Thai government not understand? We have settled here to live.
Yes i agree, but in Thailand's thinking its only for 1 year at a time ????
Just treat Thailand with the contempt it deserves, works for me. Having said all that i'm married to a Thai national but use a retirement extension because its easier to obtain at Immigration than a marriage extension.

Yep i could'nt quite believe it, the only real action and they missed it. I'm afraid my thoughts on Truevisions are diminishing by the day, if it was'nt for the EPL and the rock music channel 708 i think i would ditch it and look for alternatives.

I'll welcome the day that all food delivery m/c's disappear off the roads in Thailand, they're nothing more than dangerous idiots imo.

In reality that means supplying an address where they may contact you, so essentially as soon as you're back and got a bed for the night you'll get treatment.

Keep quite, that way you get the yearly increase. Do not tell anyone! Many expats do this.
Yes i agree entirely, i have friends who choose not to inform the DWP of there "living in Thailand" and thats fine by me but in my case the pittance of a state pension increase is not vital to my finances hence my notification to the DWP somewhat late which attracted the letter from Pauline Irwin Pensions officer.
The money's peanuts and i don't break ANY rules for peanuts, now if it was big money ? lol

Hard to prove a non-event.
How about you direct us to a news item where a Pensioner in Thailand has been fined/penalised for not reporting his address and accepting a reduced pension?
Answer, you can't because it's never happened.
Have you missed my posts ? I know its difficult for KNOW ALLS to accept they're wrong but sometimes you just have to take it on the chin, now buck or ????

The letter is a fake,in as much it could never be produced in the framework of DWP guidelines. A person with "issues"could be helped at local unofficial level to placate that same individual
But still an absolute bombshell to the frozen pensioners who for years have been under the impression that punishments, draconian ones were there to check the unfrozen, when there were none ,no stoppage of pension,no payback The updated DWP website indeed spells it out in clarity Thousand upon thousands of pounds needlessly wasted
Few brickbats along the way lol , who cares? but who is laughing now lol
Here we go again, the letter is far from fake but real. Why don't you just admit you're WRONG or provide evidence to support your argument ? All we're seeing is your incoherent rambling which just makes you look stupid and not worth the time of day.
Unless you can supply some evidence to support your argument i will not be replying to your ramblings in the future, i have more important things to do.
You might not like being proved WRONG and STUPID but you make your bed now go and lie in it.
Pauline Irwin is eagerly awaiting you to contact her, she's real too lmao

It can be an average over a year but some offices will not accept a average income.
For the average it would be best if they are a little below or above 40k baht. They would frown on 20k baht one month and 60k baht in another month for example.
Yes indeed, a mate of mine suffered that fate. He deposited 520K over the year but one month his transfer dipped just below the 40K and the IO said he did'nt comply with the rules but of course the IO provided the solution lol
Now he's got to renew his extension in September this year and i've suggested to him to go to immigration armed with the police order in Thai and English detailing the marriage extension rules.
As he's very elderly and just paid the money requested for the solution last year i've offered to help him out this year with his application, trouble is i can't find the police order in Thai and English, do you have copies of the PO ?
If you could help i would be most appreciative.

Here ya go, i'm getting a tad tired of you accusing me of being a liar and fabricator of false information, i expect an apology by return and for our esteemed moderators to take action against "KNOW ALL NO 1"
You are WRONG, here's all the evidence you need, please feel free to contact Pauline Irwin Pensions officer.
NB - I trust it was ok with you for me to erase my personal info, you never quite know who you're dealing with on forums, ya get all sorts ehh lmao

I used HomePro for the purchase/installation of 5 aircon units and a fitted kitchen/appliances in my house. The job could'nt have been done better and the cost was very reasonable. They used a Bangkok kitchen supplier namely Starmark and a local guy for the aircon units and i still use the local guy for all my jobbing requirements, he's turned out to be a very competent guy in every respect.

It also happened to a friend of a friend of mine, he'd been here for years and years when they finally caught up with him living in the boondocks of Isaan, i don't know the exact details but he owed them a considerable sum of money which he had to repay monthly by way of a reduction in his pension.
Just for the avoidance of doubt guys they don't ask your permission to reduce your pension to repay overpayments and a fine/punishment they just inform you of what they are going to do and state they have the right to take such action.

The above advances nothing.
The question is not about fair minded person or breaking DWP rules.
The rules are laid down in Statuary law.
The only question arises if the overpament was as a result of DWP error. Failing to disclose material facts which affect benefit entitlement is not DWP error.
I can confirm that the overpayment was not as a result of DWP error but my error in not informing them i was not resident in the UK at the time of drawing my pension but Thailand and i believe the correspondence i received which was copied into the previous thread fully explains their position in claiming back the overpayments and imposing a fine/punishment.
Do i really have to re-copy their correspondence to me for all the know alls ?

Erm no it wasn't not in the fashion supposed to be ,not that you would know absolutely anything anyway. There was more to the substance of that letter ,anyway keep on,blind leading the absolute blind
To a pm enquiry (not me) the guy did not know what he was about, the DM did not know either, yes pin it by all means but a statement accompanying it also. Plus it was a volunteered admission. how err bad can things get?
Here you are guys, make up your own mind but please don't listen to the "know alls", they actually know ????

Thailand is world famous for its abuse/exploitation of wild animals in the name of money. I long ago refused to go to any of their tourists attractions featuring any wild animals once i witnessed what was going on at their animal shows, Nong Nooch elephant show/Sri Racha tiger show to mention two appalling examples.

Yes i would also like to know. The BP this morning stated that inter provincial travel was at the discretion of individual provincial governors without giving any details for each province.

In 20 years I have never heard of this situation and there are others who must have been through it. Think the Decision Makers decision was flawed. Need to read the DWP guidelines as to what is appropriate, and this supposedly letter if I received it would be challenged
Up to the individual, stated other thread smallest pension in the west, made smaller by own admission, tell them they act, don't tell...up to you
edit..if read DWP guidelines ,they can take up to 3 years of any payments they want adjusted, (not State Pension) This letter is a hoax,or a botch up by DWP
On 5/28/2020 at 9:32 AM, izod10 said:I have read, and re-read,the letter is a hoax. The wording for one is highly suspicious, "Dosh" used by the poster, and other wording, there is only one other poster who uses that expression,he has been on more than a few ignore lists too. Firstly he knew two who had been "done" then it was up to three, latterly down to one,not appeared since the "letter"
Thread old and new been in existence for eight years or so and hey ho! an "official letter appears yeah right Nothing but nothing in DWP guidelines even remotely come close to this result. I could put this letter in editor and re-jig it too, look up rules/regulations/penalties Jealousy....My other pension leaves the OAP trailing, but better for me
You can believe whatever you like, the facts as i present them are the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, so help me god lol The fact that you might post lies and <deleted> does'nt give you the right to accuse me of the same, now run along now.....
