Health Six Dead as Covid Cases Surge in Thailand
Peterphuket replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Yes, keep insisting that those masks offer protection, but it has been proven that those virus particles are not being, I repeat NOT being stopped by those simple masks worn by the Thais. Maybe soot particles, but that's about it. -

You are not the only one, Thai airways left me and my son standing on a return flight back from Hong Kong to Bangkok, of course the Thai was allowed to go back. And to this day I haven't got my money back. How do you mean racist. (x) Sarcasm off. -
Health Six Dead as Covid Cases Surge in Thailand

Unbelievable anyway, they start scaring again regarding a virus that has caused a fraction more deaths worldwide than a commonly known flu virus. They must be hitting the Thai with this, when I see that they are still walking around with large amounts of masks. And then some farangs who can't put it in perspective either. -

Tourism Thailand Vows to End Dual Pricing Amid Growing Tourist Backlash

Here another one, for long time already. -
It is not just in the UK but in more european countries, take the Netherlands for example they are planning to raise the retirement age to 70, it is not so long ago that it was already raised from 65 to 68. And to think there are countries in the EU where you can retire at 63. The biggest cause is that it is becoming unaffordable and don't forget that all those imports are costing tons of money with the result that the autentic resident will pay the price and everything will be cut.

That is quite normal in this country, for example, if it is a 3-lane road the Thai will make it a 4-lane road if it suits him. -

Report IKEA Goes Cashless at Key Thai Stores Amid Mixed Reactions
Peterphuket replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
And yet we may realise every company exists by the grace or the customer but once they earn enough they think they, the company, may call the shots. You see it all around you, whether your name is Apple or Shell or whoever. I mentioned this before, regarding Shell in the Netherlands, before the euro we had the guilder, 1 guilder was 100 cents, similarly we had the nickel, 1 nickel was 5 cents. At some point the penny was abolished and what did Shell do when you went to fill up, they put 2 cents on the pump, without you having filled up. -

Report IKEA Goes Cashless at Key Thai Stores Amid Mixed Reactions
Peterphuket replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I admit, it becomes searching and have bought stuff there regularly but since that higher price experience, I don't come there anymore. Recently I was surprised again, needed a new mattress and knew from about 2 years ago that they had a latex mattress for the price of 20000 Thb, now that same mattress has doubled in price and costs 40000 THB. -

Report IKEA Goes Cashless at Key Thai Stores Amid Mixed Reactions
Peterphuket replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Regarding driving up prices, that is correct, from the beginning when Ikea started in Thailand the prices were reasonable and in line with Thailand's pricing policy. After 2 or 3 years when they were assured of sales and revenue, prices went up by 20% on average for no reason. Due to the fact that their head office is in the Netherlands, I complained about this, but arrogantly I was referred back to Thailand. -

It's a matter of taste, used an expresso machine here for years but stopped using it because I can't get good coffee here, there used to be expresso from DE but after covid no longer available, and do you know what I drink now? Instant coffee from Nestlé.
