What a surprise??
While you mates are contemplating my latest move, I am ensconced in a Sukhumvit Apt and aiming for Family Mart.
So lets hit Club Climax & watch me monopolize this scene...

Songhua, you rascal...

Yes, a euphimism....
Your thoughts / opinions / feedback?

Decent piece but inaccurate (except for the part about emails).
You can walk right up at Starbucks and say, "Small coffee," and no one would blink. Also, I have never heard anyone say tunafish and certainly not sodapop!
The writer goes to far with this and missed a big point right from the start: many Americans have little to no faith or respect for authority.

If you are in Bangkok, two songs come to mind:
1. Sting and The Police: Every Move You Make.... Bamboo Bar on Soi 3 does a good job...
2. Bruno Mars: I Wanna Be Billionaire...Club Climax has it on lock on Soi 11...
I will be avoiding that scene, thinking of a popular BG from that spot named Da and otherwise leaning toward some late night bar cart tic tac toe at Nana BTS / Soi 6...
And then regressing to Hilary Soi 4 (the pool one on south east end of Soi 4)...
Actually, my fix is at Family Mart...

The music before the film is rather charming...The images...interesting, I suppose.
So what would happen?

That surprises me. I am on this regularly and surely would have noticed (or so I think!).

How do the 7-11 employees tolerate those bells that ring when you enter and exit?
DEE-DOO! DEE-DOO!
I was at a 7-11 on Soi 4 buying beer at about eleven at night and there must have been thirty customers (drunks, derelicts, tourists, hookers, bar girls, Thais, johns, and Arabs) and the bell must have rung 600 times in five minutes.
How do the employees handle that obnoxious DEE-DOO! DEE-DOO! DEE-DOO!?!?
I had to decline the smiling female cashier's offer of a free bag of chips if I purchased whatever-silly-promotional-deal-thingy they were trying to push on me. And when I left, the bell rang DEE-DOO. DEE-DOO.

Soi 7 and Sukhumvit... Across the street from Subway and north of a corner Indian tailor is a clean, cool billiard hall.

Yes, great point!
Or chasing ladies marathon, fastest tuk tuk in rush hour through Sukhumvit, or best street performer (at any or all levels
) on Walking Street?

Certainly not me. Weren't they just on, like, two years ago?
I hope "they" lose. All of them. Home country especially.
Okay! Thanks...

Expo is the best brand.
Purple, red, blue, and green work best.
Do not buy black: when you erase the board, it is covered in dark gray smudges.
They seem to last quite a while, to boot...

Scarface, 1983.
No explanation necessary.

I start with two large bottles of Chang Classic at about eight at night. I usually will go till five the next morning, chugging Chang but also having an occasional whiskey on the rocks for an added punch.
This most often takes place on Sois 3, 4, 7, and 11, though I do a fair amount of drinking in public to save money in the general Sukhumvit areas. Not counting the hard alcohol I will drink at the bar carts while playing Connect Four with a lady in the early two or three a.m. hours.
Also Khao San, but a fun past time there is double fisting two large Changs with the company of a female while riding on a tuk tuk heading back to Bamboo Bar on Soi 3 to drink whatever I can get my hands on.
And sometimes make it home and drink my cold, refrigerated Chang I have on stock till the sun is up.
To hell with ice cubes.

Do I?
Nope.

So, one gent says Kevalee and Ramkamhaeng Intl. Schools are low tiered, while another says mid tiered...
Can anyone else weigh in on this?

Family Mart on Soi 4 sells our stuff 24/7...
No reason to get nervous or upset on this thread.
But do cover yourself and have a couple of whiskeys on the rocks at Hilary Bar. And dont bother me. The English speaking Filipina who lives at On Nut is calling my name.
Do your homework, gents! Pass the bottle...

A believer, here.
Raised a Catholic so you can be an animal as much as you like. Just don't forget to confess.
I have forgotten to confess for the past fifteen years...

Well, the answers, mates?

And regarding those monthly rates, is that before or after taxes?
Meaning that if a teacher is making 60,000 baht per month at a mid-tier school, is that the money he walks away with or do they TAX that 60,000 baht figure? AND IF THEY DO TAX THE 60,000 baht, HOW MUCH would he get?

The whole point of this post is to live and let live.
I am no preacher, but my ambition of drinking a tall Chang brew and giving small change to child beggars, Walking Street performers, dirty cops, and others should be nothing to get excited about.
Unless of course you adopt a holier than thou attitude...
If you live in a glass house, careful if you decife to throw a stone. Especially on Soi BJ.
