'Legal' having no bearing anyway, considering the junta simply do what they want.
Well of course not, but there's only so much I could say under the circumstances. Remember the whole Head of State death and legal requirement for a replacement fiasco...totally ignored by the power that is.
Luckily, we've got people like zzaa09 that know the truth and can guide us to the light ?

Even the officialdom circles have mentioned, months ago, that this royal protocol takes precedent before any such national elections can take place.
We've heard that the coronation will be engaged in January or February......????? ?
Someone correct me if I'm incorrect, please.
There's no legal requirement for the coronation to happen first. It's just a Prayuth excuse.

dictate that an election date must be formally announced between 90 days and 240 days from now.
Only yesterday we were reading that an election MUST take place within 150 days - now it only needs to be "announced" within 240 days. So on day 240 they will announce an election date 150 days later than that.

Which leave 9,229 that have not. No reason to lift the yellow card. But the EU won't give a red card - they're all bark and no bite. A yellow card makes it look like they're serious about tackling the problem, but the truth is they want cheap seafood.
If you think of the EU yellow card being like a Thai crackdown, it makes more sense.

You need to read your own quote, participants on both sides consider it "good humoured banter". They can do this because they are good sports. Never aimed at officials.
You should watch videos of Steve Smith (Ex-Captain) confronting umpires. The man was a disgraceful brat long before he was caught cheating.

Yes. When you apply for the extension you can buy a re-entry permit. You’ll need to return before the report back date.
What about the home-visit. If I'm out of the country will they just skip that part?

Would I be able to be out of the country during the 30 day consideration period for an extension of stay based on marriage?
Eg: Current extension of stay (work) ends 31st October - Apply for extension (marriage) at Chaengwattana 28 September - Leave country 29th September and return 30th October - Get new extension 31st October.

He noted the earliest election date is February 24th, 2019 and the latest would be in May 2019Which is way past 150 days, so his definition of "must" is very different to mine. ?

No they used the argument that Trump’s statements over Twitter were public and necessarily subject to comment because he was communicating via Twitter in his role as President.
Heholds public office, his statements were public, blocking people from seeing and commenting on his public comments was unconstitutional.
Thanks for the "non-exclamatory/shouting" explanation. I was not aware that blocking people stopped them seeing your posts on twitter - I thought it just meant they couldn't comment.

Oooooh...I can answer that: if you are dumb enough to announce, that you are using twitter to announce and explain your policies and you are the President of the United States...how can you exclude American citizens -who's prsident you are- from having access to your wisdom!?
That makes no sense and so you are rightfully prohibited from blocking people off your account!
That is just logic!
Trump's dumbness isn't really a legal argument though. If twitter was the only avenue he was announcing policies then the courts should have also ruled that all citizens must be give a smart device and a personal twitter account - similar logic.

He can speak his mind.
He just can’t do so via the privately owned Twitter platform.
Soapboxes on street corners are still an option if he wishes.
This is not a ‘freedom of speech’ issue.
True. But then I was confused by the recent Trump/blocked users thing: If twitter is a privately owned commercial platform, what right did the courts have to force Trump to unblock followers? Didn't they use the argument that twitter was a defacto PUBLIC space?

There's a great Web site called https://www.google.com which provides pointers to the answers of common-asked questions like this one - you should check it out!
Strangely enough, often when asking Google a Thailand legal or visa question, Thaivisa.com often appears among the top entries - why is that do you think?

Given that his future is will rest on the results of a general election, would it not be more accurate to say that his future is to be decided by the Thai electorate?
Or am I just being silly?
You're just being silly I'm afraid: "The results" will be announced 60 days after the election - and the Junat are in charge of counting the votes. ?

Is that a bus stop the the pink bus is waiting at and the blue bus is maybe trying to go around him?
It is. It's the connection for Phahonyothin Rd. to Ladprao Rd.. The problem is that some bus drivers park off and wait for the bus to be full (sometimes 5min) and so cars and other buses try to go around. In this case it looks like the blue pass was passing but then Pinky decided that it was time to go too.

Tomorrow's headline: "Prayuth invokes Art.44 and women allowed to join police academy again".
He creates a problem behind closed doors then "solves" the problem to garner votes.

One of my posts earlier today said "don't give a flying (the letter f)" Literally, I typed only the letter "F". Later on, my post was changed to "don't give a flying <deleted>". Seriously!? So now the idea of a swear word is not allowed on this forum? ?

They cannot tolerate responsibility or being told when they make mistakes.
And, this is how you end up with a disfunctional country that can never hope to advance beyond where they are.
Yesterday, my wife got out of a taxi in front of my house in our security village. She told him that he needs to make a uturn (cul-de-sac) and walked around the back to us. I was walking up the road behind with my two kids and my mother. Next thing I hear my wife scream - the <deleted> had reversed into her. My wife berated him for not looking. He then opened the door and said these exact words (in Thai):
"I'm sorry BUT I only saw the kids in the mirror". He didn't even ask if she was okay, or ask if her shopping was damaged (He did crush 300 Baht's worth of cake). He just closed the door and then started reversing again. My mother was so confused. She said, "But if he can see the kids in the road, why did he reverse in the first place, and why the hell is he doing it again?" Because most people just don't give a flying <deleted>.

This forum was bombarded with "But Thaksin..." posts for years, now it's "But Trump...". I swear there'd be a thread about how much manure to sprinkle on rosebeds...and you'd bring Trump into it. ?

Can't see why registration is necessary, is it necessary for other types of worker to register their occupation?
Yes, what do you think workers put on their tax returns? Surely someone making 100k should be paying some taxes.

Or, if I get a work permit to do one thing (dive instructor for example) there's nothing stopping me from going anywhere in the country and working for someone else as an English teacher or an electrician or animal breeder (but I still couldn't get a job rolling cigarettes by hand dang it).
I'm pretty sure if you left your primary job for an extended period you would get fired snd have your WP revoked and thus would be working illegally at your other ventures.

BTW, it seems like the courts have ruled 'against' the Junta a bit recently, more than I remember from the early days after the coup. Anyone have any idea why? Coincidence or on purpose? Any thoughts? Any significance?
It's like when the NLA vote 187 - 3 for something - it's to make it appear like a legitimate entity. Everyone now and then the courts will acquit an enemy - especially if that enemy is already guilty of other crimes and not in the country. The want to look impartial.

Difficult to respond to this. Let me just quickly hammer a nail into my head. *tap* *tap* *tap*. Ok, I'm sufficiently dumb enough to respond:
"Some people" - well, even the guy who sold it thought the price was high BECAUSE THEY WERE FAKE! And the officials who used them were probably too scared to tell the higher ups that they didn't work. And the higher ups? Well, the current Minister of Something (who gives a shit anymore) famously came out and stated that the devices did in fact work even though the seller admitted they were fake. ?

Elections will be held on Feb 24, Thai govt maintains
in Thailand News

Did I miss something? When was this date announced. Prayuth always spoken of "no earlier than February" (If we ignore the Nov 2014, 2015, 2016, and Novemeber 2017 periods he talked about), and yesterday we were told "between February 24 and May 15th or whatever".? Now Small P says 24 Feb. Is the date...
