  1. an island it considers part of its territory Just to set the record straight, Taiwan IS part of China. Even the US Dept. of State says so the U.S. recognized the Government of the People’s Republic of China as the sole legal government of China, acknowledging the Chinese position that there is but one China and Taiwan is part of China https://www.state.gov/countries-areas/taiwan/ Those reporters at NYT are nothing but propagandists.
  2. Top Chinese brands like BYD uses mostly LFP batteries which doesn’t contain any cobalt. Not sure though about the pathetic EVs built by companies like GM or your namesake.
  3. Don’t know about other Chinese brands but the ones I have are of amazing build, not that you would know.
  4. Of course there are racist so called hi-so Thais, much as there are for many races. I wasn’t referring to them so much as the less privileged ones who dropped out of school at an early age, either through lack of opportunity/funds or other reasons.
  5. In Chiang Mai, comrade, enjoying the cooling weather. At my age, I can’t stand the bitter European winters any more. Can’t imagine what it must be like for those who can’t afford heating, especially now that gas and oil prices are so much more expensive than before the pipeline got blown up.
  6. Ukraine’s leaders are just getting more and more pathetic by the day. Shame there isn’t a single adult among them.
  7. Just consider yourself lucky that you haven’t had to pay “coffee money” fines as yet but don’t try to argue that this doesn’t happen, especially to those that rides bikes in Bkk.
  8. If it was Russia, which I highly doubt, the Malaysian PM wouldn’t be so pally with Putin now, would he?
  9. Many have not been well educated nor well travelled so I won’t judge them too critically. The same can’t be said for Westerners from “civilised” countries and have travelled halfway across the world to be here.
  10. Excellent post @KhunLA. In my family, we have multiple races, nationalities, cultures and religions. My own children are of mixed race, one has a partner of mixed English/Jamaican parentage. It’s amazing how many foreigners live in Thailand but still hang on to their bigoted prejudices.
  11. One would think so but no, they even summoned the Russian ambassador to complain lol.
  12. Can someone explain how NK forces in Russia poses a threat to South Korea?
  13. What an amazingly ignorant and uneducated statement. Culture is not based on the colour of your skin. Travel a bit more. Learn something.
  14. I must admit, Ukrainian and South Korean is amazing. From a seemingly innocuous photo such as this they were able to conclude… the movement of thousands of North Korean soldiers into Russia, according to Andriy Kovalenko, Ukraine's disinformation center chief, on Sunday, Oct. 20. Even more amazing, from this very cryptic photo they concluded that A special forces unit of 1,500 soldiers has already been deployed in Vladivostok,” Kovalenko added, sharing a satellite image published by South Korea’s Yonhap News agency. Above from https://english.nv.ua/nation/satellite-captures-north-korean-troops-moving-into-russia-for-ukraine-war-50459929.html, an approved and credible source. Amazing. And then I realised, Ukraine's disinformation center. Did anybody realise that Ukraine has a disinformation centre? What is it? From the name, it tends to suggest a centre for spreading disinformation. And I must say that they’ve done a wonderful job.
  15. Yes, after the 200+ billion, this tranche of 3 billion is going to make all the difference, because it’s in pound sterling and not usd
  16. An oil price collapse will be great for the global south, especially China. Not so much for Europe though. But hey, giving Germany’s highest honour to the guy that caused its industrial downfall must surely rank as Germany’s second finest moment.
  17. Neither can Ukraine, sadly.
  18. Love how you guys try to spin things when it doesn’t suit your narrative.
  19. The truth? Does anybody really know? Nation states will say one thing, that which is in their national interest. Government sponsored think tanks will of course repeat the official narrative, true or not. Media will say whatever they feel their audience wants to hear, confirmation bias, as this keeps them as viewers else they will switch to other channels. So this leaves only the alternate media, with analysts like Sachs, Mearsheimer, Lottaz, Mercouris, David etc. However, they get cancelled by various platforms for reasons like being non credible. Who was it that judged them not to be credible when they have appeared before the UN, Congress, have been advisors to governments? Some of these platforms preach freedom of speech lol. So, why did Russia launch a SMO against Ukraine? The most credible reason I have heard to date is to prevent Ukraine from joining NATO. Is it true? Is the real reason instead that Russia wants to occupy Ukraine and then the rest of Europe? Anyone that believes it’s the latter is, shall we just say, in possession of a room temperature IQ.
  20. Wow! If there are millions of them and more to come, then the Ukrainian goose is well and truly cooked. Might as well surrender now instead of sending more of its citizens to the grave.
  21. What is this Russian propaganda that has been debunked? And debunked by whom? Pray tell. Need for NK soldiers? This is what’s being claimed by some in the west. Do you personally know if what’s being claimed the truth? Even the Pentagon and NATO is saying that there isn’t any evidence of this. There are many possible reasons why NK might want to send some of its officers and soldiers to Russia, all entirely valid and proper. And you are now claiming to be psychic, knowing what Putin dreams about, lol. As for having NATO at his doorstep, I guess you are rather naive and never heard of the term buffer zone. I’m still waiting for you to enlighten us on what the truth is. Hint: it’s not wanting to occupy Ukraine.
  22. Somewhere in Russia is somewhere isn’t it? It’s a big country, in case you didn’t know. And you know for a fact where they are going? No, of course you don’t. You just believe the propaganda you read.
  23. Reality is that there is almost always 2 sides to an argument, both of which may be true, depending on your perspective, bias and prejudices. My whole life, I have grown up thinking the west is a beacon of truth and honour and there are many truthful and honourable people, no doubt. But I have also seen with my own eyes the hypocrisy, deception, hubris, propaganda, pure lies and interference of many western nations. I have listened to experts on both sides of the debate and I have arrived at my own conclusions, much like you have. Just because our conclusions differ doesn’t make us one more right than the other.
