  1. Everyone is free to post in any thread. But when you post wrong and false information, don’t be surprised when you get called out and your ignorance shines through. Commenting on a topic you know absolutely nothing about doesn’t raise your reputation or credibility.
  2. If you bought a Chinese made hearing aid, you might be able to hear them lol.
  3. I love public holidays, except for those that falls on a weekend. No off peak rates for those holidays.
  4. I see all ASEAN countries with the exception of that vassal state, PH, having excellent relationships with China and growing investments. There are some territorial disputes among all these countries, with China AND with each other. No one is going to war or preparing to go to war on this.
  5. Well, if the sanctions are working, then the west won’t have anything to worry about, right? Just sit back and let the Ruble be rubble, there won’t be any money to buy washing machines or shovels, there will be a colour revolution, Putin will be overthrown and there will be peace in Europe. Excuse me a minute while I go out to buy a lottery ticket.
  6. Still being investigated, yeah sure. No one knows who blew it up, yes, sure. In the immediate aftermath, the west predictably blamed Russia, with the possible exception of the current Polish FM, Radosław “Thank you America” Sikorski, without realising how ridiculous such a claim actually is. Since then of course, they have quietly walked back this claim to the point that even the UN cannot get consensus to investigate. How strange. Russia, the prime suspect, wants the UN to investigate but the collective west doesn’t. If you don’t smell a rat, did you catch Covid?
  7. Countries around the world have had enough of America’s bullying and are taking concrete actions. In spite of numerous requests by China for America to honour their words and agreements, America insists on meddling in China’s internal affairs and provoking China into taking military action. This is what’s causing the so called tensions.
  8. As I mentioned earlier, in my friend’s case, they were asking for Thb 100k, guaranteed water. I’m not sure if he would have to obtain permission from the amphur or just the land owner. Probably both. We were told that someone paid Thb 180k further up the hillside. This is in Phrao which is quite an elevated area so I guess they were having to dig really deep.
  9. Thanks a million. Very useful information and I have learnt a lot more.
  10. Hmm. You edited your post after I had replied to it so I did not address your other points. The US urged Ukraine to stop but did not directly instruct them to do so, so in that sense, you are correct. What’s the strategic objective behind destroying a piece of civilian structure like the Kerch Bridge? Do you think this will distress the Russian population to the point that they will overthrow Putin? The NS pipelines, which in my opinion is a far more important asset, was sabotaged and blown up. This in my opinion, garnered even more support for Putin as, at least in the case of my ex Russian girlfriend, made her angrier at the west. Blowing up the Kerch Bridge would, imo, increase support for Putin.
  11. Would love to but all my links are from independent and unapproved sources. I find approved sources like western msm only carries one side of the story. Even a judge won’t be able to get to the truth if he only listens to one party.
  12. I’m confused. I wouldn’t have thought that water seepage alone would produce enough water for a bore hole well. I always thought that the well feed pipe has to be actually submerged in water?
  13. To add on to what @Mike Lister said, the pipe needs to be supported. If you send it down a few metres without support, I imagine that it would vibrate violently when the pump is sucking up the water.
  14. Some in the collective west is obsessed with weakening Russia. They will stop at nothing including destroying their own country and economy. Luckily for the likes of Lindsay Graham, not all Ukrainians are dead yet. To the last Ukrainian, nostrovia…
  15. I doubt the Ukrainians have the ability to shut down all of Russia’s oil production. Even if they did, would this be the best use of their limited weaponry? Even if it is, the whole of Ukraine will be razed to the ground long before that can happen.
  16. So you are now saying that even a link from FT is not true? I’m not biased either way. The longer the war goes on, the weaker all countries involved, directly or indirectly, becomes. This will benefit countries like China and India.
  17. Has it changed the course of the conflict in any meaningful way? US urged Ukraine to halt strikes on Russian oil refineries https://www.ft.com/content/98f15b60-bc4d-4d3c-9e57-cbdde122ac0c
  18. It seems you know even less than me about military matters. Blowing up a unit here and there has no strategic impact. Sinking a few ships has none either as this isn’t a naval war. Similarly, bombing oil refineries or destroying the Kerch Bridge does not to help win the war. Fact is that Russia today controls about 18% if Ukraine’s pre-conflict territory. They are advancing, slowly but surely towards Kiev, Odessa. Denial will not help. Get real. Negotiate while still possible. The alternative is no more Ukraine as we know it today.
  19. At a guess, I would say about 15 metres, give or take a couple of metres. Attached is a picture of a recent well dug, about 9 metres deep. I asked the digger if he could go deeper but he said not really, it’s quite hard to breathe down there.
  20. Was it Nancy Pelosi that once said, “what a beautiful sight”… Karma works in strange ways.
  21. Optimistic report, although I haven’t come across any significant Ukrainian success recently. You are not making that up, are you? This is a more balanced and believable report. https://www.nytimes.com/2024/05/03/us/politics/ukraine-weapons-us.html
  22. Someone I know was quoted Thb 100,000 for a 100m deep borehole. Expected output was 2,000 litres per hour, guaranteed. He didn’t go for it though.
  23. I personally don’t know anyone who has paid that but from asking around, this seems to be the going rate. This is the Thai price, not farang price. Like I said, it depends on multiple factors such as required depth, location, terrain etc. Personally I would not pay this kind of money for a bore well. I should also mention that the rough area I’m talking about is in Phrao, a rather hilly/mountainous area with lots of big rocks and boulders, and not the flat plains of Isaan.
