  1. I do - and so do Bangkok families. It's the closes beach resort to Bangkok for a start and it's got tons of stuff to do with the kids. My kids always thought it WAS a family destination - what with all the grandads talking to their Asian granddaughters on those early evening strolls along the beach...
  2. There's a little out-of-the-way shop in Krungthep Krita road - prices start at 100THB for hydroponically grown weed. Here's the location: https://maps.app.goo.gl/iAW5WNNFe2SvdxoTA Worth checking out.
  3. So, has anyone found an accountant that can sort this out? I am transferring a year's worth of expenses to a new bank account and I won't add any money to it after Dec 31. I am hoping to show this is savings that I am living off (which it is) - and avoid the local taxation. What I don't want to do is argue the toss over this with someone in RD. I want an accountant that knows the laws to do it.
  4. Ouch - https://edition.cnn.com/2023/07/27/business/ford-earnings/index.html and according to the article, those losses are going to rise
  5. Just heard that Fifty Cent is coming to Bangkok - he's a pretty big name.
  6. LMAO. To be fair - that's a whole set for a 1 legged man.
  7. Everyone is different. If I were you, I'd try 20mg first, then up it to 40mg and so on. 40 would get most people stoned but you might find you need 60mg. I got some gummies a couple of weeks ago. It was 500mg and 8 gummies. I ate 2 (125mg), which is a good dose for me personally. I'm stoned but functional and can sit in the pub and have a conversation with people. Anyway, I felt nothing after 2 hours - so I presumed they were not measured out right and I took another 2. 5 minutes later, the first 2 kicked in. The result? My legs wouldn't work. I couldn't stand up and spent the night on the kitchen floor with the dog climbing over me every few minutes. The wife must have put some pillows down for me and I had the best nights sleep in ages.
  8. Wow - makes you wonder what enters the head of anyone becoming a dealer - if there's almost no profit in it.
  9. Research is not exactly clear on this - but here's some interesting reading - https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9545209/ In particular "Extensions in closing hours in populous municipalities decrease accidents, whereas the opposite is true for rural municipalities"
  10. Potjaman is very powerful - especially with the po-po. I'd have bowed too!
  11. No - we usually sort it out the week before. The complimentary tickets are already allocated to my mate, so it's just a matter of putting our name against them, then picking them up on the day.
  12. I believe this wont make a difference... - there are multiple Nigerian drug gangs in Bangkok - local BiB are paid to leave them alone in lower Suk Be nice to see them all gone for sure - but this wont do it
  13. I got comped tickets to Ed Sheeran - both his tours here. When I went to pick up the tickets - I got a good look at the seating plan for the complimentary tickets - and I'd say at least 300 were allocated to the BIB. Not sure if that helps things.
  14. My opinion is different. Gay people are simply people with a less common sexual preference. That's quite minor in the grand scheme of things. It doesn't make them "not normal", it just means their sexual preference is outside the mainstream. I wouldn't judge anyone based on their sexual preference as long as it isn't harming anyone. It is such a small part of who we are, it's close to irrelevant. There's quite a number of gay guys/gals in our social circle and I feel there's much more in common than the differences. So to me, they are simply just people. As for pedophiles - and I cannot believe you compared gays to pedophiles - they do considerable harm in acting out their sexual preference, these people are destroying lives, so no - they aren't normal people, they are vile predators. Gays are not.
  15. Thanks - I'm a Big fan of CDC for a night out.
  16. Can I ask which area you live in?
  17. Some cultures - like Spain and Italy, typically take a late dinner - like 9pm and go out later and stay out later. It's not as if they drink for longer that their peers in other countries - they just start later. So I see this as a positive for Thailand attracting tourists that are used to later nights. Nothing wrong with it.
  18. Maybe he wanted to pay his last respects to a buffalo, dying after 15 years of sickness.
  19. lol - what a muppet. He has a pocket full of drugs and then tries to do a runner at a restaurant. I don't think society will be missing out during his time inside.
  20. well - looks like they are doing the gay marriage thing - But it's being "fast tracked" - which is odd. Surely they should be making Thailand a hub for same-sex marriage.
  21. Cool map - I'm out in SaphanSung area
  22. We moved not far from Krungthep Krita golf course about 7 years ago. We have a market that opens every day in Moo Baan Nakkila and another that's every other day just around the corner. That was pretty much in 7 years ago but now - There's more international schools in the area - There's more restaurants in the area - There's an excellent gym 4km away - with Onsen, Sauna, Steam Room, weights, aerobics room, badminton courts, climbing wall, outdoor swimming pool - and it's cheap - There's more villages in the area And there's no traffic to speak of at all - so getting to these places is a breeze. Not sure if this counts as gentrification or not - but life is much better now than when we moved here. Baan Thap Chang airport link is just a 5 min walk away, so getting into town when we need to is easy enough - with or without driving. We tend to only drive into town on Sundays as it's the least painful traffic wise. On top of this we have the Klongs - canals with walking paths. You can do up to 80km on the Klong paths believe it or not - they look like this - We have sidewalks too - so you can actually walk around a bit by the roads. It's not for everyone but I think it's a good balance between having access to Bangkok and having a bit of open space and not being stuck in traffic all the time. The school run takes about 12 mins.
  23. Well, there's no sausage in the dish - but I presume it's the vegetarian option. It's no sausage without meat though!
  24. Well not dead center - but the CBD - Sukhumvit, Sathorn, Silom....
