Ex-Thai Actress Accuses British Husband of Fraud and Infidelity
kingstonkid replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Yes but unless you register it and do all the paperwork, it is not a legal marriage in the eyes of the law. No one checks to make sure you are not married legally. -
Thai Tourism Sector Shaken by US Tariffs and Market Uncertainty
kingstonkid replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
It is not just the motorcycles . Try buying a bottle of good French wine, Rhine wine, or wine from Oz. The markup is huge. As to tourism the only thing that TRUMP may affect is the number of Americans that stay home and really it is not that huge. The number of people coming from European and North American countries is lower. The days of hundreds of huge Farang with wallets, guts, and desire for young lasses on warm beaches during the winter are lowering. Justr like Vegas went from being Sin City to now having a family atmosphere the same can be said for Thailand Yes, we still have the young guys that come for the honey. -

Silly me. I thought that the fact that the people were borrowing and unable to pay was the reason , Now you are going to make it easier and induce banks to lend more money. LOL -

But where would he live, who is going to look after him? If he needs care, then the best place for him is in a home or facility that can do so. He would have better luck getting that here than he would in the UK after taking a flight and landing at Heathrow with little money and no one to look after him.

Pedestrian Crossings in Thailand Demand Enhanced Safety Measures
kingstonkid replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
I also think the lack of officers to enforce this is a huge issue. Imagine if the police actually stopped and laid a huge ticket on people. The other side of it is that you can not legislate stupidity. Walking while reading your phone and not looking is a huge problem here. -

Thai PM Paetongtarn Highlights Advantages of Recent China Visit
kingstonkid replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
So China is going to lend them the money and sign the contracts so tht if Thailand can't pay China can take over. Wonder how many drug lords in Chaina are waiting for the train. Think of places you can hide drugs on a train. -
No one is arguing that he can get to the U.K. that is a given the issue is what is he supposed to do once he gets there. No hospital is going to take him in. The NHS is backlogged his niece does not seem to be in the picture. The only questions are Does he make enough money to qualify for a retirement visa? Is there a facility that will take him
-
The challenge you will have is first the cost. second where are you escorting him to. As @Sheryl said there is o where for him to go right off the plane. You will get there and be stuck there with him unti something gets sorted and really do you think the UK health system is going to move fast. I think it would seem a better idea to see about getting his passport renewed. This can be done quick if you present all the info but rule out returning to the U.K. Find him a home to stay in or find him a lady that will look after him in the condo/apartment he has. Then allyou have to do is once a month check up on him.

Pattaya's Pedestrian Perils: Crumbling Walkways and Traffic Chaos
kingstonkid replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
The main issue is that there are all the vehicles parking it is as if they gave up on the walking route and need to make that corner 1 lane with drop off. get rid of that mini parking lot at the end -
Not sure of that in Pathum Thani. While I was doing my annual, a guy came in to extend, and the captain told him he would need to know where the guy was staying when he came into extend. This whole system is so screwed up I long for the (BIG JOKE) days when we had a guy in charge that was in charge. Things are so messed up right now. For example, when I first moved here, I stayed with my GF, who was renting a house. All immigration wanted was her to fill out the paperwork and send them a copy of her id card by email. After that I took her with me but she was never needed. Then got a new GF and have been staying at the house that I rented and submitted a copy of teh lease agreement for the first year. Then, a few years later, gf bought the house. I never needed anything but took the gf with me in case. This year, they told me I needed tm30, and after supplu\ying that, she told me I just needed a tm 28 next year. Man it keeps us on our toes. I also go to Pats, Samed or stay overnite in BKK never needed to do a tm30 for 90 day report. I will see what happens this time

Airline staff will assist but there must be an identified adult there to collect the person upon landing. If ot then they will just leave him and maynot let him board as he will be an issue at the immigration at Heathrow. Not sure what the Embassy can do but would advise checking with them at least to have it noted. One sily question is it a direct flight to U.K>

Forced to book a hotel on the spot
kingstonkid replied to Saigon's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
If you are coming to Bangkok to get your passport renewed, then obviously, you are going to need accommodations. It seems reasonable tht they would want to now where you are living or going to live. most of us who travel book hotel accommodations in advance. So that should not have been an issue. But then again, most of us understand the game and play it better.
