How do they get away with foreign ownership? Just wondering. In Pats there is usually someone around that will reportyou if you have a farang worker. I amsure Nickey's went throught he same thing. As to 99 baht breakfast it is easy. They may make a baht or 2 but it brings peopleinto the shop and then they buy other meals.

German Man Behind Violent Tirade in Korat Dental Clinics
kingstonkid replied to snoop1130's topic in Isaan News
Other than the jails does Thailand have any facilities forthe mentally challenged. Have to wonder if there is ore to the story seems to me that this guy should have already been dealt with. The other side I think is that he has a familly that may be dependent on him. I wondeer what he does for funds. Let's face it things are hard all over and if sent back to germany he probably would end up onthe streets or in jail there. -

Just wondering why there is a delay in producing this. One of the things that I enjoyed was reading this while having breakfast 7-8 now it is hit and miss (mostly miss) Is there not some way to get this out. This is like a newspaper people get upset whenthey wake up and the delivery boy has not thrownit on our steps.

Thailand Yet to Finalise Policy on Taxing Expats’ Overseas Income

Just look at the Marijuana laws lol -
That's because the Thai Embassy has little to do with the military and can not get the answer for you. A concern that may or may not rear it's head is that you will be dealing with a local Authority when consription is a national thing Again you might get the info you want but remember TIT. Get it in writing. I still think talking to a lawyer, especially if the first hour is free, is not a bad thing and could make life simpler.

I am sort of surprised that the Brits did not make a deal with Singapore adn thai authorities to let 1 or 2 through. Just so they could follow the trail. Although I am sure once these guys see the inside of Smui prison they will realize the error of their ways. The other side of this is that life might have been so bad that prison is a releif. Anyway yes, it's a good thing these people are getting caught here in Singapore. They will have a shorter time in jail for these crimes in Singapore, but then they may have a shorter time on tis earth.

Personally, if you are not living in Thailand no matter how nice your wife is, I would hire a lawyer. SIAM LEGAL is a good place to start, but they are not cheap. I have used them a few times, and they know what they are doing. They will be able to navigate everything for you. The bottom line to all your worries is not conscription but getting documentation that the Thai government waives conscription and does not want your son. Your wife might be challenged with that, but a good lawyer will know who to talk to and what sections of the military and government to deal with. More importantly, they will have the FAMOUS PAPERTRAIL in case there are any issues.

Yeah, it is different. I think a lot of the mall's traffic has slowed. I think the Thaniay owners are trying to figure out how to make changes. Sometimes, I think that if they opened an indoor range, it might be interesting, but considering all the other shops outside the city, there is a definite decline.

British Embassy Faces Rising Consular Case Demands in Thailand
kingstonkid replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
A great deal are Thai. The one asset that they use in some countries is commonwealth spouses. Not sure that happens here. I think the biggest headache is brit stupidity no ins drive mb without helmet. Over indulgence Sorry but most countries cannot help that. Just look at BOB -
Uncertainty Over Thailand's Proposed 400 Baht Minimum Wage Hike
kingstonkid replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Before you start raising wages you need to make sure tht the business community is solid and that mom and pop stores will make it. Small shops can not raise prices and make up for the increase. Lookat California and some other states they raised their min only to have less people working full time. -

British Retirees Escape Thai Jail After Violent Land Dispute
kingstonkid replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
But could they hve owned the building and everything on the land but leased the land on a 30 year lease? If tht was the case then they would not own the right of way and it would have been open for discussion. My question is, why when this started, if they were in the right, did they not get a lawyer involved to sort it out before it came to blows? Surely they had a few Thai friends that they could have gone to. -
British TikTok Star Jailed in Thailand Over Visa and Benefit Fraud
kingstonkid replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Simple solution put her in Gen pop Thai style and no phone or internet access. If she wants to see her son have him brought to the prison. I have a feeling we FINALLY have a story that the Brit Embassy is going to help a Brit get home to England LOL Hopefully, her stupidity isn't hereditary. Come on how hard it is to do a border run or take a Thai course. -
Constitutional Court Urged to Annul Thai Senatorial Elections
kingstonkid replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
So Thaksin is no longer the man in power. That has to really upset him, considering that he and Newin are not friends Consider that Newin is the power behind Anutin so he has control of the government. Not THAKSIN He dound a way to rig the senate so NEWIN has the power there nopt THAKSIN Anything that Little Puppet and the PTP want to pass needs the backing of Anutin and the Senate. The People's p[arty will have so much fun next election. The PTP have done nothing and still have a man who is not allowed in politics running things through his daughter and friends. Then you have BJT that decided to rig the Senate election. We now know that the PPP has been shot, so the People's Party is the only non-corrupt party in this government. -
So many questions? First it doesnot look like it was on university property but a normal roadway. If so, how is the university at fault? Was the driver charged with anything? If that was the motorbikeinthe picture it doesx not look to bad. Were they wearing helmets and were they watching the road? What happened to the 17 year old? BTW I agree that the hospital shoulde ber screwed in this. The issue I think the hospital was looking at was he a refugee. There needs to be fund for hospitals that assists in paying the basic fees so that they do not go under.
