  1. It's not lack of experience. The problem is that to keep the coalition together and get thaksin home with the special deal he had to sell his soul as well as the people of Thailand. Notice nothing concrete about marijuana to keep anutin happy. Nothing about art 112 or the constitution to keep the Senate happy. Nothing about the military to keep the others happy AND nothing about minimum wage or lowering the price of BTS to keep the rich happy.
  2. The challenge is that most Dems do not want Joe to run. They will vote for him if they have to but would prefer that someone other than he or Kamala runs. Actually, i would love to see her run because it would be interesting to see how long she lasts this time before she withdraws. seriously the DNC has a huge problem they have o one that could viably run and give the GOP a fight. Most people look at California as a failure, so that rules out Newsome. NYC is about the same so that is out. There is no way anyone would vote for AOC or her friends Witmer is an unknown So really there is no one. I think that is why there are so many court cases against TRUMP they know they can not beat him straight up so they figure they can do it through the courts.
  3. I would rather see him in the position he is in now longer. He may not be the perfect solution but he is the best thing that they have at the moment
  4. No, this is a real story. He taught at a different school last year and claimed that they were real, and he suffered from that disease. He said he was trans and felt that he should be allowed to wear them. The Teachers union backed him until it got rediciluous and hs neighbors pointed out that when he was not at the school he was going out without them. He got put on suspension and then got a job at this new place. https://torontosun.com/news/local-news/trans-teacher-shows-up-at-new-hamilton-school-without-massive-prosthetic-breasts
  5. The interesting point is going to be when he tries to bring his little sister back. The coalition does have an out, but not sure they will use it and that would be to call him a political prisoner and lump him in with the 112 people in jail. Then go to the king with a pardon for them all. This is one of the things that MFP went on and would cause them to have a hard time screaming about Thaksin.
  6. How many Thais do you see doing construction. How many American kids do you see bussing tables n high end hotels. How many Thais do you see cleaning rooms in hotels. The challenge is and has always been that people want to be paid more than the job is worth. How many young Thais do you know that would clean rooms and change sheets and all for 10k a month? Going to be interesting to see what happens when he minimum wage is raised but some of these stores that are already paying above min don't raise the wages any more than mandated.
  7. Could you imagine the screeching of the bleeding hearts if they did? It would be deafening. Here, people realize if you break the law that, you will do a perp walk with at least your face blurred out.
  8. I agree about loan sharks. Using your analogy. Yes we forgive her drug use we arrest the bad dealer tell her not to do drugs again and set her free with no responsiblity or without any education as to how to live her life without drugs. What is the first or second thing she is gong to do when she hits the streets. Bankruptcy is a way out the challenge is that while in my time if you filed for bakruptsy it was the end of the world and a bad thing a last resort. Today it does not have the sigma too many people all over the world are gond it. No sooner do they file but as soon as they get releif they are back to their old ways. They are getting credit cards with higher interest they are going back to different loan sharks. Also to use a different analogy take a gambler that bets on everything and gets into huge debt trouble. Bankruptcy does not remove the debt, yes his bookie may get arrested but they just sell the book to another person who looks to collect. Loan sharks do not go away someone is always interested in picking up the book. In real world they are called collection agences
  9. Prayut didn't do anything illegal in the system at this point. Then again until the military loses any power, we will never know as he is protected. Thaksin had very few friends and the army and wealthy were definitely out for blood. The jail term does not surprise me and I think he will serve most of it in hospital or plush confines. The question then becomes how does this affect the people and the political landscape. Many military backers saw/see Thaksin as the anit christ so to speak. The fact that the miltary which had stated they would charge him if he ever came back are gong to hurt. The fact that PT made the deal that they did with the senate and the military to bring him home to preferential treatment and may want to show him as the retruning hero is going to hurt them. Can the MFP keep the heat on and keep this fresh in people's minds. Will the other political 112 prisoners get released or is the preferential tratement going to be maintained so that it can be thrown in the face of PT t the next election? The other question is how will the Yellow shirts take this if they are still active? Going to be very interesting. I expect as another article points out that one of his kids will be his mouth piece adn he will stay as the puppet master.
  10. I agree price is rediculous but no one twisted her arm. she knew what it was upfront. People excuse the borrower but no one is forcing them and there are a lot of sharks in the sea.
  11. Willing to bet that it was a shopkeeper down the road the reported him. Unfortunately the police have to act. I agree it is low hanging fruit. Hell in pats a Farang can't clear a table without competition complaining to police
  12. Simple contact one of the top tier hosp andake an appointment. I use bnh but all the others are good. For time restraint would stay away from government hospital
  13. The challenge around the world is that the media does not investigate or follow up. We all see the headlines but do we ever see any follow up Used to be that reporters would get a good story and follow up. Now unless it is Trump the media doesn't care Here it is the sensation headlines but we never hear what happened after. Look at all these so called sexual abuses. We see the headlines but do we know what the outcomes were
  14. A lot of well to do think they can lie or merit the way out for their kids. The one that always comes to mind is the parents in Cali that got their kid off a vehicular homicide charge based on them being bad parents.
  15. I thought trouble walking would be related to too much beer and or too much boom boom
  16. Just St read constitution anyone can apply to be a senator but the actual winners are chosen by a group of knowledgeable people. As to digital wallets or any legislation unless the Senate gets the right people in the selection group they will not agree to anything and the last thing they will agree to is ant amendment tythe constitution. The only resolution for the Thai people under this coalition is to demand a referendum on the changes to the constitution. That or elect MFP with the majority large enough to put it in full power and be able to out vote the Senate. Make no mistake just like some other ASEAN countries this is a military rich rule
  17. Who was it that said greedy people that got huge wealth are the best suckers
  18. I am willing to bet that a lot of money has gone into foreign banks.
  19. While the interest rate is on the high side the lender did nothing wrong. Wiping out her debt only hurts the economy. It is part of the reason so many people have debt issues. Credit is easy. No one is teaching about bad credit or responsibility. Wipe out her debt and she will be online tomorrow borrowing
  20. Nitwits they aren't these are people who have worked hard learning the game and benefitting from the system both legally and shadily. The last thing they want is a system that has served them well to be changed and possibly lose some of the wealth and power. Feudal england went through this Pakistan is going through it. The people with the power want to keep it.
  21. No matter what happens at least maybe they can start to look at removing the eyesore
  22. A flight risk he really isn't he does not have the money to hire a private jet and I am sure immigration has a notice on file.
  23. Before Thailand can become an international hub it needs to resolve Education corruption pollution minimum wage. Stable government These are things that companies need no matter where they locate Employee rules are easy for big companies if the employees are knowledgeable. Corporation want to know that when negotiating they do not have brown envelopes Minimum wage is huge especially for factories and large offices. Why do you think china got so big. Stable government so the rules are not changing ever couple of years.
  24. He needed the tax write off and knows he will not be there long.
  25. Looking at this in 2years is about right and I will bet anyone that they will strongly be pushing this . As part of their platform in the next election. The only question is how do they pay for it and is BTS at ,20 baht comparable to the fact that if a person takes a bus from mor chit to on nut.
