  1. This was already covered in a different thread
  2. Simple, the Thai rich are actually poor. The smart ones get a paycheck from their company but as to cars, houses, trips and everything else it is owned by the company. Same all over the world.
  3. Yes they do but the uncles stayed in military housing
  4. There hasn't been anyone in that residence since before the last coup. It is going to cost of upgrades, maintenance and getting rid of the mould and stuff. It should be interesting although I agree that he should live in the residence as it is set up for all the protection and for entertaining visitors. It will also allow a certain number of laid-off people to get back to work. My question is when will the uncles be moving off base.
  5. No, this is a quasi-military government that is now scrambling to find ways to save themselves and make the people happy no matter what. The Pheu Thai are not in power in this government. They gave that up to all the military parties they had to suck up to. All they need is to upset the BJT or PPRP and they are no longer in power. The protests will start the coup will be planned and Sretha will have to hand over power to the MFP to stay in power. As I have stated before 20 baht BTS will work and be widely accepted at the start. Then people are going to scream when it takes them 2 hours of standing on crowded platforms to get on a BTS train that is overcrowded dirty and behind schedule. Then the cry will be for more trains but the challenge is that trains cost money and if BTS is already losing money on fares and costs do you think they are going to be willing to buy more cars? The farmers are all happy because there is a moratorium on them paying their loans. What happens to the banks and lenders that no longer get their money? What happens when the loans are due and the interest that was accumulated is called. They want to give every kid a tablet. OK you give kids a toy how long does it last before they get broken? Or are you going ot say yes you can have a tablet but just as we keep your school books in class so you will not lose them or damage them we are going to keep your tablet as well? Who pays for a broken tablet? These are all great promises to the masses. It is like old Rome where while people were starving the held the gladiator tournaments to keep them excited.
  6. No, but it will give them an idea of how much fuel they need. Considering that they have been doing the weight thing with baggage for a long time and with people getting larger, I think it was an inevitable thing to happen. Remember, the same angst that motorists face at the pumps is felt by the airlines. My question or wonder is if there is a max weight that a plane can safely hold, and if so, what happens if it is exceeded? Do they tell passengers that we are full or do they start offloading our suitcases to get to the weight? Imagine boarding a flight with the Japanese Sumo team LOL Stewardess: Ladies and Gentlemen and people of the LGTBQ+ We are going to be overweight for flight. The good news is that we will still fly. However, none of your luggage will be accompanying you.
  7. The challenge is that anyone you ask is going to say Lower prices YES will you use it YES tHINK ABOUT THIS SURVEY Survey of expats walking in Suk near suk 10. Do you drink beer? If Thai beer was cheaper than water, would you drink more beer than water? The challenge to a one-ticket system, which I agree is the best, is that the system has to be designed so that a person getting off of the BTS at Saladeang has a means of getting on to the MRT without leaving the terminal. In Toronto, they have one ticket, but the deal is that they get on the bus straight away. The other catch is that they have to be owned by the same company so that there is no hassle of revenue sharing. Imagine a person using the red line, the blue line and the MRT to go somewhere. How do the different companies get their fair share of the ticket revenue? Also, there is no concern for the number of people that will lose their jobs due to the lack of need for buses and vans. The other catch is, can you imagine what the platforms would be like? Mor chit on a Saturday is already packed same as SIAM Can you imagine if they doubled the rider output where would everyone stand, and how long would you have to wait?
  8. My mistake I am sorry yes it is Pathum Thani
  9. The fair for BTS is reasonable when you look at the cost and time it would take to do the same trip by bus. Would it be nice if cheaper Yes but then they have to cut back on trains, staff and maintenance. I would love to see it run later on Friday and Saturday so I can go out and not have to fight for a taxi to get home
  10. 15 years ago I would have said go westeast or any country non African Asian. Now I am not so sure. Looking at the cost associated with putting your child in can/uk/ us/ aus and the current state of public schools I think it is more likely your child would get a better education for the money here at the real private schools.
  11. Agreed. The other problem is that many students already have ipad and that is theain toy in uni
  12. Lol What country has a liveable national pension. Financial education matched retirement plans better banking system. These are things needed. Example gf mortgage has 3 levels of payment. The highest is after she retires and no she can not make extra payments now.
  13. Right across the border to his nice house in Myanmar.
  14. You give them too much credit. They are creating committee but that means nothing. Hell they will spend 2 years arguing about who is in charge and should they have hot or cold drinks
  15. Nah they will wait until just before the next election. I am sure though that MFP are ready.
  16. Corruption here is the same as it was in the 1920 in Chicago. It is the same as all the killings and gun violence in major cities in the u.s. it has been happening so long andis so rampant people have a choice Ignore it Report it an risk reprisal. Why do you think the defamation laws are the way they are.
  17. Op really it is never safe to leave anything unattended. There is a risk no matter where you leave anything. Would you leave your phone on the table. If it is new then it is tempting if it is ???? it goes up in value. If iphone color it gone
  18. Hit and miss at PT. That's the main reason I take my immigration file with everything in it as well as 2 copies of everything.
  19. Steel bare and glass beer bottle better
  20. Why do think the Senate doesn't want them in power

  25. They are done. They sold their souls to the devil for thaksin. Lied to their base and have no control of government. The anutin has more power than sretha. They are on life support and anutin has his hand on the plug.
