Are people better now or back in the 1980s
kingstonkid replied to bignok's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
CNN was just strating and actually had reporters that cared about the news. No internet kids and families played outside Lots of tv shoes to watch People got their news from a newspaper No one flamed or bullied people anonymously. You could have a discussion with other people and share your thoughts. Neighbours talked to each other. It was safe to walk the streets at night in most cfities,\ Most families were 2 parents with a strong male presence Schools actually taught kids what to do and prepared them for careers Families taught values like trust self respnsibility and manners No one ws screaming at you about climate change Woke was a verb to tell a person when you got up. Walking Street, pat pong were dong great business Thailand had not even heard of Macdonalds or fast junk food. Nah it wa a crappy time much better now ???????? -
Srettha ‘Would Do Without Honesty, Good Governance’: Chuwit
kingstonkid replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The fact tht Ung Ing is thaksin is why a lot of senators will not vote for her. nor will she get support from any of hte military parties, Art 112 hs very little to do wth it. The main sticking point is that the junta has always defeated the PT and does ot lilke them. Therefore those apointed by the Junta are more likely to vote against any PT member. They just have to find reason. Also factor in that as ling as this goes on the Junta still controls the country and Prayut is still the PM. If this were Canada, Australia the governor general would step in to sort this out Not using UK for 112 reasons -
Constitutional Court Postpones Considering Pita’s Renomination Case

People are missing the point. The longer it takes to resolve the longer the military stays in control. This gives them the time to dig up dirt on all 3 PT choices -

Probably is but if it's true the last thing sretha is going to do is take him to court so that all the information can be put in the open and in the government records. -

Fitch downgrades US credit rating from AAA to AA+

Quick question. Why do Thais have so much debt? Answer there is no restraint or limit on what they can borrow and rack up in debt. What do the Dems in washington want to get rid of? The debt ceiling that says you can go this far but then have to come ask daddy if you want more. This is not a Dem or GOP issue they have all been doing it. The hard truth is that they need DAVE -
Thaksin’s imminent return stirs hope, anxiety in Thailand
kingstonkid replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I have a feeling Thaksin is hoping that Seretta will lose the vote and then they can make a deal with the senators and military to put Paetong in as PM the following week. Problem with that is that anyone that the Senate backs at this stage will be seen as a military puppet but the MFP and a lot of PT supporters. Frankly Mr T coming home is the wrong move for his party. The mililtary supporters that wear Yellow will not be happy. MFP supporters will still be in the streets. The PT has only 2 outcomes that saves them. 1. BJT joins the 8 coalition parties including MFP 2. PT goes through the motions staying with the coalition and not making any deals other than saying they will not touch 112 gets defeated in 2 votes and says ok you want it you got it Anutin becomes PM and gets nothing passed. All it takes is a budget defeat and no confidence is on the table. There is no way the government gets anything done except for Marijuana laws. The budget will be a disaster. In the UK/Canada or Aus the automatic action to all his would be to sit down with either the queen or the Queen's rep to resolve it. (Canada 2008 is close to what we are going through here) Not that she or now he can mandate anything but they can discuss and negotiate/RESOLVE ISSUES. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2008–2009_Canadian_parliamentary_dispute -
Considering this is not just a view point but a naval station I have a huge problem with this. I am sure that the people that work there if they saw guns would be on the phone to Pattaya police. Naval persons there I am sure would be on the phone to military police. 3rd the only paper covering it is this one? Next question that others have raised is how do they know what nationality any of these people are if they have not been arrested? I just see so much wrong in this. 1 Guy 1 gun and he can take so many people hostage for nothing? Even if it was a group what was the purpose?

New Thai PM could be elected on August 4, but…
kingstonkid replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Yeah what's happening is easy. The military and elite are using their insurance package to make sure they stay in power Thaksin is walking a tightrope and I am not sure he will be back on date set. First if the military is in charge he stands the risk of going to jail. Also if the military is backed by PT he will be branded a liar an traitor for promises and statements about not joining the military parties. The best thing he can do is let the military take the pm position and the coalition become the loyal opposition -
Considering that Thai schools are mandatory pass I am having difficulty with the story. I think horny Thai man gets befriended or befriends young student who sees the benefits of having a working bf and wants love. Find out they are not the only ones. Just like mama and mia noi Thai schools would rather get rid of or ignore problems.

Agreed and you can buy a film like they use on cars for the glass will also my a big difference

MFP has too many seats to not be accounted. Any deal with the military backed will mean the death of PT and in some places the end of thaksin s authority. The pardoning of thaksin would be almost as stupid. It will show how in effective the courts are if you are rich It will show that for all thaksin huffing and puffing he is just like the military regime. Nothing that PT is going to do is for the betterment of the country There are going to be some interesting protests. Yellow shirts that oppose thaksin and the orange. First vote sretha defeated. Next vote paetong wins.

Thai wife being bullied by family
kingstonkid replied to thefarangteacher's topic in Marriage and Divorce
First gf family tried it found out quickly through grandma notnot to try. Current gf keeps me separate from family she hasn't even told them she has a house that she bought As far as they are concerned her son knows but that is it. I have helped a couple of times but she tells them lazada is going good. The best thing is to move away and limit line access to a sensible member of family Besides that block -
