  1. LT I am sure is the starting job level for a forensic person. The fact that it is a police rank maybe to some confusing but remember everything here including teachers is a uniform government job. She will start out the same as any new hire anytwhere in the Western world doing the menial jobs in the lab and grow.
  2. The words he says are true. He is not involved. However, it is like a lot of things. Is he directly involved NO but sitting over a Chang with a bunch of members he talks about his watches and how much it hurt him and wonders if there is anything that involves any of the other leaders. In the military back in the 70's my Boss a general had been sent a survey that he needed 100 soldiers to fill out. While we were in the field in winter cold tired and eating rations he flew out stopped at a KFC with his chopper and bought a lot of Chicken, fries and slaw. This was only for the troops he says in our command compound and to invite them to feast. After we were done he asked me what I thought of women coming into the field with us and could they do the same job. After a few of the guys thought about it every one realized the correct answer. Then the survey was handed out for us to fill out. The other unit to get the survey answers was the infantry lol Did he do what was asked yes did he plan it yes could he claim deniability in rigging it yes. The only one that does not do this is Thaksin and that is because he has no one he trusts
  3. Just wondering. Seems to be almost every 3 months or so?
  4. IN Canada we call them crotch rockets. Guys get their licence and instead of buying a mid-size bike and learning how to ride it they go out and buy these rockets strap them on the drive as fast as they can. It is a shame. Then add in the bar scene and early morning when there is no one else on the road along with possibly lax drinking laws and this is what you get.
  5. No matter what PITA and MFP should have them submitted by now. Any delay or excuse will only embolden the others that want to pt up walls.
  6. Seems to be catching. Goverment may be wishing that they had a vaccine for it LOL My other half was a strong backer of the military (government employee) now she is asking the usual questions of why I think Pita or a different non-military party is the way to go. I think the proverbial cat is out of the bag. The only thing that they can do to stop it is for the elite to kiss and make up with the man in Dubai. The problem is that will only work for a short time and will kill the PT. A military Coup is not going to work if the people take to the streets. People are realizing the the military and their financial backers are the problem.
  7. No he did an early morning close of a bunch of bars with no warning or legal premise. The people involved lost all their money as well as their business and ability to make money. Needless to say he is not their hero.
  8. The one thing we need to remember is that while we are in the 22 century and have all the fancy tech stuff. A lot of countries are still in the 20th century. It was not long ago that British officers were officers based on their financial means, People bought their commissions or went to fancy schools. a lot of Asian countries are still in the same time frame. If you look at some India and Pakistan the feudal system still exists where the land owner has families that work on his land and he looks after them.
  9. Posted 6 hours ago Please don't talk about how great he is when having a beer in NANA still, a lot of people are upset about losing their bars. I think he has the right idea the main thing that people do not understand is optics both these ladies might be good cops but .......
  10. Is that not the same for most Western people. While there is not a lot of anecdotal evidence on LGTBQ+ look at the homeless in California. People feel sorry and think that more should be done but as Newsom said publicly that is until they want to build low-income housing in their local area., I feel that many of the people that trumpet this would be shocked and screaming if Junior the football player came home and at supper said Mom dad I am changing my name to sheila.
  11. My point about buying and putting in the refrigerator was at the people that want to have a beer int he afternoon that are not working and complain that the store will not sell to them
  12. The issue is not with the LGTBQ+ itself The extremes that want to take it up 2 notches. I am willing to bet that most live good lives and are open about what they are but do not seek extremes like drag queens, Walking into schools to teach and such. Considering that this is SE ASIA I think that the feeling and understanding of the 3rd gender is outstanding. People for the most part accept them. As I said earlier we tend to forget that Thailand has for the most part been in a military OLD MONEY world. Therefore a lot of the things that we in the west know have not reached or been allowed to function. Let me ask this question, Name a big city in the west that would allow open bars with drag shows and gay sections again in an open-air setting. in major tourist areas. How many have cabarets like Tiffany's or such (excluding Vegas). There are a lot of t hings wrong with this country that governments need to fix the question is this s top priority over minimum wage, hospitals and retirement
  13. No idea depends on what you need done. I believe a consult is free
  14. LOL you know that green plant that everyone is selling all of a sudden. Tried using old american slang sorry
  15. Have you ever taken a girl out to dinner? Who paid usually When you go to a movie who usually pays? When you go out for drinks who usually pays. This has nothing to do with prostitution it is simply that in most cases a person inadvertently puts out money for the date. Plain and simple. As to going out with a bar girl you are more than guaranteed that they have been checked but then again I think (NO recent experience) that most demand condom just as most Thai girls and ladies do.
  16. Please tel me a club where you can go dancing and meet people socially. Yes I know there are many small mom-and-pop places but they are not usually where the girls go.
  17. Check hotels for meeting rooms they usually have projectors and everything you need.
  18. I think Thailand is ahead of most Western countries in many ways. The main thing is acceptance and the realization on both sides that it exists and is part of society. There are still hurdles but over all the stigmas and crap that happens or happened in the Western world have passed Thailand by. Kaitoey's are accepted and working in many areas of main stream Thailand. The Kaitoey life still and clubs/bars are more prevalent. However, as we all know there are many things about the way Thailand as a country has operated that need to be addressed properly in a democratic means. Equality for 3rd gender people for a legal form of marriage or legal status as a couple is just one of the things along with Better education end of corruption legalization of prostitution The Mary Jane question minimum wage and a host of other things that have to be looked at in order of priority. But the worst thing that could happen is for Thai 3rd gender to start acting like those in the west.
  19. Just out of curiosity where does the foreign aid (Foreign Office) get the money for asylum seekers? Is it not part of the budget that is submitted to be included in the government's annual spending budget? Just wondering. Retirement is a huge problem in every country, that is why you see a lot of countries upping the age. No one considered tht after the baby boomers there would be such a drop in the number of people having kids or the amount of technology that now accounts for a smaller workforce.
  20. It depends on where they are coming from and their medical coverage. Pensioners are great when we are healthy, and I agree, but as we have seen here, when we get polder and medical treatment gets more expensive, it can be an issue. Pensioners do as you said, aid the economy, but most countries are looking for people that will pay income tax to increase government spending.
  21. My guess for why the ban. The actual ban does make sense if you consider this. The normal work was 9-5 Lunch is usually on a staggered time between 11 and 2 Growing up it was and probably still is not that uncommon to see people take a late or long lunch. Also remember that in Thailand people cared about government employees and not others. Therefore the last thing you would want is an employee drinking in the morning or not coming back after lunch or leaving early at the end of the day. As we have discussed on an almost daily basis here you can not teach stupidity. People will drink and will push the rules. However, you can regulate stupidity to stop it or make it more difficult. As to bars that are open during the time period they are usually in heavy tourist locations and I have never seen Thai drinking in the ones that I go to. One of the things we at times forget is that the laws here are not our laws they are not to punish us. They are Thai laws set out to "protect" the Thai people and businesses. AGAIN I am sure that while you can not buy a beer at 3 there is no reason that if you are going to want a cool brew in the afternoon you can not buy them when the store is allowed to sell and put it in this strange new invention called the refrigerator unless, of course, you are one of those weird people that like warm beer.
  22. OK can someone explain why Brits want to move to Australia the cost of living is higher there than in the UK. Canada is a little cheaper but still.
  23. Na, you have not seen the back of him I am sure that he will be able to find 10 people for Chang will attend his meeting and be a founder of the new. I like the old way of party Also he can still submit hit p[eces as a person I think
