Thaksin Shinawatra's imminent homecoming: A risky move for Pheu Thai
kingstonkid replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The last thing that Thailand needs is Thaksin coming back. Right now, he is the voice and money man, BUT if he comes back and is arrested and taken to jail or under house arrest would be a lightning rod. -
Thaksin Shinawatra's imminent homecoming: A risky move for Pheu Thai

It was one of their promises and I am willing to bet that if students don't get the money that and the loss of the 10,000 will set them off. Thais want what they are promised and add those things along with the wage increase and for those that drink the Thaksin Kool Aid will get upset if he does not return. -
Extra class after school possible?
kingstonkid replied to Joe32's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
The challenge is that most of us teach by cash or under the table. I amsure that most Thai teachers do not even count it when they pay their taxes. If you are using it to increase your amount paid then I would highly suggest talking to an accountant or lawyer to see how it can be done. I was always under the impression that if you had a WP for teaching then you were good to go but again I may be wrong. -
As election draws near, dissolution rumors grow

BUT the main focus is no matter if there is a party or not the house then has a ton of pissed-off independent members. The people are not going to allow the military to take over after watching the Prayut prawit show. -

What I am waiting for is the PT to get in power but NOT be able to pay the 10.000 baht because no one will join with them to make it happen. Same with the 25K for anyone with a BA. There is no way the senate is going to vote a Thaksin in as PM. So it is going to be who will the senate allow Unless Prawit or Prayut get a large win there is no way they will have a chance. We are not gong to see a Thai government until mid June at earliest -

Joe I help kids learn to read grammar and conversation. 500 one on one 300 if a group do not do it at the school or let the school know they will want a cut. Also set rules about attendance. Parents think nothing of not showing up for lessons. -

The problem is that they would not have the power. Dissolution of a party will not get them power. They need to remove all the members of the party. If party a wins 45% and party b wins 20% but party c with 10%wins the pm race and gets a and b disolved there is still 65% of the members sitting as independent until newparty names and e created. Once new names and parties are created it is bye bye c -
Does he rent the house. There are so many different ways to read the article. The one thing I am not clear on why were the news there and was it just coincidence that this reporter was there at the same time and had this issue. I have to wonder if this was them giving the middle digit to a pain in the asset

Italian Man Has a Meltdown on His Balcony in Pattaya, Blames Marijuana
kingstonkid replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
The challenge is not the weed but what is also included free of charge. With the number of people selling on the street and pop ups you really don't know the quality or ingredients A little bit of yaba thrown in is a great way to get new customers. Also can't forget in the good days of people buying primo grass -
Upcoming public holidays and impact on immigration office hours
kingstonkid replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
The funny thing is that a lot of schools are open this weekend. There is an orientation for M1 students in a few schools in PT. Remember, Friday is only a government holiday it is not a commercial holiday -
Yeah there are still a lot of them I know of a couple of students that I teach that Grandparents bring them and look after the house. The challenge is that no one at any time explained or taught money management to people here it is the same as the western countries. Thais in the country have a better idea of living and understand. I actually think some bar girls are smarter than the ones with the high education.

You missed the Pension part completely. The Pension I am talking about is 55-60% of your annual salary plus your medical coverage will stay the same. Had nothing to do with the government pension THe interesting part is that many people are refusing to retire at 60 or the max-age because they can not afford to.

The extended family in Thailand is not new but it is slowly eroding. The challenge is that grandparents used to look after the kids while mom and dad worked. The issue is that the kids are now not having as many babies and the cost of living for a lot of them is above their means to support themselves let alone their parents. But when you look around the world the issue is the same in a lot of countries. The old ideals fot eh past are long gone. Some of younger membersw will remember the sage wisdom we got in school and at home. Get a good education Get a good job with a good company Then you are set for life because you will always have a job and get a pension when you retire

That I know my concern is that the senate has a vote for PM. So the PT could get 205 MFP 75 which would give them enough votes to be in charge of the government. In the PM voted UTN 24 PPRP 35 votes senate 250 small parties and individuals 76 votes Prawit becomes PM. Now does that mean that all the ministers would be his hand picked cronies or would THE PT MFP fill them. I think that getting anything done in this country is going to almost be impossible.

Yes most of the kids that I teach the parents have top 5 and work from that. Don't forget that there is also a different set for schools that have the IE(?) classses that cost parents more money.
