    Normal Thai business practice.

Less customers? Increase the price of the product to make up the shortfall.

    <--------->

    Was exactly my idea .

And don't forget, at least at the end of this year the corrupt high-end officials will miss "their part" of the 14-day quarantine-money. It's the compensation/replacement/ersatz.

  2. Thank you for opening this thread.

I have a similar problem. The facts:

    - at now in Hua Hin

    - on Sunday, 18/4, a family member takes us by pick-up to Chachoensao, ~20/25km away of the BBK-Airport

    - we have a flight ticket from BKK to CNX (Chiang Mai) for Monday, 19/4 in the morning

    - we planed to go on by minibus from Arcade bus station to our home in the Mae Hong Son Province, at the same day.

Now my question (I'm aware that the quarantine conditions may change until next Monday) :

    - must we stay in quarantine in CNX or can we just go on to the Mae Hong Son Province? A quarantine in our home/village woudn't be a problem for us.

I think the officer that told you that was completely wrong.

My wife asked the officer when she did my report for me and he told her he did not know when it would be working.

I never go to the immi for this reason, it would take at least 1+1/2 hours by car or bus, one way!  I send  a letter by post, it's the most comfortable kind for me. Once the officer told me he likes it more than by internet.

    ^ 731.27+47.85=$779.12 x 30= 23,373.6 x 30%=7,012

    Then 23,373 +7,012 = 30,385 x 7% = 2126

7,012+2126= 9138. Not exact but close enough. They used a different exchange rate. 29.xx

Not stung. Simply normal import duty + VAT.

Thank you very much for explaining how taxes and customs are imposed on imported goods. It explained to me why I had to pay 3.200 THB to the customs office (in Mae Hong Son) for importing some different cremes for ladies, nearly free of chemicals, and fine soaps from a German compnay. The invoice of the company was 211,xx€ , including 25 € DHL fees, for a package below 5 kg.

BTW, this package „rested“ nearly 5 weeks in the BKK-airport customs until the sister of my wife woke the officers up by a call.

  5. Why don't you do the report by a registered mail?

    How?

    1. Download and print TM47 and infill it. Add the following (copies):

    2. Main page of your passport (photo page)

    3. Copy of the page of your last visa/stay permit

    4. Copy of the page of your last entry

    5. Copy of your "departure" card (that means arrival card)

    6. Copy of your last 90-day notification

    7. Self addressed envelope with a stamp (5-Baht ?).

This works for me every time.

  6. NancyL, you are completely right. But there is only one problem:  it's in their genes to burn:violin:

Do we remember Prayut's hypocritical words?

Result as usual:  nothing will happen to stop the fires. Thai generals are known for talking a lot, but not for acting seriously.

One idea to change their minds and actions would be: education (already in the schools). It would take some time, but it would work.

This year we probably are kept like prisoners in our province, because of Covid, not allowed to flee the fires. That means:  breathing this "healthy" air.

Twitter Locks Trump’s Account After Violence on Capitol Hill
The move came after critics and even some allies of companies like Twitter and Facebook said they failed to prevent the misinformation that led to chaos on Wednesday.

Twitter said Mr. Trump’s account would remain locked for 12 hours and the ban could be extended if several of his tweets that rejected the election results and appeared to incite violence were not deleted. Mr. Trump’s account will be permanently suspended if he continues violating Twitter’s policies against violent threats and election misinformation, the company added.

3 days ago this charlatan was ridiculing the leader of the opposition for suggesting not easing lockdown conditions just for Christmas when it was obvious cases are starting to get out of control again. And now yet another reversal from this incompetent opportunist.

In a German magazin I have read a "nice" comment concerning GB's situation:

    GB has three diassters:

    1. Brexit

    2. Covid

    3. Johnson
